  • Note: Joe Diederich, Sherwood, age 89 died peacefully on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at his home. He was born on June 17, 1928 in Sherwood, WI son of the late Joe Sr. and Mae (Price) Diederich. Joe married Carole Huhn at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sherwood. The couple lived in Sherwood and enjoyed 63 years together prior to her death on January 4, 2015. Joe was Sherwood's unofficial "historian" and always had a story to tell. He enjoyed the Packers and especially the Brewers. He liked to ride around on his John Deere lawn mower, sturgeon fishing, dancing, and going to "Countryside" for burger Wednesday. Joe was an active charter member of the Sherwood Lions, a retired Town of Harrison Fireman, and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sherwood. He loved to feed the birds and his one squirrel "George". Joe will be remembered for phoning family members and singing happy birthday on their special day.

    He is survived by his children: Pat ("Cork") Diederich, Kaukauna and Becky (Wayne) Schaefer, Sherwood; three grandchildren: Ross (Kate) Diederich, Freedom, and their children, his great-grandchildren, Jacob and Vivian; Candie Ackerman, Austin, TX and Shane (Emily)Schaefer, Sun Prairie; sisters-in-law: Grace Bauer, Sherwood and Helen (Bob) Schiffering, Mosinee; numerous nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his wife, Carole, an infant son, Matthew; granddaughter, Amber Jo; a sister, Florence (Alan) Fahrbach; in-laws: Tom (Mary) Huhn, Dennis (Rose) Huhn, David (Shirley) Huhn, Ruth (Gene) Mauer, Orly Bauer, Rita (Gene) Schneider.

    Funeral Services for Joe will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at St. John-Sacred Heart Catholic Church, N369 Military, Sherwood with Fr. Michael Betley officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery.     Joe & Carole Diederich, N425 Meehl St., Sherwood, celebrated 50 years of marriage with a Sept. 8 dinner & dance at High Cliff Supper Club. The former Carole Huhn became Joe's bride Sept. 16, 1952 at Sacred Heart Church in Sherwood, where they've lived their whole lives. Joe retired in 1990 from American Can, and Carole has her own beauty salon. They have 2 children, Pat (Cork), Kaukauna and Rebecca (Wayne) Schaefer.     Carole M. Diederich, nee Huhn, Sherwood, age 84, died on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. She was born September 27, 1930 in Appleton, WI, daughter of the late Matthew and Felice (Kronschnabel) Huhn. On September 17, 1952 Carole married Joe Diederich at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sherwood. The couple lived in Sherwood their entire married lives. She operated Carole's Beauty Salon for over 40 years from her home. Carole enjoyed snowmobiling, sturgeon spearing, making cherry bounce, and also armchair coaching the Packers and Brewers. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Legion Auxiliary, and "The Red Hats".

    She is survived by her husband, Joe; her children: Pat ("Cork") Diederich, Kaukauna and Becky (Wayne) Schaefer, Sherwood; 3 grandchildren: Ross (Kate) Diederich, Darboy, and their son - her great-grandchild, Jacob, Candie (Ben) Ackerman, Austin, TX, and Shane (Emily) Schaefer, Stoughton; 3 sisters: Grace Bauer, Sherwood, Helen (Bob) Schifferling, Mosinee and Rita Schneider, Port Edwards; a sister-in-law, Shirley Huhn, Little Chute; a brother-in-law, Gene Mauer, Sherwood; numerous nieces and nephews.

    She was preceded in death by an infant son, Matthew, granddaughter, Amber Jo; 3 brothers and 2 sisters-in-law: Tom (Mary), Dennis (Rose), and David; a sister, Ruth Mauer; and brothers-in-law: Orly Bauer and Gene Schneider.

    Mass of Christian Burial for Carole will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at ST. JOHN-SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH, N369 Military Rd., Sherwood with Fr. Michael Betley officiating.     Age 84, died Thursday, December 15, 1994 at home. Leonard was born February 28, 1910 in Isaar to the late parents Paul and Emma [Meyer] Landwehr. Leonard married Petronella VanderZanden on April 11, 1932 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Oneida. Leonard was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters.

    Survivors include her husband, Leonard; four daughters and sons in-law, Dorothy and Gerald Leisgang, Green Bay; Betty and Gerald Wolff, St. Petersburg, Florida; Kathleen and Brad Jameson, Oneida; Carol and Allen Lamers, Green Bay; three sons and daughters in-law,Leonard and Vi Landwehr Jr., De Pere; Ronald and Rosemary Landwehr, De Pere; Richard and Karin Landwehr, Appleton; 36 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; three brothers, Wilbert Landwehr, Green Bay; Donald and Marion Landwehr, Green Bay; Vernon and Carol Landwehr, Oneida; three sisters; Bernice and Henry Dombrowski, Green Bay; Rita and Clarence Haase, Green Bay; Susan Schmidt, Green Bay; a brother in-law, Lawrence Daoust, Tomahawk; two sisters in-law, Grace Landwehr and Frances Landwehr, both of De Pere.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Nell; three brothers, four sisters, an infant son; a grandson, Todd.

    Friends can call at the Ryan Funeral Home, De Pere from 4- 9 p.m. today and fom 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Saturday when the funeral procession leaves for the church. Wake services 7 p.m. today.     Age 79, died Wednesday morning October 28, 1992 at a local hospital. The former Petronella VanderZanden was born March 28, 1913 in Kimberly. She was the daughter of the late Peter and Petronella [Van Dyke] VanderZanden. On April 11, 1932 she married Leonard Landwehr at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Oneida. Neil was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters and the Christian Mothers Society.

    Survivors include her husband, Leonard; four daughters and sons in-law, Dorothy and Gerald Leisgang, Green Bay; Betty and Gerald Wolff, St. Petersburg, Florida; Kathleen and Brad Jameson, Oneida; Carol and Allen Lamers, Green Bay; three sons and daughters in-law,Leonard and Vi Landwehr Jr., De Pere; Ronald and Rosemary Landwehr, De Pere; Richard and Karin Landwehr, Appleton; 36 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; a brother and sister in-law, Martin and Sally VanderZanden, Combined Locks.

    She was preceded in death by an infant son; a grandson, Todd Landwehr; seven sisters and a brother.

    Funeral services 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic, De Pere with the Rev. Gilbert Jacobs officiating. Entombment in the Shrine of Good Shepherd Mausoleum. Friends may call at the Ryan Funeral Home, De Pere after 4 p.m. Friday. St. Joseph Women's Group will recite the rosary at 6:30 p.m. Prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Visitation also after 9 a.m. Saturday at the church until the time of service.
