  • Note: Martin J. Verhagen, Little Chute, age 81, died at his home on Sunday, October 30, 2016. He was born in Little Chute on October 13, 1935 to the late Martin and Ann (Hermes) Verhagen. Martin married Judith Peters on April 16, 1966 at Greenville Emmanuel Lutheran Church. He enjoyed watching the birds and other wildlife in his yard. Martin also enjoyed baseball and football. He worked at the Combined Locks Mill until his retirement in 1997.

    Martin is survived by his wife of 50 years, Judith; their son Jeff of Milwaukee; sister-in-law Cheryl (Steven) Schmidt; and uncle, Pete Hermes. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

    In addition to his parents, Martin was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Orville and Irene Peters; and sisters and brothers-in-law: Mary Lenz, Lorraine (Richard) Wilson and Allan Peters.

    Visitation will be held Thursday, November 3, 2016 at ST. LUKE LUTHERAN CHURCH (705 E. Greenfield Drive Little Chute) beginning at 9:00 a.m. until time of funeral at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Ronald Szep will officiate. Committal Highland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, a memorial to benefit St. Luke Lutheran Church is being established.   • Note: Lorraine M. Wilson, 82 of Batavia passed away peacefully on January 28, 2015. She was born on August 22, 1932 in Appleton, WI, the daughter of Ann and Martin Verhagen.

    Lorraine was full of life and always had a smile for everybody. She enjoyed watching sports and was an avid Cubs fan. She valued time with her family and her beloved pet bird Charlie. She will be greatly missed by many.

    She is survived by her brother Martin Jr. (Judy) Verhagen of Little Chute, WI; five children John (Linda) Hancock of Tucson, AZ, Randy Greene (Patrick Boviall) of Aurora, IL, Pat Hancock of Woodridge, IL, Michael (Judy) Hancock of Lockport, IL and Richard (Diane) Wilson of Dover, OH; three grandchildren Jennifer (Adam) Feaman of Normal, IL, Julie (Pete) Froehlke of Aurora, IL, and Jill Hancock (Jesse Tejeda); and two great- grandsons Austin and Colin Feaman.

    Visitation will be held Saturday January 31, 2015 from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. at Moss Family Funeral Home 209 South Batavia Avenue, Batavia, IL. A memorial service to celebrate Lorraine’s life will follow the visitation at 3:00 P.M.
  • Graduation: She graduated from St John High School, Little Chute, in 1950.

  • Note: Ruby Pearl Minlschmidt, age 87, of Black Creek, passed away Monday morning, May 23, 2011, at her home. She was born September 18, 1923, daughter of the late Willard and Frances (Van Straten) Last. On September 23, 1941, she was united in marriage to Floyd Minlschmidt. He preceded her in death in 1986.

    Ruby graduated from Shiocton High School Class of 1941. Ruby's father called her his "Little Gem." She was a faithful and active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Black Creek. She worked many years at the Black Creek School as a cook and loved time spent with her children and grandchildren.

    Survivors include her children; Mary Beth Minlschmidt, Appleton; Carol Knoke, Green Bay; John (Maxine) Minlschmidt, Black Creek; Jane (Greg) Reed, Seymour; Cindy (Eric) Dovenbarger, Florida; Cheri (Tom) Duffey, Appleton; Pam Minlschmidt, Appleton; Lisa Minlschmidt (special friend Ray), Appleton; Todd (Renee) Minlschmidt; Amy Lawrence (special friend Dave), Black Creek; 25 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; one sister Ethel Diermeier, Black Creek; Brother-in-law LeRoy Minlschmidt, Appleton.

    Preceded in death by a daughter Sue and a brother Willard.

    Friends may call at the Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home on Thursday, May 26, 2011, from 4-8 with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. and Friday, May 27, 2011, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Black Creek, from 10 a.m. until funeral services at 11 with Father Theodore Hendricks officiating.     Diermeier, Clarence J.
    Clarence J. Diermeier, age 78, of Black Creek, passed away Thursday, December 11, 2008, at Cherry Meadows with his family by his side. He was born September 6, 1930, to the late Anthony and Mary (Nussbaum) Diermeier in Jackson, Minnesota. On August 7, 1951, he was united in marriage to Ethel Last. Clarence was employed with Center Valley Co-op for 44 years retiring in 1994. He then worked for his sons at Black Creek Hardware and Service. In 1997, he started working three part-time jobs: one for Outagamie County as a Court Bailiff, another for the City of Seymour, and his favorite, for Johnson's Hardware in Shiocton.
    He was a member of the Town of Center Fire Department serving for over 40 years. He was a 4-H Leader and also served on the Center Valley Credit Union Board. Clarence was also a member of the, Black Creek Lions Club, Knights of Columbus and St. Edward Catholic Church in Mackville.

    He was preceded in death by one son, Richard; mother and father-in-law, Willard and Francis (Van Straten) Last; brother-in-law, Willard (Helen) Last; brother-in-law, Floyd Minlschmidt; sister-in-law, Sue Diermeier; Godchildren: Bob Kramer and Sue Minlschmidt.
    Visitation will take place at St. Edward Catholic Church, Mackville on Thursday, December 18, 2008, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. with prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue on Friday, December 19, 2008, at St. Edward Catholic Church from 9:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. with Father Mark Vander Steeg officiating. Burial immediately following in the parish cemetery.
