  • Note: Lorraine "Honey" Schwalbach, 95, Little Chute, peacefully took her last breath on July 27, 2015, after spending exactly 35,000 days on earth. She was born to the late Henry and Mary (Weyenberg) Emmers on September 5, 1919. Her mother passed away when she was three years old. She said that's when people said she was a "Little Honey" and the name stuck. She truly was a honey of a person. She married George Schwalbach III on April 30, 1941. They farmed the family homestead until George's death in 1995.

    Honey loved playing cards and was always ready for a good game of Cribbage, Sheepshead or Rummy. In fact, she played her last winning cribbage game against her grandson, George, just hours before her passing. She was a member of the Jacob Coppus Post 258 Auxiliary in Little Chute. She always had a smile on her face, enjoyed family and friends and never spoke a negative word about anyone. Honey will truly be missed by all who knew her.

    She is survived by a daughter, Sansee (Dick) Hietpas; daughter in law, Pat (Greg) Van Zeeland; granddaughters, Lori Hietpas, Amy Daul, Melissa (Jon) Rodon and Heidi Hietpas; grandson, George V (Jessie) Schwalbach; great grandchildren, Amanda, Rob and Niki Daul, Jaide Hietpas, Vince Hietpas, Kailee and George VI Schwalbach; extended grand and great grandchildren, Lace (Ryan), Jax and Breckan Luedke, Peter (Kristin), Max, Marie and Megan Van Zeeland; sisters in law, Helen Emmers and Middy Emmers; as well as many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

    In addition to her parents, Honey was preceded in death by her husband George III; son, George Schwalbach IV; grandson in law, Pat Daul; sisters, Minna (Elmer) Horn and Eunice (Joe) Grishaber; brothers, Mark and Hank Emmers; George's siblings, Irma (Joe) Wittmann, Lucille (Carl) Grassl, Alice (John) Dietzen, Stella (Cyril) Klein, Sue (Hilary) Miller, Kathryn (Leroy) Klein, Hattie (Howard) Thiessen, Paul (Vera) Schwalbach and Joe (Lila) Schwalbach.

  • Note: Sue Miller, 93, died peacefully with her children at her side. She was born in the Town of Harrison, daughter of George J. and Catherine (Renn) Schwalbach on Dec. 1, 1916. She married Hilary Miller in June of 1939 at Holy Angels Church in Darboy. After graduating from Outagamie Teachers College, she taught public school 1935-1939. She worked at Puget Sound Navy Yard during WWII, and taught at St. Mary's, Appleton, until retirement in 1972. She was a past member of Wm. Myers Legion Post 392 in Cecil, Leo Van Roy Post 265 in Darboy and Cecil Lioness Club.

    She is survived by her four children: Jan (Jim) Quella, Tom (Claire) Miller, Pete (Linda) Miller, Katie (Jeff) Peterson. She is further survived by ten grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

    She was preceded in death by her husband and nine siblings. A private family funeral will be held.

  • Note: Age 85, passed away Monday, March 5, 2001 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. Hilary was born April 29, 1915 in Sherwood, son of the late Peter and Lorina (Lettenberger) Miller. On June 27, 1939, Hilary married the former Susanna Schwalbach in Darboy; she survives. During World War II, he worked in both Manitowoc, Wisconsin and Puget Sound, Washington Navy yards building ships. During the 1950’s he operated a plumbing and heating shop in Sherwood. He later built a bowling alley in Sherwood which he owned and operated until 1960. Hilary was employed at Kimberly Clark Corporation before moving to Kimberly in 1961. He worked at Paper Converting Machine Company in Green Bay until his retirement in 1978. Hilary was a past member of the Cecil Lions Club, Past President of Local #1102 Retirees, a member of the National Council of Senior Citizens, AARP, Knights of Columbus Council #1033, and Catholic Knights #215 of Sherwood.

    Hilary is survived by his wife of sixty-two years: Susanna Miller of Darboy; two daughters: Jan (Jim) Quella of Hortonville and Katie (Jeff) Peterson of DePere; two sons: Tom (Claire) Miller of Pearce, Arizona and Peter (Linda) Miller of Appleton; eleven grandchildren: Kevin Quella, Julie (Keith) Hoople, Amy (Loren) Lortscher, Jenny Miller, Nathan, Michael, P.J., and Erin Miller, and Jason and Chad Peterson; seven great-grandchildren; a sister: Ruth (Bernie) Broeckert of Manitowoc; three sisters-in-law: Irma Wittman, Hattie (Howard) Thiessen, and Honey Schwalbach; three brothers-in-law: Paul (Vera) Schwalbach, Joe (Lila) Schwalbach, and Leroy Klein. Hilary was preceded in death by his parents, by sisters-in-law Alice Dietzen, Stella (Cyril) Klein, Catherine Klein, and Lucille (Carl) Grassl, and by brothers-in-law George Schwalbach and Joe Wittman.

    The funeral liturgy for Hilary will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, March 7, 2001 at HOLY ANGELS CATHOLIC CHURCH, W5831 County Road KK in Darboy with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Sherwood. Friends may call directly at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 AM until the hour of the liturgy.
