    George G. Zachow, age 81, of Clintonville, passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2005 at the Greentree Health and Rehabilitation Center, Clintonville. George was born on March 21, 1924 in Fond du Lac, WI, the son of the late Clarence W. and Anna (Giddings) Zachow. His father was one of the founders of the Atlas Conveyor Company, Clintonville. George's grandfather, Otto Zachow, was the inventor of the four-wheel drive principle. After George graduated from Clintonville High School in 1942, he continued his education at U.W. Madison. Between 1943 until 1946, he served his country in the U.S. Army overseas in France and Germany in the Army Combat Engineers. After his discharge from the service, he again attended U.W. Madison and graduated with a B. S. Degree in mechanical engineering. In 1950 he received a B.B.A. Degree in industrial management also from Madison. In 1951, following graduation, he was employed in Chicago as a mechanical engineer, designing conveyors for Link Belt Company. He moved to Clintonville and joined his father in business and ownership at the Atlas Conveyor Co. In 1952, the company was sold several times and George continued to work there until Rexnord/Nordberg bought the company where George became operations manager, retiring in 1989. On June 19, 1948 he was united in marriage to Margaret "Peg" Rohan at the Christ Congregational United Church of Christ, Clintonville. The couple had lived in Clintonville all of their married life. Mrs. Zachow preceded her husband in death on January 15, 2002.

    George had been a board member of F.V.T.I. Foundation, a member of the Valley Council of Boy Scouts, the American Legion Post # 63, a Rotary Club President, the Free and Accepted Masons Chapter #197, Curling Club, President of Historical Society, board of directors for the Hospital, board of directors for the Chamber of Commerce, a United Way director and the Clintonville Area Foundation, all of Clintonville. He also was an active member of the Christ Congregational United Church of Christ, Clintonville, where he served as Deacon, choir member and moderator.

    Survivors include: two sons: Paul Zachow , Webster Groves, MO Mark (Debra) Zachow, Clintonville three grandchildren: Kristy, Stacy and Jonathan Zachow, his sister-in-law, Rosemary "Posy" Rohan, Wausau three nieces and a nephew.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, his step mother, (Stella VanRyzin Zachow), his wife, (Margaret "Peg"), and a brother-in-law, (Ben Rohan).

    Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 6, 2005 at the Christ Congregational United Church of Christ, Clintonville with Rev. Jill Meyer officiating and inurnment will be in the Graceland Cemetery, Clintonville. Military rites will be held at the church by the American Legion Post #63 and the V.F.W. Post #664 of Clintonville.

    Friends may call at the church from 9:30 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service. The Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home, Clintonville, is assisting his family with the arrangements. Condolences may be sent through www.eber hardtstevenson.com

    Mrs. Rosella Verkuilen 907 Draper St. Kaukauna

    Age 75, died Saturday, January 6, 1990, at Appleton Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born February 26, 1914 in Kaukauna the daughter of the late Carlton and Bertha [Dreger] Trettin. Rosella was a very loving and giving person who enjoyed spending time at the cottage with family and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed and always missed in hearts of those who loved her. She was a member of the Immanuel United Church of Christ. She was a superintendent of the Sunday Church School, had been a Sunday School teacher, and was on the board of Christian Education, was a member of the Women's Guild and the Prayer Circle and was also a communion steward.

    She is survived by two daughters and a son in-law, Marlene Verkuilen of Kaukauna; and Elizabeth and Thomas Birschbach of New Holstein; two grandchildren, Allen and Sara Birschbach; two brothers and sisters in-law, Carlton and Leola Trettin of Appleton; and Marvin and Lois Trettin of Kaukauna; and two sisters and brothers in-law, Viola and Herman Sasanoski and Charlotte and Clarence Frievel, all of Kaukauna.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo, in 1986, and a sister and brother in-law, Beatrice and Edward Sasnowski. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Fargo Funeral Home, Kaukauna with the pastor Harvey Kandler officiating. Burial will be in the Highland Memorial Park in Appleton. Friends may call at the Fargo Funeral Home, 400 W. Wisconsin Ave., from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. A memorial fund has been established for the Immanual United Church of Christ Church School Bibles.

    Verkuilen, Viola Amanda Viola Amanda Verkuilen, Kaukauna, age 92, died April 28, 2007, at Brewster Village. She was born November 6, 1914, to the late Otto and Emma (Mantei) Grimm in Kaukauna, where her father worked for the railroad. Viola quit school in her junior year in Kaukauna, and then worked in a few restaurants, Harold Frank Grocery Store, her husband's plumbing shop as a book keeper, all in Kaukauna, and then for Fairlane 5 & 10 in Appleton. She was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Little Chute. On April 2, 1933, Viola Grimm became the bride of Louis Martin VerKuilen at Holy Cross Priest House and together they raised three children. Viola was baptized at Immanuel Evangelical & Reformed Church now Immanuel United Church of Christ where she became a member in 1929, and has remained an active member ever since. Not only did she serve in the Women's Guild and its Circles, but she was also a part of the Prayer Circle.

    She is survived by two sons: DuWayne (Shirley) VerKuilen, Shawano; Ronald (Nancy) VerKuilen, Little Chute; a daughter, Patricia (Frank) Lamers, Combined Locks; 16 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Emma Grimm; her husband Louis in 1987; a great granddaughter, Danielle Pleshek; three brothers: Elmer, Carl and an infant brother Walter.

    Memorial Service for Viola will be held Thursday May 3, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Immanuel United Church of Christ, 510 Sullivan, Kaukauna with Pastor Melinda Feller officiating. Friends may call at church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established.

    The family would like to thank the staff at Brewster Village, especially Judy, for the care they gave Viola as well as Theda Care Hospice for the compassion they gave Mom during her final days.

  • Note: DuWayne Louis "Wayne" VerKuilen, age 77, passed away on Friday, February 24, 2012 at Cherry Meadows Hospice in Appleton. Wayne was born on September 13, 1934 in Kaukauna, son of the late Louis and Viola (Grimm) VerKuilen. He graduated from Kaukauna High School in 1953 then joined the United States Air Force, where he served in Laon, France until 1958. While there, he was recruited for the Air Force volleyball team, which went on to play for the world title. On October 18, 1958, he was married to Shirley Gresl. Wayne had many fond memories working for his father and brother in the family plumbing shop, and then as a City Inspector for the City of Kaukauna. Wayne lived in Kaukauna for most of his life until his retirement. After he retired, he and Shirley spent many happy winters at Hoopy's RV Park in San Jaun, TX, and summers at Shawano Lake. Wayne was a longtime Packer ticket holder, card club member, world traveler, and Friday Fish supporter with many family, friends, and close neighbors. He was a member of the Northeast Wisconsin Builders Assoc., the Wisconsin Plumbers Assoc., and the Kaukauna VFW Post 3319.

    Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Shirley; five children, Vicki (William) Gooding, Appleton, Daniel (Bonnie Nastoff) VerKuilen, Black Creek, Steven (Michelle) VerKuilen, Pleasanton, CA, Richard (Patti Lauer) VerKuilen, Kaukauna, and Michael (Libby) VerKuilen, Peoria, IL; eight grandchildren, Angelica, Alex, Ben, Chris, Katie, Tracie, Max, and Trent; a brother, Ronald (Nancy) VerKuilen, Dallas, GA; a sister, Patricia Lamers, Combined Locks; brothers-in-law, Al (Carolyn) Gresl and Walter (Jackie) Gresl; sisters-in-law, Doris Gresl and Betty (Jim) Biese; and many nieces and nephews. He was further preceded in death by a granddaughter, Danielle.

    A memorial service for Wayne will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 4, 2012 at HIGHLAND MEMORIAL PARK, STAR OF HOPE CHAPEL MAUSOLEUM, 3131 N. Richmond St., Appleton, with Rev. Judy Deckert officiating. Wayne's family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday at the Mausoleum from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of the service.

  • Note: Bit. Green Bay Press Gazette 4-24-2005 Loraine F. Falck, 96, Green Bay, formerly of Morrison, went to her heavenly home on Thursday , April 21, 2005, at a Green Bay hospital. Loraine was born Sept. 21, 1908, in the town of Wr ightstown to the late Mathew and Petranella (Van Dyke) Van Dyke. She married Robert P. Falc k on Dec. 31, 1931, at Zion Morrison. Loraine graduated from Outagamie Teachers College and t hen taught at Morrison Public School. She was a charter member of the Morrison Zion Luthera n ladies aid, an active member of Morrison Homemakers Club. Loraine was employed at Falck’s G eneral Store in Morrison for many years and was a former leader of the Morrison 4-H Club. Lor aine enjoyed bowling, playing cards and working crossword puzzles.

    Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Edward and Sue, Sheboygan; Paul and Virgin ia, De Pere; James and Linda, Scottsdale, Ariz.; one daughter and son-in-law, Judith and Gera ld Sargent, Green Bay; twelve grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews , other relatives and many friends.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert P. Falck, in 1967; an infant daughter, Jane , in 1942; two brothers, John and Edward; and two sisters, Helen and Mayme.

    Friends may call on Monday, April 25, 2005, after 4 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Morrison, ( 7395 County Road W) until time of service. Funeral service at 6 p.m. at the church with Rev . Randy Ott officiating. Burial in the church cemetery.

    WAYSIDE - MORRISON
    Robert P. Falck, 63, route 2, Greenleaf, died Monday evening at his home after a long illness.
    He was born in the town of Morris on June 6, 1903, a son of Mrs. Frank P. Falck and the late Mr. Fal:ck.
    He graduated from De Pere high school, Northwestern college at Watertown and the University Of Wisconsin. He married the former Lorraine Van Dyke Dec. 30, 1931 in t.he town of Morrison. Mr. Falck worked in his father's heating and plumbing and .general merchandising business. Alfter the death of his father, he and. his brother, Karl Falck, operated the business as a partnership. Mr. Falck was a director and chairman of the board of the State Bank of Greenleaf, a member of the Morrison fire department, a charter member and past president of the Wayside-Morrison Lions dub, deputy diistrict governor of 27-B Lions dub, a member of the Zion Lutheran Men's club and a leader of 4-H dub.
    Survivors are his wife; his mother, Mrs. Frank (Seefeldt) Falck; three sons, Edward of Sheboygan, Paul of route, 1, De Pere and James of Madison; one daughter, :Mrs. Gerald (Judith) Sargelllt of Green Bay; one brother, Karl of Morrison and seven grandchildren. One daughter preceded him in death.
    The body Is at the Nickel Funeral Home where friends may call alf.ter 2 o'clock this afternoon. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 1:30 at the funeral home and at 2 p.m. at the Morrison Zion Lutheran church. Dr. H. A. Koch will ofificiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. A memorial fund has
