At noon on Friday, February 25, 2005, Marie Josephine Nagan, age 87, was called home by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Marie died of natural causes at St. Paul Home, Kaukauna. She was born in Kaukauna on June 8, 1917, daughter of the late Albert and Rose (Block) Schumann. She was employed at Thilmany before she became a wife and loving mother. On February 22, 1941 she married Mark A. Nagan at St. Mary Catholic Church, Kaukauna. They enjoyed 64, years of marriage together. When Mark was serving in WWII, Marie was left to take care of their newborn son alone. She was a life long member of St. Mary Catholic Church. Marie was well known for her outstanding baking. Coffee cakes were her specialty. She ran a meticulously clean household and could be found cleaning her room, even at St. Paul Home. Her two greatest passions in life were her religion and her family. Marie enjoyed visits by her children’s friends and always made everyone laugh with her quick wit and had the ability to light up a room with her loving smile. Her passionate love and support for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren was never ending and while it may be missed by her absence, it will never be forgotten. Marie had many health problems most of her life. Through her belief in God, she always endured her challenges without complaint. God tested her right until the end when he took her ability to speak away from her. Again, she never complained. We found out this was the last test as after passing once again, God finally called her home. No More suffering for our mother. She is finally healthy in body, mind and soul. Marie, through her strength, courage and desire, was a hero to us all.
