    Age 34, died at 4:30 a.m. Thursday, June 23, 1988 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born August 30, 1953 in Appleton. She had been a resident of Freedom all of her life. She was a cheese maker for White Clove Dairy for the past 15 years. She was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church.

    Survivors include her parents, Ernest and Dolores [Hoelzil] Diedrick; two brothers and a sister in-law, Bruce and Elaine [Vosters] Diedrick, Freedom; William, Appleton; three sisters, Linda and Patty Diedrick, Little Chute; Donna, at home; a nephew Jeff Diedrick; two nieces, Christy and Amanda Diedrick.

    She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents,

    Funeral services will be held at 10;30 a.m. Saturday from St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Freedom with the Rev. Leander Nickel officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Verkuilen Funeral home, Little Chute from 4-9 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. Saturday until the time of services. There will be a parish prayer service at 8 p.m. Friday. A memorial fund will be established.

    Age, died Friday morning in Appleton doe to injuries from an automobile accident. He was born August 3, 1953 in Green Bay and graduated from the Seymour SR. High School with the class of '72. On September 16, 1972 he was married to Sandy Diedrick and was employed by the Landwehr Materials of Appleton.

    Survivors are his wife, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Landwehr, Rt. 2, Black Creek; two sisters, Mrs. Ronald [Lorelei] Dombrowski, Germantown, New York; and Elsie of Appleton; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ebert, Seymour.

    Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Black Creek, with Rev. Andrew Linsmeyer officiating. Interment will be in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Van's Valley, Wisconsin. Friends may call at the Muehl Funeral Home, Black Creek, after 2 p.m. Sunday and the wake service will be held at 8 p.m. Sunday evening.

  • Note: James E. (Jim) Van Asten, 60, Wrightstown, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 12, 2013 at a local hospital, following a short illness.

    He was born November 28, 1952 in Green Bay, WI, son to Gerald and Catherine (Meulemans) Van Asten. Jim graduated from Wrightstown High School in 1971, and served his country in the United States Army. He married Phyllis Uitenbroek on May 3, 1974 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Freedom. Jim farmed all his life on the family farm in Wrightstown. He enjoyed taking drives to see other farmers land, NASCAR races, and going to his cottage on Lake Winnebago.

    Jim will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 38 years, Phyllis, Wrightstown; father, Gerald, Kimberly; brothers and sisters: Gary (Lou) Van Asten, Kaukauna, Ken (Diane) Van Asten, Florence, WI, Nancy (Bob) Lamers, Kaukauna, Linda (Jim) Kortz, Kaukauna, and Tom Van Asten, Wrightstown; Phyllis' family: mother-in-law, Lorraine Uitenbroek, Freedom, Bob (Lori) Uitenbroek, Freedom, Janet (Pete) Van Handel, Kaukauna, Lyle (Christa) Uitenbroek, Freedom, Lisa (Jerry) Ebben, Mackville, Lori (Bob) Greiner, Freedom, Gail (Jeff) Van Rossum, Black Creek, and Jill Uitenbroek, Little Chute; very special niece, Nichole; many special nieces and nephews; and one special family, Ken and Lou Ann Vosters, with Lori, Jennie, Gayle and Brian.

    Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Catherine; and his father-in-law, Donald.

    Family and friends may call Monday, April 15, 2013 (TODAY) from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at St. Clare Parish-St. Paul site, Wrightstown. Visitation will continue on Tuesday at church from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of Mass at 10:30 a.m., with Fr. Dennis Bergsbaken officiating. Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery.
