    Paustian, John L. John L. Paustian, 84, passed away Saturday, December 17, 2005, at his home. John was born in Mayville, WI, to the late John and Alma (Christian) Paustian. He married Inez Boucher at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kaukauna, WI, on July 22, 1961. He grew up in Mayville, WI, attended Dodge County Normal School for two years and taught school for a year before going into the Army during World War II. After the service he attended the University of Wisconsin in Madison. John moved to the Fox Valley area after graduation from the university. He worked at The Post-Crescent for 37 years, where he worked in the sports field, and 27 of those years he was sports editor. John retired from the Post-Crescent in June of 1987. He enjoyed attending high school sports events and watching sports as well as attending the games. John was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and also enjoyed golfing. John is survived by his loving wife: Inez of Appleton, four sons Gregory (Michelle) of Freedom, Russ (Michelle) of Appleton, Fred of Appleton, John C. (Dianne) of Thiensville; a daughter: Jeanne (Bruce) Van Eperen of Appleton; 11 grandchildren: Cory, Angie, Nikki, Luke, Melanie, Anthony, Nicholas, Brett, Thomas, Joshua, and Kendra. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Arthur, and two grandsons, Michael and Alex John. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 20, 2005, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1810 N. McDonald, Appleton, with Fr. Gerald Falk officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 8:30 a.m. until time of the Mass. Internment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. "We would like to thank Theda Care at Home and Hospice for their compassion and loving care." He made many memories as a loving Husband, Father, and Grandpa that will live in our hearts forever.     Terry A. Van Wychen; age 54, was given the promice of "eternal life" on August 22, 2004, after a courageous, painful battle with pancreatic cancer. He died at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 27, 1950 to Melvin and Helen Van Wychen. Terry graduated from Kaukauna High School in 1968 and was drafted in the Army in the Fall of 1969. He married his high school sweetheart, Connie Pynenberg, on April 9, 1970, and she joined him during his service duty in Germany. His love for his wife and family was always evident in all that he did. He loved his two sons, Ben and Jacob, and was very proud of the men they had become. Terry had started out as a carpenter with his Uncle Rich Van Wychen and also worked as a leaf foreman for the Trade Mark construction and Syring Development. In March of 1982, he was hired at Wisconsin Tissue, now known as SCA and was currently working as a shift trainer up until his illness. Terry was well respected as an employee and always willing to help anyone. You could "vet" on it. Terry was a member of St. Nicholas Church in Freedom and also a member of Jacob Coppus American Legion Post #258 in Little Chute, Terry loved the outdoors. He always said that he was pretty close to being in Heaven when sitting out in his deer hunting stand or out on a lake fishing.
    He is survived by his loving wife, Connie; his children, Benjamin (special friend, Dawn), of Freedom; and Jacob (special friend, Rachel Keller), of Little Chute; two cherished grandsons, Spencer and Trevor; his father Melvin Van Wychen , of De Pere; his mother and step-father Helen and Wally Dix, of Florida; brothers, Marvin (Kathy), Neenah; Ken (Lynn) Kaukauna; Norm (Micky) Kaukauna; a sister, Mugs (Michael Maes), Kaukauna; step-brothers and sister, Dick, Mike, Ron and Peg Wilquet. He is further survived by his mother-in-law, Blanche Pynenberg, Little chute; his sister-in-law, Donna (Dave Wunrow), Seymour; brothers-in-law, Ron (Sue) Pynenberg, Kimberly, Joe (Vicky) Pynenbert, Little Chute; and Tim Pynenberg, Appleton. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces and newpews.
    He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Gerald Pynenberg; a step-mother, Mildred Van Wychen; and a nephew, Cory Pynenberg.
    Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Wednwsday, Aug. 25, 2004 at St. Nicholas Church in freedom, with the Rev. Dennis Ryan officiating. Interment will take place in St. Nicholas Cemetery in Freedom with Military Honors conducted by Jacob Cuppus American Legion Post #258. Friends may call at the church from 1 p.m. until the time of mass.

    Dix, Wallis O. (Sonny) Wallis O. Dix, age 88, formerly of Kaukauna, died at his home in Punta Gorda, Florida, on December 5, 2007. He was born in Potter, Wisconsin, on May 6, 1919, the son of Oscar and Adela (Lopas) Dix. He operated a locker plant in Kaukauna for many years and later retired from Badger Northland. With his wife, Helen (Janz) they retired to a home on Lake Metonga, Crandon, before moving to Punta Gorda. She preceded him in death in 2005. Wallis served honorably in the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II from 1943-1945. He was an avid golfer who scored two holes in one in his lifetime.

    He is survived by his wife's children: Marvin (Kathy) Van Wychen, Margaret (Michael) Maes, Kenneth (Lynn) Van Wychen, Norman (Micki) Van Wychen, and a daughter-in-law, Connie Van Wychen, nine grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Elroy (Bud) Dix, a sister, Elvira (Tootie) Magaurn, Green Bay; a niece, Sharon Wegner. Cedarburg; and her two children, a nephew, Steven Dix, Green Bay; and his two children, and another nephew, William Magaurn, Green Bay. He is further survived by his wife's brothers and sisters.

    He was also preceded in death by Helen's son, Terry Van Wychen, a sister-in-law, Lorraine Dix, a brother-in-law, William Magaurn, and a nephew, Michael Magaurn.

    The family was assisted by ICS Cremation Society, Inc. in Punta Gorda, Florida. Wally requested a private family service. Our wishes are that any remembrances or contributions be directed to the American Cancer Society.

    He was born on March 14, 1949, in Appleton to Melvin and Helen (Janz) Van Wychen. Marv worked at Webex Inc. for 18 years and then Axle Tech International until the time of his illness. Marv's passions in life were Kathy, hunting, fishing, golfing, and bowling.

    Marv is survived by his wife, Kathy (Rozek) Van Wychen; his son, Paul Van Wychen, and grandchildren, Brianna, Emma, and Henry; stepson, Bryan (Julia) Thorson, and grandchildren, Caroline and Douglas; his father, Melvin Van Wychen; brothers, Kenny (Lynn) Van Wychen, Norm (Micki) Van Wychen; sister, Mugs (Mike) Maes; sister-in-law, Connie Van Wychen, stepbrothers, Mike (Karen) Wilquet, Ron (Diane) Wilquet; stepsister, Peggy (Dave) Hopp; in-laws, Roger (Sherry) Rozek, Ron Rozek, and Debbie (Frank) Robinson. He is also survived by many other relatives as well as good friends, Al Mathison, Gary Presteen, and Jay Jack.

    Marv was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Dix; brother, Terry Van Wychen; stepmother, Millie Van Wychen; stepfather, Wally Dix; stepbrother, Richard Wilquet, and stepson, Jeffery Thorson.

    A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at the Appleton Alliance Church, 2693 W. Grand Chute Blvd., Appleton, with Pastor Mark Tegtmeier officiating. A Visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

    A memorial in Marv's name has been established for the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation.
