Trowbridge, Judith Ann (nee Liethen) Judy A. Trowbridge, (nee Liethen) age 61, while surrounded by her loving family, took her smile and spirit from her earthly home on Lakeshore Road, Newton, WI, to her eternal home with her Lord on Sunday, August 27, 2006. She was born of the flesh on January 1, 1945, in Appleton, WI, to parents who preceded her in death, Clarence M. and Naureen M. (nee Komp) Liethen. She graduated from Kimberly High School in 1963, and spent most of her life at Aid Association for Lutherans (AAL) in Appleton. After 25 years at successor, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, she retired in late 2000. On September 16, 2000, she married Timothy C. Trowbridge at Wesley United Methodist Church in Manitowoc and moved into their beautiful new home on the lake.

Although diagnosed with terminal gall bladder cancer in 2002, through the prayers of many people and the mercies of God, Judy was enabled to bring and receive joy from her husband, daughters and especially her granddaughters for more than four years. Many have witnessed the miraculous power of the blood of Jesus in granting the extra time to enjoy life. And now, we celebrate the resurrection power of the bread of life, eternal life.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Robert Liethen; a sister, Shirley Liethen; a brother-in-law, Howard Betters; a niece, Diane Depner (nee Betters), and a nephew, Thomas Fenn.

Those surviving to cherish her memory include her loving and devoted husband, Tim; two beloved daughters, Amy Tisol of Manitowoc; Kimberly Verkuilen, of Bishkekj, Krgryzstan; her first precious granddaughter, Caroline Coursen Tisol; her stepson, Timothy (Julie) J. Trowbridge and Judy's second precious granddaughter, Emily Trowbridge, Sun Prairie; her brother-in-law, Bo Bergstrom of Silver City, NM; surviving siblings include four sisters: Joyce (Eugene) Fenn, Shawano; Phyllis (Donald) Craney, Crivitz; Mary (Richard) Rademacher, Wichita, KS; Nancy (Dennis) Kilsdonk, Plainfield, IL; three brothers: James Liethen, Appleton; Wayne (Cindy) Liethen, Albuquerque, NM; Gary (Rosie) Liethen, Kimberly. There are also maternal and paternal aunts and uncles; numerous cousins, numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews; a dear life-long friend, Joyce (Roger) Van Handel, Appleton; special family friend, Gertrude Verkuilen and her children; several wonderful circles of friends from her former neighborhood in Appleton; the "Dork County Girls', her former workplace at Thrivent and her beautiful Christian family in Manitowoc.

The family will greet relatives and friends at Wesley United Methodist Church on Sunday, September 3, 2006, from 10:45 a.m. until the Memorial Celebration of her life at 1 p.m. Rev. Janis Callahan will officiate. Lunch will be shared at 11:30 a.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church with coffee and dessert to follow the Celebration. Judy's wishes were that her remains be spread over Lake Michigan near the shore of their family home in a private ceremony.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations would be appreciated for one of the following: Lakeshore Interfaith Hospitality Network; Wesley United Methodist Church Children's Ministry; or the Children's Miracle Network. The Jens Family Funeral Home & Crematory is serving the Trowbridge family.
