    Age 19, died at 6:15 Saturday after a motercycle accident. He was born August 12, 1960 in Kaukauna. Mr. Coenen was a 1978 graduate of Kaukauna High School, and was presently employed as a truck driver for Coenen Transit Incorp.

    Survivors include his parents, Ray and Maggi Coenen; three sisters and two brothers in-law, Cheri and Jim Scofield, Oshkosh; Lori and Ron Van Handel, Appleton; Peggy, at home; his grandparents, Peter and Laura Coenen, Little Chute; and Mrs. Clara Biese, Kimberly; a nephew, Jason; his fiancee, Lori Rosin, Kaukauna.

    The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John Catholic Church with the Rev. Richard Klingeisen officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Verkuilen Funeral Home from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 10 a.m. Tuesday until the time of service. A prayer service will be held 7 p.m. Monday.

  • Death: He died on May 14, 2011, at age 55, in Appleton, Outagamie Co, Wisconsin.
  • Note: Donald P. Coenen, age 55, passed away May 14, 2011, at Appleton Medical Center, in the presence of his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Don had a great attitude and was motivated to kill cancer. He was born June 30, 1955, in Darboy, WI, son of the late Elmer and Verena (Vanden Boogard) Coenen. He married Carol (Jahnke), the love of his life on May 29, 1975. Together they shared 35 years of marriage. Don retired after working 37 years as a millwright for Azco and Miron. He was a loving father and grandfather who enjoyed cheering for the Packers, fishing and hunting, especially with his sons. Don was very proud of his children and grandchildren. He was known for his sense of humor and often the life of the party. Don is loved and will be greatly missed by all. He was a member of the Buchanan Fire Dept., National Rifle Association, St. Aloysius Catholic Church, and Millwright Local Union 1056.

    He is survived by his wife, Carol; his children: Christina (Joe) Schlintz, Timothy Coenen, Rob (Jessica) Coenen, and Joe (Koren) Coenen; his grandchildren: Andrew, Courtney, and Alexander Coenen; brothers and sisters: Carol (John) Mueller, Dennis Coenen, Patricia (Eugene) Bloedorn, Myra (James) Verhagen, Lorna (Patrick) Weyenberg, and Phyllis (Lyle) Schmidt; sisters and brothers-in-law: Linda (Ron) Giese, Bill (Mary) Jahnke, and Joyce (Mike) Vande Vyver. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

    He was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws: Fred and Mary Jahnke, a niece, Ann Ridgley (Weyenberg), a sister-in-law, Donna Coenen, and a brother-in-law, Gene Jahnke.

    The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL PARISH at ST. ALOYSIUS CHURCH, 2401 Main Ave., Kaukauna, with Fr. Jerry Pastors officiating. Friends will be received directly at church on Wednesday from 2 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Don's name is being established. The Boettcher Family Funeral Home, Kaukauna is assisting the family. 766-2099.

    Geraldine Coenen, age 89, passed away at St. Paul Home on Friday evening, March 27, 2015. She was born in Oneida on October 8, 1925, daughter of the late Jacob and Kathryn (Van Rooy) Voss. In 1947, she married Cyril Biese. The couple was blessed with eight children, six of whom survive. Cyril passed away in 1965. In 1967, Geri married Robert Coenen, and they shared many happy years until his death in 1993. Many will remember Geri for her love of playing sheepshead, jigsaw puzzles, and word search puzzles. She was also an avid bingo player. In her younger years, she worked as a housekeeper at Appleton's Zuehlke Building. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

    She is survived by six children: Tom Biese of Kaukauna; Joe Biese of Appleton; Jan Biese of Hollandtown; Marge (Larry) Lacosse of Hermansville, Michigan; Cheryl (Albert 'Ken") Iverson of Little Chute; and Patricia (David) Coonen of Kaukauna; eight grandchildren: Amy (Brian) Liebergen, Gabe (Dayna) Lacosse, Lindsey (Skip) Truty, Eric Iverson, Taylor Iverson (Nicole), Jenny (Ryan) Roth, Chris Van Asten, and Stacy Biese; six great-grandchildren: Jakob and Owen Liebergen, Nora Lacosse, and Addie, Gabby, and Burke Roth. Molly Thies, a longtime family friend, also survives. Additional survivors include Bob's daughter: Rose (Don) Aerts of Wrightstown and their children: Paul (Nita) Aerts, Dan (Dawn) Aerts, Cathy (Steve) Koltz, Dave (Tracy) Aerts, and Sara Aerts; as well as ten step-great-grandchildren. There are also many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Geri was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands Cyril and Robert, a son Michael, and infant daughter, a brother Tony Voss, a sister Jen (Lester) George, and a step-son Curtis Coenen.

    A funeral service for Geri will be held at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at the Fargo Funeral Home, 400 W. Wisconsin Avenue in Kaukauna, with Fr. Jerry Pastors officiating. Inurnment will be in Appleton's St. Joseph Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Wednesday afternoon from 4:00 PM until the time of the service. Memories may be shared by visiting www.wichmannfargo.com. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.



    The family would like to extend their gratitude to all of the wonderful caregivers who watched over Geri. They include Dr. Schoening, St. Paul Hospice Staff, the nurses, residents, and everyone at St. Paul Elder Services. You made our mother's days safe and comfortable. And a message to her bingo buddies: "WIN EARLY."
