    Sztuczko, Alice C. Alice C. Sztuczko, age 83, of Appleton, formerly of Weyauwega, died on Wednesday, July 25, 2007, at Wisconsin Veteran's Home in King. The Funeral Mass for Alice will be held on Monday, July 30, 2007, at 11 a.m. at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Weyauwega with Fr. Paul Vanden Hogan officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Weyauwega. Friends may call at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Weyauwega on Sunday, July 29, 2007, from 2-6 p.m., where a 5:30 p.m. prayer service will be held, and also from 10 a.m. at the church on Monday until the time of the service.     Sztuczko, Alice C. Alice C. Sztuczko, age 83, of Appleton, formerly of Weyauwega died on Wednesday, July 25, 2007, at Wisconsin Veteran's Home in King. Alice was born October 13, 1923, in Sinton, Texas, daughter of the late John and Eulalia (Mesa) Cantu. On August 6, 1943, she married Edmund V. Sztuczko in Corpus Christi, Texas. He preceded her in death October 18, 1989. They lived in Mundelein, IL, until moving to Weyauwega in 1968. She and her husband owned and operated Gill's Landing on the Wolf River near Weyauwega for 17 years.

    She is survived by three daughters: Linda (Robert) Bartelt, Manawa; Wendy (Daniel) Wall, Phoenix, AZ; Karen (Mark) Merritt, Manawa; four sons: Walter (Wendy) Sztuczko, Manawa; Ronald (Pamala) Sztuczko, St. George, UT; Edmund Sztuczko Jr., San Diego, CA; Michael Sztuczko, Menasha; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Suelema Cantu, Appleton; Dora Nordon, Rock MI; Josephine Lenior, Sinton, TX; Leonard Cantu, Sinton, TX; Ruben Cantu, Glen Bumie, MD; Jerry Cantu, Sinton, TX; Diana B. Jackson, Ft. Worth, TX; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

    Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a sister and three brothers.

    The Funeral Mass for Alice will be held on Monday, July 30, 2007, at 11 a.m. at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Weyauwega with Fr. Paul Vanden Hogen officiating.     Henry Maes, member of the firm of Maes Brothers furniture manufacturers, marion, Waupaca county, was born in Kaukauna township, otuagamie county, Wis.m in 1866. He is a son of Peter and Johanna (Hendricks) Maes, who were born and reared in Holland, and came in an early day to Little Chute, Wisconsin.
    Peter Maes was postmaster, and kept store for the Fox River Improvement Co., always lived in Little Chute and died in 1873, his widow resides at Little Chute. They were the parents of six children, as follows; Arnold is in partnership with Henry; Peter was killed at Kaukauna in 1893; Henry is the subject of this sketch; Anna is the wife of Bernard Schlude, residing in Kaukauna; Albert lives in Marion; Herman works in the factory. For twent years the family live in Kaukauna township.
    Henry Maes was reared in Kaukauna, educated in the schools there, and learned the trade of millwright, following same until he engaged in his present business. In 1892, in Mattoon, Shawano county, he was united in marriage with Miss Christina Joosten, who was born in Outagamie county, daughter of Walter Joosten, an early pioneer of Kaukauna township, who settled there in the woods and opende up a farm. From Mattoon Mr. Maes came, in 1892 the firm of Maes Brothers began the manufacture of furniture at thet place, and brought of the Marion Furniture Mfg. Co. a good two story frame building, wherein they manufacture all kinds of furniture and store fittings; also church fittings, and bank outfits, and woodwork in general, giving employment to about twn men. Mr. Maes is a member of the Modern Woodmen of America, and is an Independent in politics, in which he takes considerable interest.

    Member of Center Town Board, Dies
    Joseph A. Stadler, 49, route 3, Appleton, died early Sunday morning in a Madison hospital after an illness of two years.
    Born March 3, 1899, in Darboy, he was a member of the town board of the town of Center and had lived on the same farm there for 45 years. He was a member of St. Edwards Catholic church, Mackville, and a member of the Holy Name society of that church.
    He is survived by the widow, three daughters, Mrs. Vincent Vander Logt, route 1, Kaukauna, and Miss Donna June and Miss marilyn Stadler, route 4, Appleton; five sons, Jerome, Eugene and Cyril, route 4, Appleton, Gerald, Little Chute, and Ronald, Appleton; two brothers, John Stadler, Appleton, and Max Stadler, Darboy; one sister, Mrs. Fred Sturm, Appleton; and two grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be held at 9:30 Thursday morning at St. Edward Catholic church, with the Rev. N. L. Gross in charge. The cortege will form at the Wichmann Funeral home at 9 o'clock and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 o'clock Tuesday night until the time of the services. The rosary will be recited at 8 o'clock Tuesday and Wednesday nights at the funeral home.
