He was born May 29, 1925, son of the late Peter and Mary (Luniek) Hartzheim. Marvin was a WWII Army Veteran serving in Greenland and Japan. He was employed by Thilmany Paper Co. his entire working career until his retirement. On May 17, 1958 he was united in marriage to Genevieve "Jenny" Arnoldussen at St. Mary Church in Kaukauna and together they celebrated 57 years of marriage.

    He is survived by his three sons: Gary, Guy, and Michael; two granddaughters: Olivia and Gina; a brother, Lester Hartzheim; a sister, Gertrude Raymaker; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Sr. Mary Arnoldussen, Phyllis Van Deraa, Ervin (Donna) Arnoldussen, Dale (Mary) Arnoldussen, Pat Arnoldussen, John Arnoldussen, Joseph Arnoldussen, and Jan Arnoldussen.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Jenny in 2006, brothers and sisters: Vincent (Vonnie), Bea (Paul) Ashauer, Bernice (Arnold) Coonen, Larry Hartzheim, Mabel (Clint) Kohl, Agnes Van Rossum, Peter Hartzheim; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Virginia Hartzheim, Joe Raymaker, Theresa (Walter) Rosenthal, Gene (Eunice) Onkels, Marvin Van Deraa, Bernice Effa (Ben) Harris, Gladys (Gus) Sack, Gerald Arnoldussen, Clayton Arnoldussen, Joyce (John) Arnoldussen, Carol (Joe) Arnoldussen, Cathy (Joe) Arnoldussen, and Frank Effa.

    The Mass of Christian Burial for Marvin will be at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL PARISH at St. Aloysius Site, 2401 Main Ave., Kaukauna with Fr. Jerry Pastors officiating. Friends may call on Monday, February 24, 2014 at BOETTCHER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 2401 Fieldcrest Dr., Kaukauna from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 pm., with a parish prayer service at 7:00 p.m. concluding the evening.     Hartzheim, Genevieve (Jenny) Arnoldussen Genevieve (Jenny) Arnoldussen Hartzheim, Kaukauna, age 74, died on Sunday, August 20, 2006, at Colony Oak Care Center. Jenny was born at home in Kaukauna on February 14, 1932, to the late Lucy and Edward Arnoldussen. On May 17, 1958, she married Marvin Hartzheim at St. Mary's Church in Kaukauna. Besides working full and part time at Piggly Wiggly, Jenny volunteered at Kaukauna Community Hospital and St. Paul's Home. As a member of St. Aloysius church she volunteered for the Christmas and Funeral choir, Eucharistic Minister, Den Mother for a Cub Scout Group and at funeral dinners. Jenny was devoted to her daily prayers. She loved to play cards and walk especially with her sister Eunice, deceased.

    Jenny is survived by husband, Marvin; three sons: Gary, Guy, and Michael; two granddaughters: Olivia Marie and Gina Ann, all of Kaukauna; her sisters: Theresa Rosenthal, Brillion; Phyllis Van Derraa, Kaukauna; Sister Mary Arnoldussen, Menasha; brothers: John Arnoldussen, Palm Springs, CA; Joseph Arnoldussen, Appleton; Ervin Arnoldussen, Kaukauna; Dale Arnoldussen, Kaukauna; sisters-in-law: Jan Arnoldussen, Wild Rose; Pat Arnoldussen, Donna Arnoldussen and Mary Arnoldussen, all of Kaukauna; brothers-in-law: Gene Onkels and Marvin Van Deraa, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Lucy and Edward Arnoldussen, sisters: Bernice Effa Harris, Gladys Sack, and Eunice Onkels; brothers: Gerald Arnoldussen and Clayton Arnoldussen; sisters-in-law: Joyce Arnoldussen, Carol Arnoldussen, and Cathy Arnoldussen, brothers-in-law: Frank Effa, Ben Harris, Gus Sack, and Walter Rosenthal, four nieces, three nephews, three great nieces and two great nephews.

    Jenny's funeral service will be 4 p.m. Wednesday, August 23, 2006, at ST. ALOYSIUS CATHOLIC CHURCH in Kaukauna with Fr. Jerry Pastors officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 1 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established. Boettcher Family Funeral Home, Kaukauna is assisting the family.

    Marvin and his sons would like to thank the Special Unit at Colony Oak Care Center for their great care they extended to Jenny throughout her illness.

    Age 29, passed away Sunday afternoon after a swimming accident on the Wisconsin River in Iowa County. He was born June 29, 1940 in Darboy. He graduated from Holy Angels Grade School and from Kaukauna High School in 1958 and attended the University of Wisconsin at Madison and at the present time was employed at the University Library. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and MRs. Peter Hartzheim, Kaukauna; four brothers, Vincent and Marvin, both of Kaukauna; Lawrence, Milwaukee; Lester, Appleton; five sisters, Mrs. Paul (Beatrice) Ashauer, Mrs. Arnold (Bernice) Coenen, Mrs. John (Agnes) Van Rossum, all of Appleton; Mrs. Clinton (Mabel) Kohl, Neenah; and Mrs. Joseph (Gertrude) Raymaker, Cmbined Locks. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at ST. Mary CAtholic Church, Kaukauna. Interment will be in the Holy Angels Cemetery Darboy, Rev. Charles Fredericks officiating. Friends may call at the Greenwood Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Wednesday. Rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m. Wednesday evening.

  • Note: Oscar E. Kunz, of Kaukauna, age 84, died on Thursday, May 17, 2007, at UW Hospital in Madison with his family by his side. Oscar was born September 18, 1922, to the late John and Helen (Grabowsky) Kunz in Antigo, WI. He married the former Jan Furman on December 27, 1947, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Winneconne. Oscar enlisted into the U.S. Army in 1942 and served during World War II until his honorable discharge in 1945. He earned a Purple Heart during his time in the military. Oscar worked for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad as a Fireman and an Engineer for 38 years until his retirement in 1984.
    He was a longtime member of St. Mary Catholic Church, was a Past Exalted Ruler for the Kaukauna Elks Lodge 962, and enjoyed memberships with the VFW Post 3319, Fox Valley Country Club, and Wimpy's Tuesday Card Club. Oscar enjoyed his year round cabin on Upper Post Lake as well as boating, fishing and golf.
    He is survived by his wife, Janice "Jan" Kunz; his six children: Mary (Jim Wieczorek) Mathis, Jean (Ron) Brinkman, Jane (Mark) Kavanaugh, Sue Kunz, Patricia Johns, and John Kunz; nine grandchildren: Heather, Jaqueline and Jed Mathis, Dean (Heather) Brinkman, Shannon (Eli) Peter and Tanya Brinkman, Katie (Cam) Coffey, Tracy Kavanaugh-Moes, Dillon Kunz; thirteen great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Ethelyn Theisen; and many nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Ruth; two sons-in-law, William Mathis and Daniel Johns; brothers and sisters-in-law: Lyle (Joan) Furman, George (Phyllis) Brown and William Theisen.
    The Mass of Christian Burial will be 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 22, 2007, at ST. MARY of the ANNUNCIATION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 119 West Seventh Street, Kaukauna, with Fr. Jerry Pastors officiating. Friends will be received on Tuesday at Church from 2 p.m. until the time of service. Full Military Burial Rites will be performed by VFW Post 3319 outside of Church following Oscar's service.   • Note: Cletus J. Ertl, Little Chute, age 88 passed away peacefully on Saturday July 23, 2011 with his family at his side. He was born on April 21, 1923 to the late Joseph and Mary (Winters) Ertl. Cletus married Eunice De Bruin on February 19, 1944 at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church and was happily married for 67 years. He worked for Kimberly Clark Corporation for 24 years. Cletus then worked as an accountant for IDS and had his own accounting business. He was also a professional photographer. Cletus was an accomplished musician and played with the Tony Winters Orchestra. He had a passion for big band music. Cletus proudly shared his love of music with his two sons and his grandson Cole and by writing his own musical arrangements. He can now share his passion with everyone in Heaven.

    Cletus is survived by his wife, Eunice; five daughters: Arlene (Dan) Merkel, Elm Grove; Jane (Don) Polinski, Waukesha; Susan (Dave) Laha, Appleton; Rose (Vincent) Lamers, Little Chute; and Carol (Trevor) Frank, Menasha; daughter-in-law: Bonnie Ertl; grandchildren: Andy Merkel, Jesse (Kenda) Brunette, Vicki and Mark (Danielle) Polinski, Brooke (special friend Hank Pace) and Nick Laha, Vance, Cole and Logan Lamers, Tracee (Mike) Cole and Brian Ertl; great grandchildren: Tylor, Brennon and Leah; brothers and sister: Wilbur Ertl, Donald (Dorothy) Ertl and Lois (Donald) Thiel; and brother-in-law Donald Sielaff. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

    In addition to his parents, Cletus was preceded in death by his sons, Anthony and William; sister Joan Sielaff; sister-in-law Marion Ertl; and members of Eunice's family.

    Visitation will be held Wednesday July 27, 2011 at ST. JOHN NEPOMUCENE CATHOLIC CHURCH (323 S. Pine St. Little Chute) beginning at 3:00 p.m. until time of Mass at 5:00 p.m. The Fr.   • Note: Eunice Ertl, Little Chute, 89, passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at St. Elizabeth Hospital. She was born May 20, 1925, in Little Chute, daughter of William and Anna (Evers) DeBruin. Eunice married Cletus J. Ertl, February 19, 1944, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church and he preceded her in death July 23, 2011. She was a member of the Christian Mothers, the Card Club and Mission Club. Eunice was a homemaker all her life raising seven children. She enjoyed making homemade bread and bakery items and doing crossword puzzles. She prayed the Rosary daily and listened to Relevant Radio every morning.

    Eunice is survived by five daughters: Arlene (Dan) Merkel, Elm Grove; Jane (Don) Polinski, Waukesha; Susan (Dave) Laha, Appleton; Rose (Vincent) Lamers, Little Chute and Carol (Trevor) Frank, Menasha; grandchildren: Andy Merkel, Jesse (Kenda) Brunette, Vicki (Shauywn) Smith, Mark (Danielle) Polinski, Brooke (special friend, Hank Pace) and Nick Laha; Vance, Cole and Logan Lamers; Tracee (Mike) Cole and Brian Ertl; great grandchildren: Tylor, Brennan, Leah, Hannah, Natalie and Henry; Cletus' siblings: Wilbur Ertl, Donald (Dorothy) Ertl and Lois (Donald) Thiel; sisters-in-law: Connie and Margaret DeBruin; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends including special friend, Elaine VandenBerg.

    She was also preceded in death by her parents; her sons: Anthony and William; her siblings: Della, Dorothy, Betty, Richard, Grace, Donald and Florence and also Cletus's sister, Joan (Donald) Sielaf.

    Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. Monday, July 7, 2014, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, 323 S. Pine Street, Little Chute with Msgr. James Vanden Hogen officiating. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Sherwood. Visitation will be at the church from 3:00 p.m. Monday until the time of the Mass.

    Anthony C. Ertl “Tony”

    Age 59, of Spring Lake Michigan passed away unexpectedly Sunday, September 11, 2005 in Elk Rapids. Tony was born September 8, 1946 to Cletus and Eunice ( De Bruin ) Ertl in Little Chute and he married Bonnie M. Wolf in 1968 in Wisconsin. He served in the National Guard duting the Viet Nam War; and he had been employed McKinley Trucking. He was formerly employed in the leather industry. Tony was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Spring Lake and he loved music-the accordion, guitar’ and banjo. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and his grandchildren.

    Survivors include his wife Bonnie; daughter, Tracee ( Mike ) Cole of Ypsilanti, Michigan; a son, Brian Ertl of Spring Lake, Michigan; grandchildren, Tylor and Brennon Cole ; his parents, Cletus and Eunice Ertl of Wisconsin; five sisters; Arlene ( Dan ) Merkel, Jane ( Don ) Polinski, Sue ( Dave ) Laha, Rosie ( Vince ) Lamers and Carol Martin all of Wisconsin; his brother Billy Ertl of Wisconsin; several nieces and nephews.

    A funeral liturgy for Anthony “Tony” C. Ertl will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. Leonard Sudlik as celebrant. Friends may meet the family at church one hour prior to the service. Memorials to Breast Cancer Research or to a charity of the donor's choice are appreciated.
