  • Death: LaVerne Schmude died on February 20, 2015, at age 94, in Waupaca, Waupaca Co, Wisconsin.
  • Note: LaVerne L. Olsen, age 94, of Poy Sippi, WI passed away on Friday, February 20, 2015 at Riverside Medical Center in Waupaca. LaVerne was born in Borth, WI on August 8, 1920, the daughter of the late Henry and Anna (Schonscheck) Schmude. On December 3, 1938, she married Anton (Tony) Olsen in Borth and he preceded her in death on July 18, 2004. LaVerne worked at Hillside Restaurant, Koplins and was a caregiver for many shut-ins in the area. She loved crocheting, beading, making cookies, reading and especially taking care of her grandchildren & great grandchildren. She also was a 4-H leader and a member of Borth United Methodist Church.

    LaVerne is survived by her daughters: Janet (LeRoy) Kempf, Fremont and Marion Vanderloop, Kaukauna; her grandchildren: Kathy (Randy) Cook; Gene (Kathy) Kempf; Sharon (Mike) Hibbard; Merry (Matt) Lison; Robb (Sue) Vanderloop; Jodi (Jon) Huss and Jill (Joe) VanLyssel; her great grandchildren: Adam (Vanessa) Cook; Andrew Cook; Derek Kempf; Erin, Nick & Luke VanLyssel; Danielle & Will Hibbard; Mark (Jordan) Vanderloop; Leah Vanderloop and Kyle, Taylor & Morgan Huss and her great-great grandchildren: Noah, Jayden & Anastasia. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Lola Olsen and many nieces & nephews. LaVerne was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Anton, a son, Gene Olsen, a son-in-law: Norman Vanderloop, a grandson, Scott Vanderloop and her siblings, Louis & Lloyd Schmude, Lucinda Achterberg, Lilah Lehman, Louise Belter and Lola Krueger.

    The Funeral Service will be on Thursday, Feb. 26 at 11 AM at Borth United Methodist Church with Reverend George Groves, officiating. Burial will be in the Borth Cemetery, Town of Poy Sippi. Visitation will be on Wednesday evening from 4 - 8 PM at the Holly Funeral Home in Poy Sippi and on Thursday from 9:30 - 11 AM at Borth United Methodist Church.

  • Death: He died on January 1, 2012, at age 48, in Kaukauna, Outagamie Co, Wisconsin.
  • Burial: He was buried in St Francis Cemetery, Hollandtown, Wisconsin.
  • Note: Scott G. Vanderloop, 48, Kaukauna, died on Sunday, Jan. 1, 2012, at home with his family at his side, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born Aug. 10, 1963, in Neenah, Wis., son of Norman and Marion (Olsen) Vanderloop.

    Scott was third generation partner in Vanderloop Equipment, Inc. For the past several years, he was at the Marathon location. Scott's passions included bowling, golfing, fishing and especially racing. He was a past officer of the Fox River Racing Club. He was a Packer fan and became a stockholder this Christmas. Scott was a member of St. Katherine Drexel Parish at St. Francis Church in Hollandtown.

    He is survived by his mother, Marion, Kaukauna; maternal grandmother, LaVerne Olsen, PoySippi; paternal grandmother, Helen and Lyle Lamers, DePere; his loving brother and sisters, Sharon (Mike) Hibbard, Appleton; Robb (Sue) Vanderloop, Kaukauna; and Jodi (Jon) Huss, Combined Locks; his nieces and nephews, Danielle and Will Hibbard, Mark and Leah Vanderloop, Kyle, Taylor and Morgan Huss; and special great-nephew, Noah Coffey. He is further survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

    He was preceded in death by his father in 1995; his maternal grandfather, Antone Olsen; paternal grandfather, Norbert Vanderloop; and his uncle, Tony Vanderloop.

    The Mass of Christian Burial for Scott will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012, at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL PARISH at ST. FRANCIS CHURCH in Hollandtown, with Fr. Jerry Pastors and Fr. Willard Vanderloo concelebrating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at Boettcher Family Funeral Home, 2401 Fieldcrest Dr., Kaukauna, on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. with a Parish Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m. concluding the evening. Friends may call again directly at the church on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.

    A memorial fund is being established in his name.

    Scott, The last and best gift you gave me on New Years Day was a big smile. You would have made any Mother proud of how you smiled your way through the past 15 months. Love, Mom

  • Birth: David Keith Dunsmore was born on July 6, 1944 in St Paul, Ramsey Co, Minnesota.
  • Death: He died on February 21, 2016, at age 71, in Naples, Collier Co, Florida.
  • Note: Dave Dunsmore, age 71, of Menasha, WI, died Sunday, February 21, 2016 at Frances Georgeson Hospice House in Naples, Florida. He was born in St. Paul, MN on July 6, 1944, son of the late Henry and Florence (Thesenvitz) Dunsmore. Dave married Betty (Stadler) Dunsmore on November 11, 1978 in Appleton, WI.

    Dave joined the Navy at age 17 after graduating from Johnson High School in St. Paul. He spent several years traveling the world after his 3 years in the service, settling in the Appleton area where his mother, sister, brother-in-law and niece lived. He was an avid bird watcher which led him on many birding adventures across the country taking photos of the birds and nature scenes. Photography was his passion. Dave loved his family and spending time with his 15 grandchildren. He was a pressman in commercial printing for over 40 years (Earl Litho, Neenah Print and Independent).

    Dave will be sadly missed by his wife Betty; Son, Paul (Tammy) Dunsmore; Daughter, Jennifer (John) Lorbiecki; Step-daughters: Terri (Pete) Adler, Tina (Don) Heavener, Lori (Darin) Olski and Step-son Mike (Kim) Pendergast; Grandchildren: Julia, Gramm, and Cameron Dunsmore; Brenton, Kylie, and Colton Lorbiecki; Peter, Hunter, and Libby Adler; Miranda and Cody Heavener; Lorrin and Jaden Olski; Mallorie and Tyler Pendergast. He is also survived by his sister Joyce Davis and niece Peggy (Dick) Conlon and her family. Dave is further survived by his mother-in-law Rose Stadler, brothers-in-law: Bob (Barb) Stadler, Joe (Sandy) Stadler, Jim (Sharon) Stadler, Bruce Stadler, and Brian (Wendy) Stadler; sister's-in-law: Diane (Denny) Stadler, Shirley Stadler, Karen Stadler and Linda (Shawn) Rivard; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, special friends Tom and Carol Sykes and numerous other friends. Dave was preceded in death by his father-in-law Gerald Stadler and brothers-in-law Marvin Davis and Wayne Stadler.

    A prayer service will be held at 11 a.m. March 19, 2016 at St. Mary's (528 2nd St., Menasha). In lieu of flowers please donate to Heckrodt Wetland Reserve in his honor.
