  • Death: She died on March 2, 2013, at age 54.
  • Note: Ellen E. Fink, 54, Kaukauna, passed away in her home on March 2, 2013 after a courageous 4 month battle with brain cancer. Ellen was born on June 3, 1958 in Appleton, WI to Emil and Shirley (Dietzen) Better. She was a graduate of Kimberly High School. On October 23, 1987 she married Stanley Fink at Holy Name Parish in Kimberly.

    Ellen was employed at Appleton Papers prior to starting her family. She enjoyed cooking, baking, crafts, and horses. Many will remember her cut-out cookies with butter-cream frosting, schaum torte served with strawberries and ice cream, tater-tot casserole and fried bologna sandwiches. Two things Ellen was happy to accomplish after her diagnosis in late November was organizing her recipes and her Christmas ornaments.

    Ellen will be sorrowfully missed by her husband Stan, son Nathan (Kayla Hintz-Fiancée) Fink, daughter Kayla Fink, stepdaughter Heather (Adam) Sprangers, grandsons, Ben and Justin Sprangers, stepson Heath Fink, mother Shirley (Dietzen) Better, brother James (Gail) Better, niece Melanie (Mike) Hilt, and niece Nicole (Jason) Gerend.

    Ellen is further survived by Stan's family. Mother-in-law, Arlene Fink, Nick (Cathy) Fink, Lyle (Theresa Biesterveld-Fiancée) Fink, Thomas (Donna) Fink, Sandra (Kevin) Uitenbroek, several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews as well as other relatives and friends and her dogs, Bailey and Nellie and Kayla's horse Smoochie.

    She was preceded in death by her father Emil Better and father-in-law Lyle Fink.

    Friends may call at Boettcher Family Funeral Home, 2401 Fieldcrest Drive, Kaukauna on Thursday, March 7, 2013 from 3:00pm to 7:30pm. A memorial service will follow at 7:30pm with Deacon Mark Farrell officiating. Online condolences may be expressed at www.boettcherfamilyfuneral.com.

    Stan would like to thank his family and friends and Affinity Hospice for all the support they offered during Ellen's battle with cancer and everyone's love and prayers and all who attended The Ellen Fink Benefit on February 16th to celebrate Ellen's life.

    Ellen - Many people don't know how much you gave of yourself to others in your quiet, behind the scenes volunteer work. You never wanted to be front and center. You are front and center now in Heaven and we are better people for having known you.

    Never say goodbye. It is never goodbye.

    Age 46, passed away Saturday evening, October 5, 2002, at Appleton Medical Center. He was born April 12, 1956, in Kaukauna, son of Charles and Frida (Borri) Bodde.

    Paul was employed at Appleton Coated Locks Mill. His love was his two daughters and the time he spent with them. He enjoyed time with family, loved sports and especially fishing with his friend Mark Damro. He is survived by his daughters Emily and Molly, Kaukauna parents, Charles and Frida Bodde, Kaukauna sisters: Carla Schroeder, Wausau Sharon (Ken) Hammen, Appleton Connie (Glen) Geurts, Kaukauna one niece, Jenni Schroeder, Dallas, Texas nephews: Dan (Jacelyn) Schroeder, Wausau Matthew and Andy Geurts, Kaukauna aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Larry Schroeder grandparents Andrew and Angelina Bodde and Vittorio and Emma Borri.

    Funeral mass will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Father Jack Mullarkey officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at Boettcher Family Funeral Home, Kaukauna, Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. and Wednesday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of services.

    Dad, We love you. You were the best Dad anyone could ask for. You will always be in our hearts and will never be forgotten.

  • Marriage: She and Jerome Aloysius Meyer were married on November 24, 1955 in St Patrick Church, Askeaton, Wisconsin.
  • Death: LaVerne Catherine Wittmann died on July 1, 2017, at age 84.
  • Note: LaVerne Catherine Meyer, age 84, passed away peacefully at Caring Hands Assisted Living in New Holstein, WI, on Saturday, July 1, 2017. She was born on March 7, 1933, in Brillion, WI, the daughter of the late Steve and Cora (VanderLoop) Wittmann. LaVerne was a 1950 graduate of Brillion High School. On November 24,1955 she married the love of her life, Jerome (Jerry) Aloysius Meyer, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Askeaton, WI. Jerry preceded her in joining their heavenly father on September 29, 2012. As the years went by, LaVerne missed Jerry immensely and has now been reunited with him at their final resting place in heaven. In their life together, they lived in Sheboygan Falls, WI, for 35 years, and then upon their retirement, moved to Kiel, WI, to be closer to their immediate family. They enjoyed gardening together, and Jerry would often bring her flowers from their gardens.

    LaVerne was employed at Tecumseh in Sheboygan Falls, WI, as an inspector prior to her retirement in 1995. She was a member of the Kiel VFW Auxiliary. With her strong faith, she was an active member of Ss. Peter & Paul Parish in Kiel, WI, belonged to their Christian Mothers group, and ushered mass services with her husband. She loved baking with her grandchildren, especially when they were little, as she often laughed at how "artistic" they could be with frosting the cookies. She enjoyed golfing and was in a golf league for about 10 years. She thoroughly enjoyed playing card games. She loved collecting plates and bells. She always looked forward to their annual vacations in Golf Shores, AL, over the winter months during their retirement years. The family wishes to extend their appreciation to the staff at Caring Hands Assisted Living in New Holstein, WI, and to the staff at Heartland Hospice in Fond du Lac, WI, for their compassionate care of LaVerne. Survivors include: a daughter, Cheryl (Tom) Graff of Elkhart Lake, WI; a son, Daniel (Vickie) Meyer of Howards Grove, WI; 4 grandchildren: Jennifer (Christopher) Wray, nee Graff of Waukesha, WI, Jeremy (Rachel) Graff of Sheboygan Falls, WI, Becky (Jake) Murray, nee Meyer of Bloomington, MN, and Sarah (Patrick) Costello, nee Meyer of Shakopee, MN; 3 great grandchildren: Allison and Madelyn Wray of Waukesha, WI, and Henry Murray of Bloomington, MN; 2 sisters: Arlene Fink of Kaukauna, WI, and Dorothy (Allan) Zahn of Brillion, WI, 1 brother, Marvin Wittmann of Little Chute, WI, and 1 sister-in-law, Verdayne Meyer of Sheboygan Falls, WI. Along with her loving husband, she was preceded in death by her immediate family of two sisters: Rita Lau and Gloria Steinfest along with several other brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 8 at 12:00 p.m. at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, (413 Fremont St.) Kiel, WI. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. The Wieting Funeral Home in Chilton, WI, is assisting the family with arrangements.
