  • Note: Police do not suspect foul play in connection to a body found in an abandoned semi truck in Ashwaubenon, according to Ashwaubenon Public Safety.

Police say an employee of Wisconsin Kenworth discovered the body in the cab of the truck early Tuesday morning.

“One of the employees entered one of the cabs that was parked out in the storage lot and came across a body that was inside the cab,” said Chief Eric J. Dunning, Ashwaubenon Dept. of Public Safety. “It was apparent that the body had been there for a long period of time.”

Dunning says the person was not a driver or owner of the semi, police don’t suspect foul play, but it’s not obvious how or when the person died.

“We think it happened during the winter months or early spring because of the clothing that was on the body. It appears to be in the winter. We’re just assuming that possibly someone may have been homeless, was coming through the area, pulled on some cab doors, crawled up in there and had some type of a medical episode,” Dunning told Action 2 News.

“We’re learning that the semi tractor itself had been on the lot for quite a long period of time. The company that was using the tractor went out of business and it was in the process of being stored there,” he said.

Investigators say they found identification on the body, so they suspect they know who it is. At this time, they won’t say whether they found drugs or alcohol inside the cab.

“It’s all part of the scene and you know once we identify the body and reach out to the family members we’re going to get more of the pieces of the puzzle put together,” Dunning said Tuesday afternoon.

ASHWAUBENON - Police have identified 61-year-old Ronald Ambrosius, of Green Bay, as the man whose body was found Tuesday morning in the cab of a semi truck.

Ambrosius's body was discovered at 6:42 a.m. Tuesday by an employee at the Wisconsin Kenworth dealership on Mike McCarthy Way.

Eric Dunning, Chief of Ashwaubenon Public Safety, said Ambrosius had winter clothing on, meaning he had likely been in the truck for a long time. He said the truck had been parked on the lot since early fall.

Authorities said Ambrosius had not been reported missing, but declined to release additional information pending determination of the cause of Ambrosius' death.

Officials used personal items found with Ambrosius' body to identify him.
