  • Note: Frank A. Olson Jr., passed away on Christmas morning 2014, surrounded by his family. He was born November 18, 1925 in Kimberly, Wisconsin to the late Frank and Mary (Schiltz) Olson, Sr. He served in the U.S. Army in WWII during the Battle of the Bulge. Frank earned a purple heart and three Bronze Stars while serving in the military. He was also a Prisoner of War.

    On May 21, 1949, he married Lois J. Leopold and the couple then settled in Appleton. He was employed at Repap Paper Mill in Kimberly until his retirement, where he started in the wood room and worked his way up the ladder to superintendent. He also volunteered for many years at the St. Joseph's Food Pantry.

    During his youth, Frank enjoyed golfing, bowling, and playing tennis. Frank truly enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family. Family was the most important thing to Frank, and he made sure to hold them near and dear. He loved playing cribbage with his wife Lois, where she would "skunk" him many times over. He and Lois also enjoyed watching the Brewers and Packers play. Frank enjoyed both ice fishing and fishing with his family. He made it a point for all of the family to gather every year in Lakewood, Wisconsin where they would make many great memories.

    Frank is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lois. He is also survived by his nine children: Frederick (Sue) Olson, Richard Olson, Steve (Deb) Olson, Patricia (Ken) Kemps, David (Deb) Olson, Mary (Wayne) Hartzheim, Thomas (Lynn) Olson, Kristine Wells, Susan (Craig) Rogne; 18 beloved grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; two sisters Lorraine Cummings and Olga Streck; a sister-in-law Gertrude Leopold; a brother-in-law Harold Clark; and many nieces and nephews. Frank was preceded in death by his parents; brother Frederick F. Olson, who lost his life defending our country in WWII; sisters: Leone (Matt) Dupont, Katherine (Gordon) Heule, and Jean Clark; brother-in-laws: Earl Streck and Alfred Cummings, and Henry Piette; and Lois's siblings.

    Funeral services for Frank will be held at 11:00 a.m. on December 30, 2014 at ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 312 South State Street, Appleton. A time of visitation will be held at 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on December 29, 2014 at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, 537 North Superior Street, Appleton, and again from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at church the following day.   • Note: Lois J. Olson, age 89, of Appleton, passed away on Monday, June 29, 2015. She was born on May 1, 1926 in Appleton to the late Henry and Ida (Reetz) Leopold. She graduated from Appleton High School in 1944.

    She married the love of her life Frank A. Olson Jr. on May 21, 1949. Together they were blessed with nine children. Lois was employed at Gimbel's/Dayton's/Marshall Field's/Macy's retiring in 2004. Some of Lois's fondest memories where those spent with her family. She enjoyed cooking and during the Christmas holidays she would set aside a full day of baking with her girls. Lois enjoyed bowling with the Wednesday Morning League for over 40 years. She and Frank were also members of a couples bowling leagues together. She liked a good game of cribbage and sitting down with a crossword puzzle and a hot cup of coffee. Lois was also an active volunteer for St. Joe's Pantry for many years.

    Lois is survived by her nine children, Fredrick (Sue) Olson, Richard Olson, Steve (Deb) Olson, Patricia (Ken) Kemps, David (Deb) Olson, Mary (Wayne) Hartzheim, Thomas (Lynn) Olson, Kristine Wells and Susan (Craig) Rogne; eighteen grandchildren, Erik (Sarah) Olson, Christopher (Kirsten) Olson, Ted Olson, Justin Olson, Elliot Olson, Breanna Olson, Bryan (Kim) Olson, Tim (Debecca) Olson, Andrew (Erica) Olson, Elizabeth Olson, Kayla (Jon) VandenEng, Trisha (Scott) Gavin, Sara (Steve) Guajardo, Jason (Becky) West, Ryan West, Benjamin Wells, Nicholas and Laura Rogne; twelve great-grandchildren, Sarah Olson, Michael Olson, Denise Olson, Olivia VandenEng, Isaac VandenEng, Elsa Gavin, Nathan Gavin, McKennah West, Hailey West, Brooke West, Carson West and Kaylie Olson. She is further survived by her sister-in-law, Gertrude Leopold and many other nieces nephews and relatives.

    In addition to her parents Lois was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Frank; her sister, Madeline "Pat" and her brothers, Melvin, Harold, and Robert along with their spouses.

    Funeral services for Lois will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 3, 2015 at ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 312 South State Street, Appleton. A time of visitation will be held at 5:00 p.m. until the time of the prayer service at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, 537 North Superior Street, Appleton, and again from 8:30 a.m. until the time of the service at church on Friday. Interment will be held at St. Mary Cemetery in Appleton. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Lois's name. Online condolences may be offered at www.wichmannfargo.com.

    The family would like to thank all the wonderful caregivers that have taken care of Lois and a very special thank you to our sister Kris, who has been our guiding light for the past few months.

  • Note: Olga M. (Olson) Streck, 97, passed into Heaven on Sunday, September 25, 2016. Olga was born on August 29, 1919 in Kimberly, the daughter of Frank and Mary (Schiltz) Olson. On May 10, 1941, Olga married Earl Streck. They celebrated 50 years of marriage before Earl's passing in 1992. They raised their family on Firelane 8 in Menasha. In 1998 Olga moved to Darboy. She enjoyed family get togethers and in later years many delightful visits with her sister Lorraine.

    Olga is survived by her four children; Shirley (Michael) Kabat, Darboy, Bob (Mary "Sue") Streck, Menasha, Gary (Linda) Streck, Brillion, Kevin (special friend Tina Olow) Streck, Menasha, eleven grandchildren; Heidi (Mike) Carpenter, Hans (Sara Zahasky) Kabat, Jay (Lotti) Streck, Lori (Dan) Harrmann, Wendy (Paul) Santkuyl, Sara (Kari) Terho - Streck, Barry (Angela) Streck, Tammy (Brian) Liegl, Dale Streck, Chad (Lisa) Streck, Kraig (Stephanie) Streck, 28 grandchildren, and two great -great-grandchildren. Olga was preceded in death by her parents, husband Earl, four sisters and two brothers.

    The funeral liturgy for Olga will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at 4:00 PM at HOLY SPIRIT PARISH, DARBOY CHURCH, W5831 County Rd. KK, Appleton, with Fr. Robert Kollath, officiating.   • Note: Lorraine Clara Piette-Cummings (nee Olson), age 101, formerly of Kaukauna, was called to her eternal home on Wednesday, August 3, 2016, at Preston Place in Redgranite, WI.

    She was born June 26, 1915 in Kimberly, WI, the daughter of Frank and Mary (Schiltz) Olson. She married Eugene Henry "Hank" Piette in December of 1935. He preceded her in death on April 3, 1961. She later married Alfred J. Cummings in June of 1965, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 1, 1999.

    Lorraine worked at Tuttle Press Papers in Appleton for many years. After retiring, Lorraine enjoyed spending time with many relatives and friends at her cottage in Townsend, WI, fishing and playing games. Her sister Olga frequently accompanied her. The two of them spent many hours playing cards, cooking and sharing laughter. Additionally, Lorraine spent winters with her children in Texas and enjoyed crocheting afghans and dishcloths, which she generously provided to family members and area nursing home residents.

    She is survived by her children, Janet (Duane) Rogers, Redgranite, James (Karen) Piette, Crivitz, WI, stepchildren, Mark Cummings, Shiocton, WI, Jeff (Lisa) Cummings, Neenah, WI, Sally Grady, Kaukauna, WI, and daughter-in-law Kathy Smith, Eau Claire, WI. She is further survived by grandchildren, Richard (Beth) Lind, Wausau, WI, Cheryl (Craig) Heller, New Holstein, WI, Janice (MaShaun Jones) Piette, Westerville, OH, step-grandchildren Nathan Cummings, Appleton, Tanya Grady, Jason Grady, and Nicole (Jason) Rivera, all of Kaukauna. "Grandma Lovey" will also be missed by great grandchildren Jessica, Amie, Amanda, Matthew and Clara, step great grandchildren Jazmin, Angel, Leanisha, Lilana, Alexandra, Joyivona, Conner and Goven and great-great grandchildren Madeline, Chloe, Audrey, Samuel, Nora. Her sister, Olga Streck, also survives her. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends will also miss Lorraine.

    Besides her parents and husbands, Lorraine was preceded in death by her son, Eugene Piette, stepsons, Ronald, Robert and William Cummings, three sisters, two brothers, and a godson.

    The family wishes to thank the Preston Place staff for their wonderful care of our dear mother and grandmother, St. Mark's Catholic Church for their visitation and services, and the nurses at Agnesian Hospice Hope for their compassionate attention to the whole family during Lorraine's final months. A special thanks is given to Ken at Preston Place for his kindness to Lorraine and making sure her flowers were always watered.

    Funeral Services for Lorraine C. Cummings will be held Monday, August 8th. at St. Mark's Catholic Church in Redgranite, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. Father Joseph Mattern and Deacon Robert Precourt will be the Presiders. Graveside Services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Appleton. (Those attending the Graveside Services should meet directly at the Cemetery.)

    Friends may call from 9:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Monday only prior to the Mass at St. Mark's Catholic Church in Redgranite (228 Church Street, west side of Redgranite, south of Highway 21. Turn south at the car wash.)

Eugene Piette, U.S. Air Force, Pease Air Force Base, New Hampshire; James, at home; two brothers, August, Redding, Calif; Joseph, Central Valley, Calif; one grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic church, the cortage forming at 9:30 a.m. at the Brettschneider Funeral Home.
