    Buechel, Robert P.


    Robert "Bob" Peter Buechel, 69, De Pere, was welcomed into Heaven Monday, July 6, 2009, with his family by his side. He was born October 17, 1939, in Wrightstown to the late Albert and Florence (McCormick) Buechel. He graduated from St. Norbert High School in 1957 and earned his business degree from St. Norbert College. After his service in the Army he returned to Green Bay and began his 36-year career at Procter & Gamble. On May 21, 1963, he married Margaret "Reetz" Van Zeeland at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kaukauna.

    Bob was an avid fisherman and sportsman. He was proud to have hunted with the same group of hunters for 40 consecutive years. He remained true to his farming roots by restoring antique Farmall tractors. In his retirement years, he enjoyed spending time with his wife and family at their cottage in Eagle River, Wisconsin.

    Survivors include his loving wife of 46 years, Reetz; four children: Barb (Steve) Sauvey; Sue (Norb) Hockers; Bill (Jennifer) Buechel; and Kristin (Larry) Lambrecht; five grandchildren: Keira and Matthew Hockers; Meghan and Emilie Buechel; and Daniel Lambrecht; sister, Margaret Wilz; brothers, Tom (Judy) Buechel and Fran Buechel; three sisters-in-law: Carol DeBruin; Joan Voet; and Mary (Tom) Kalupa; and two brothers-in-law: Bernie (Bonnie) Van Zeeland and Ed (Patti) Van Zeeland. He will also be dearly missed by his many nieces, nephews, Godchildren, and friends.

    Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Florence; younger brother, William Michael Buechel who passed away in 1957; and brothers-in-law: Roger Braun; Dick Wilz; Tom DeBruin; and Dan Voet.

    This celebration of his life returns him to his roots at St. Paul Catholic Church, Wrightstown.

    Family and friends may call Thursday, July 9, 2009, at St. Clare Parish/St. Paul Catholic Church, 437 Main St., Wrightstown, from 4 to 8 p.m., with a parish prayer service at 7 p.m.. Visitation will continue on Friday at the church from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the church, Friday, at 11 a.m., with Msgr. Roy Klister officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Catholic Cemetery. Cotter Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be expressed to Bob's family at www.cotter funeralhome.com.

  • Note: John L Clarke of Appleton, age 65, passed away on Monday, August 10, 2015, at 4:41 p.m. at Select Specialty Hospital, Madison WI, after a 3 ½ year battle against cancer and heart disease. John was born on October 6, 1949 in Washington DC and is the son of the late Louis and Thelma Clarke. He married Karen Lopas (Franke) at First English Lutheran Church in Appleton on April 29, 1988 and enjoyed 27 years of marriage (33 years together in total).

    John had a 30 plus year career starting in 1973 as a machinist and advanced to estimator/inside sales with Fox River Tool & Die. He later moved into general sales and sales management with Kimberly Clark Kimtech, Specialty Research & Instrumentation, Lindquist Machine, O & E Machine, Gremar Metal, and Baum Machine and, on April 27, 2012, retired from JJ Plank/Badger Roll.

    John, a graduate of Appleton East, attended the University of Kentucky briefly in 1972. From 1973 through 1977, John attended Fox Valley Technical College, completing the four-year apprenticeship program as a machinist. In addition, in 2011, he graduated from the Wood Technologies program.

    In 1970, John volunteered his service to the United States Armed Forces. He was honorably discharged in September 1973, having served as a probation officer and director of youth activities.

    John enjoyed life. He absolutely loved hunting and fishing and thoroughly enjoyed golf and travel. John was onboard when it came time to try something new. Mostly, he loved people. His joy for life was unquestionable and his friends, many.

    He is survived by his wife, Karen Clarke (Franke), a step-son Ryan Lopas of Wisconsin, brother-in-law Richard (Carolyn) Franke of Florida, sister-in-law Barbara Giesen of Kentucky, sister-in-law Jean Franke Sheridan of Wisconsin, Dolly (Richard) George of Oregon and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is further survived by close friends Bob Lutz of Wisconsin, Dan Olson of Minnesota, John Richardson of Wisconsin, Curt Keely of Wisconsin and many close friends and neighbors.

    He is preceded in death by his father and mother Louis and Thelma Clarke, his sister Janet Liebert, his son Shane Clarke, mother and father-in-law LaVerne and Wallace Franke, brothers-in-law Doug Franke, Neil Sheridan, and John Geisen, good friends Bob Pollen and Jim McDonald and many uncles, aunts and cousins.

    Funeral services will be conducted at First English Lutheran Church, 326 East North Street in Appleton on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at 2:00pm with Rev. Bryan Schmidt officiating. There will be a visitation at the church on Thursday from 12:00pm to 2:00pm. A gathering to celebrate John's life will be held on Thursday afternoon starting at 4:00pm at Emmett's Bar and Grill, 139 North Richmond Street in Appleton. Casual attire is encouraged at Emmett's.

    A special thanks to Dr. Guenther and all the medical professionals at Fox Valley Hematology & Oncology. Their loving kindness and quick response to each crisis made possible 3 1/2 wonderful extra years of life. John struggled but valued every minute given to him. Also, thanks to Dr. Alaswad, formerly of Appleton Cardiology Associates, to Appleton Medical Center Oncology, Emergency, and ICU departments, to Mercy Gilbert Hospital ICU and Emergency departments in Gilbert Arizona and to Select Specialty Hospital in Madison. Each and every nurse, CNA, therapist, and technician contributed toward giving John the extra time he so very much wanted.

    In lieu of flowers donations will be forwarded to the Salvation Army.

He was born on August 25, 1943 in Appleton the son of the late Andrew A. and Catherine (Wendel) Stumpf. He served his country in the United States Navy as a Medical Corpsman at the Naval Hospital in Portsmouth, Virginia. He resided on the Stumpf family farm on Manitowoc road all of his life. He enjoyed auto racing and playing softball at the Town of Harrison softball diamond. He was a member of the American Legion Post of Darboy. He is survived by his two brothers Andrew (Sharon) Stumpf of Kimberly and Jesse (Lavonne) Stumpf of Neenah; his nieces: Amy (Jeff) Crozier of Appleton, Susan (Mark) Dietz of DePere, and Jenny (Scott) Schroeter of Manitowoc; and his nephews: Barry (Lori) Stumpf of Little Chute, Michael (Christine) Stumpf of Superior, Eric (Marcie) Stumpf of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Justin (Terri) Stiper of Milwaukee; and an aunt Martha Wendel of New Holstein. David was preceded in death by several aunts and uncles. The mass of Christian Burial will be conducted on Tuesday, December 7, 2004 at 11:00 AM at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Darboy with the Rev. Tom Pomeroy officiating. Interment with military honors will take place at Holy Angels Catholic Cemetery in Darboy. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 AM until the time of the mass. A memorial fund is being established.
