  • Note: Donald Ver Bust, 73, Kimberly, passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2010, at his home with his family by his side, after a courageous 18-year battle with Parkinson’s. He was born January 25, 1937, in Kimberly, the son of the late Alfonse and Lucille (Van Roy) Ver Bust. On September 16, 1958, Don married Sandra Albers at Holy Name Catholic Church, Kimberly.

    He served his country in the U.S. Army Medical Corp. and was stationed in San Antonio, Texas, and Oahu, Hawaii, with Sandra with him. Don and Sandy fulfilled his dream by returning in 2004 to Hawaii and over the years traveled extensively together.

    Don was employed for 37 years at Repap and was elected as president for the Kimberly Independent Papermill Workers Union. He volunteered as a scoutmaster with his two sons and was a member of Holy Name Athletic Association. Don was a member of Holy Spirit Parish in Kimberly.

    He enjoyed golfing, fishing and hunting with his dog. Family was the most important thing to Don and he loved being with his children and grandchildren and attending their sporting events.

    Don is survived by his wife, Sandra Ver Bust, Kimberly; daughter, Jill (Dave) VandenOever, Kimberly; sons, Mark Ver Bust, Hilbert; and Steve (Kelly) Ver Bust, Little Chute; nine grandchildren, Michael (Aimi) VandenOever, Katie (Mike) Frassetto, Steven and Brett VandenOever; Matt, Madison, Mason, Paige and Maggie Ver Bust; and his brother, Bernard (Janet) Ver Bust, Kimberly. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

    Don was preceded in death by his brother, Rev. Richard Ver Bust.

    The Memorial Mass for Don will be held at 5 p.m. on Monday, January 3, 2011, at HOLY SPIRIT PARISH - KIMBERLY, 600 E. Kimberly Avenue, Kimberly. Father David Beaudry will be officiating. Inurnment will take place in the parish cemetery. A time of visitation and support will be held from 3 p.m. until the time of Mass.

    In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name.

    Most of all, he was a devoted husband and loving father and grandfather. He lived his life to the fullest. Don’s belief was ... happiness is a decision.

    Age 70, died Tuesday, October 21, 1986 at 6 a.m. after a three week illness. He was born December 26, 1915, in Appleton, and had been an Appleton resident all of his life. He was employed at Kurtz and Roots and also the Case Company until his retirement. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic and worked with the children at the church school playground. He was also active in the EAA.

    Survivors include his wife, Marguerite Dengel Van Ryzin; a daughter, Mrs. Dick [Carolyn] Pakan, St. Charles, Illinois; four sons; Steve, Shawano; Greg, Winneconnie; Joe, Appleton; Tom, Sherwood; a brother, Mark, Appletom; three sisters; Monica Wildenberg, Little Chute; Mrs. Paul [Jerri] Albers, Kimberly; and Jean Milkalski, Libertyville, Missouri; seven grandchildren and two step grandchildren.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and a sister. The complete funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday October 23, 1986 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with the Rev. Wilbert Staudenmaier officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Relatives and friends are asked to meet at the church prior to the mass. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established. The Valley Funeral Home assisted the family.

    VanRyzin, Marguerite Marguerite VanRyzin, died at Franciscan Care Center, on August 8, 2007, at the age of 89. Marguerite was born on January 9, 1918, to Adam and Anna (Schmid) Dengel in Appleton. She married John VanRyzin in Appleton, WI, and together they had seven children.

    Marguerite is survived by her sons: Steve (Karen), Greg (Deb), Joe (Bev) and Tom, her daughter Carolyn (Richard) Pakan. She has numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Marguerite is further survived by her brothers; Robert (Jane) Dengel, Carl (Jeanette) Dengel and Norman Dengel.

    Marguerite was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John, and their children Robert and Marie. She was also preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.

    Services for Marguerite will be 11 a.m., August 10, 2007, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 222 E. Fremont St, Appleton, with Father Bob Karuhn officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service also at the church. Interment will be at St Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being set up by the family.

(Rita) Mottl, Allenville, Mrs. Richard (Lois) Zolkowski, Menasha; two sons, Roy G., Menasha, and George M., Oshkosh; a sister, Mrs. robert (Rose) Rodgers, Huntington Beach, California; 9 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 9:30 a.m. at the Laemmrich Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Chruch, with Rev. Lambert Scanlan officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 until 9 p.m. Thurdsay and the prayer service will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday evening.

    Funeral services for Helen Marie Van Ryzin, four day old infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Van Ryzin, 1209 S. Oneida St. who died at 8 o'clock Tuesday morning were held at 4 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at St. Joseph Cemetery with Rev. Alphonse Heckler in charge.

    Besides her parents her survivors are three brothers, Stephen, Gregory, and Joseph, all of Appleton.
