    Kenneth J. VanDerLinden, age 67, of 214 S. Parkway Dr., Brillion, died Thursday, April 14, 2005 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. He was born on October 22, 1937 in De Pere, son of the late August and Frances (Hoffman) VanDerLinden. He married Cecelia Fultz on July 18, 1959 at Oswego, NY. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany in the Military Police. He then farmed and was a cheesemaker in the Hilbert and Kaukauna area. He was also a research farmer for Birds Eye Foods.

    Ken was a member of Holy Family Parish in Brillion.

    Survivors include his children: Philip (Alisha) VanDerLinden of Elko, NV; Raymond (Patricia) VanDerLinden of Chilton; Janet (Scott) Pribbernow of New Holstein; Helen Loose of New Holstein; Randall VanDerLinden of Brillion; 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; three sisters: Grace Calaway of Brillion; Mary (Dick) Rotier of De Pere; Rosie Kramer of Kimberly; five brothers: Carl and Ann of Shawano; Don and Donna of Greenleaf; Richard and Julaine of De Pere; Roger and Jeannie of Kaukauna; Norbert and Sharon of Wrightstown; a sister-in-law, Sandy VanDerLinden of Wayside.

    He was preceded in death by his wife on April 23, 1993 and a brother Gerald.

    Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 18th at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Brillion. The Rev. Tom Long will officiate. Entombment will be at Knollwood Mausoleum in Manitowoc. Friends may call at the Wieting Funeral Home in Brillion on Sunday from 5-8 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of mass. There will be a parish prayer service at the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. Sunday evening.

    Manitowoc Man Seriously Hurt In Mystery Mishap
    Manitowoc. — Paul Kramer, employee at the power plant of the Manitowoc Shipbuilding Corporation, was seriously injured and rendered unconscious for several hours yesterday in an accident in which few of the details are known. The unconscious form of Kramer was found by employees at the plant near the air comptessor. He was employed as a night engineer and was alone at the plant when injured. It is believed he may have been injured while inspecting the valves on the air compressor. Serious internal injuries are feared.

    Manitowoc. - Paul Kramer, 30-year-old engineer at the shipyards powerhouse at Manitowoc, who was injured Tuesday evening was still unconscious at the Holy Family hospital Thursday. At noon he was entering the forty-first hour of unconsciousness. Mr. Kramer sustained a fractured skull. When the accident occurred hewas inspecting an air compressor at the plant. He was alone at the time and cause of the acccident was still undetermined yesterday.

    Manitowoc. - Paul Kramer, 30-year-old night engineer of Manitowoc, whose skull was fractured in an accident at the Manitowoc power house last Tuesday evening, was unconscious for a period of 168 hours, shortly after 7 o'clock last evening. This is very unusual, it was said. Mr Kramer's eyes fluttered open for an instant Wednesday morning, it was learned at the hospital and he sat up in bed for a minute. according to his wife, who was with him at the time.

  • Note: Roger Walbrun, age 71, of Appleton, passed away at Select Specialty Hospital in Madison on Thursday, August 28, with his loving family by his side. Roger was born on November 16, 1942, in Menasha, to the late Sylvester and Lydia (Kunke) Walbrun. He married Ethel Kohl on September 9, 1961, in Appleton. Roger was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He enjoyed fishing, wine making, gardening, card playing, bowling, and was an avid Packers and Brewers fan. Roger especially enjoyed the time he spent with his family. He was a respected Master Plumber, long-time member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union Local #400, and a City of Appleton Plumbing Inspector at the time of his retirement. Roger's contributions helped build the foundations for many of the programs offered by the Local #400 today. He was recently honored by the local union with his induction into the Plumbers Hall of Fame.

    Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Ethel; his children Corrine (Greg) Dahlk, Scott (Kim) Walbrun, Chris (Dan) Hearden and Brad (Alana) Walbrun; his grandchildren, Drew, Michelle, Troy, Jena, Matthew and Joe; Zach and Luke; Morgan and Sam; Stephen, Ben and Caroline; his great grandson, Vincent; his siblings, Richard (Arlene) Walbrun, Larry Walbrun, Harvey (Sue) Walbrun, Roman (Judy) Walbrun, Paul (Carol) Walbrun, Carol (Doug) Cottrell, Ken (Mary) Walbrun, and Fran (Jim) Larson. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Roger was preceded in death by his sister, Annette Walbrun, and his brothers, Jim and George Walbrun.

    The Funeral Liturgy will be at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, September 5, 2014, at ST. BERNADETTE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2331 E. Lourdes Drive, Appleton, with Fr. Donald Zuleger officiating. Friends may call directly at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m until the time of services. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Appleton.   • Note: Allan J. Kortas, age 90, a resident of 2929 St. Anthony Drive, Green Bay, died Wednesday, July 21, 2004, at Parkview Manor Nursing Center, Green Bay.

    He was born March 3, 1914, in Manitowoc, son of the late John and Marie(Brittnacher) Kortas. Allan was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School, Class of 1931. He was a veteran of World War II with the 504th Military Police serving from 1941 to 1945 in Africa, Sicily, S. France, Italy & S. Germany. On June 8, 1946 he married the former Doris C. Wellhoefer at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Allan was a shipping supervisor with Rahr Malting for 24 years and Anheuser-Busch, Manitowoc for 16 years, retiring in 1978. Allan was a member of Manitowoc Bowling Association, Hall of Fame member, lifetime member of Eagles Aerie #706, Elks BPOE #687 and the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of American Legion - Drews Bleser Post #88. Allan was the 11th Ward Alderman, serving as the president for eight years and past president of the Police & Fire Commission for ten years.

    Survivors include his wife, Doris Kortas, Green Bay; a daughter, Kay K. Smet, Green Bay; three sons and daughters-in-law, John R. & Janey Kortas, Lewisburg, W. Virginia, Thomas G. & Sharen Kortas, Hudson, Wisconsin, William A. & Linda Kortas, Chesterfield, Missouri; five grandchildren, Michael Kortas, Robert Smet, Robert Kortas, Lauren Kortas, Katy Kortas and two great grandchildren, Mackenzie Smet, Morgan Smet

    The family will greet relatives and friends at The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday and Monday morning at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.

    Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 26, 2004, at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Gerald Foley with entombment at Calvary Mausoleum, Manitowoc.

    In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to The Alzheimers Association or the charity of your choice.
