    George J. Roovers, age 82, of Kaukauna, died unexpectedly Wednesday morning, February 23, 2005. He was born September 2, 1922, to the late Frank and Jacoba (Van Beek) Roovers, in Kimberly, where he was a resident, until moving to Kaukauna in 1963. George served with the U. S. Army Air Corps, during WW II, with the 456 Bomb Group in Italy. He married Lillian Elsworth, May 12, 1951; she preceded him in death September 28, 2001. George had been employed by Kimberly Clark Corporation, at the Kimberly Mill, for 41 years, retiring in 1987. He enjoyed all Wisconsin sports teams especially the Packer and fishing. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the American Legion. He is survived by four daughters, Pamela (Jim) Garvey, Freedom; Debra Onkels, St. Francis, WI; Linda (Terry) Wright, Darboy; Amy (Wayne) Koehler, New London; eight grandchildren, Jason (Tonya) Garvey, Matt Garvey, Karl Onkels, Kassy Onkels, Chad Wright and his special friend, Abby, Melissa Wright and her fiancé, Jeff, Marcus Koehler and Weston Koehler; three great grandchildren, Kobe, Jadyn and Emma Garvey. He is further survived by two sisters, Ann Baumann, Kimberly; Martha (Clarence) Hackel, Seymour; four brothers, Tom (Doris) Roovers, Kimberly; Joe Roovers, Appleton; Frank Roovers and his special friend, Shirley, Little Chute; Marty (Phyllis) Roovers, Combined Locks. He was preceded in death by his son Mike J. Roovers, in 1988, three brothers and four sisters. The funeral ceremony for George will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, February 26, 2005, at the funeral home, with Father Bob Udulutsch officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Kaukauna. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9:00 am, Saturday, until the time of the service. A memorial fund is being established.

Jack was born in Appleton on May 7, 1935 the son of the late Emery Julius and Vera (Meidam) Barrett. On June 20, 1974 Jack married Jackie Mueller in Dubuque, Iowa. He served in the U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife: Jackie Barrett, Waupaca; his children: Blake (Brenda) Barrett, Waupaca; Lori (AJ) Tranter, Dale; Sheli (Rick) Paez, Appleton and Michael (Tammi) Barrett, Greenfield. Also surviving are his 8 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and his brother: James (Diane) Barrett, Appleton and a niece, nephew, great nieces and a nephew.

    A Celebration of Jack's Life will be on Sunday, November 17 at 3 PM at Hidden Waters in Waupaca.

    Age 87, died Wednesday, January 14, 2004, at Appleton Medical Center. Clarissa was born on November 5, 1916, in Chilton, to the late Henry and Leona (Stahl) Salm. She married Alvin Arnold on September 7, 1940; he preceded her in death in 1957. Clarissa then married Milan Gardner in 1976; he preceded her in death in 1993. She enjoyed knitting, bingo, card playing and bowling. With her husband Alvin, she farmed in Freedom until 1957; she then was employed at Piggly Wiggly in Appleton. Survivors include her daughter, Marjorie Collar, Cloverleaf Lakes, Wisconsin; her grandchildren, Robert Collar, Gerald Collar (fiancé Laurie); Lynette (Russell) Beyer; Robbie (Ann) Arnold; and Jason Peterson; her great grandchildren, Lindy, Louis, and Mariah Collar; her step-children, Richard (Muriel) Gardner, Germaine (Pat) Anderson, and Janet (Jim) Nystrom; also her step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren; and her sisters-in-law, Loretta Arnold, Marie Arnold and Jean Arnold. She was preceded in death by her sons, Robert Arnold and Leonard Arnold; her three brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2004, at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, Appleton, with Rev. Ralph C. Waack officiating. Friends may call directly at the funeral home on Saturday from 5:00 p.m. until the time of services. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park. A memorial has been established in her name. Milan married the former Clarissa Arnold on Jan. 31, 1976 in Appleton. She survives. He was a retired truck driver for Foreway Express. He retired in 1974 after 30 years of service. Survivors include a son, Richard (Muriel) Gardner of Kimberly; two daughters Germaine (Pat) Anderson of Appleton and Janet (Jim ) Nystrom of Appleton; a step daughter Marge Collar of Appleton; a brother Chester Gardner of Appleton; a sister Violet Schwamer of Birnamwood; nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren; nine step grandchildren, seven step great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Milan was preceded in death by his first wife Lorraine who died in 1975;three brothers, Lee, Elmer and Ray and a sister Mathilda Gehring. Funeral services will be held 2 pm Tuesday, November 9 at the Wichman Funeral Home.
    Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call Tuesday from 1 pm until the time of services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established.
