    Robert G. Vosters 1220 Primrose Lane Neenah

    Age 64, died early Friday morning December 4, 1987 at Theday Clark Regional Medical Center, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born March 2, 1923, in Appleton, the son of Josephine [Neugebaurer] Vosters and the late Louis Vosters. He married Joanne Dedering on June 29, 1946 in Neenah. He had been a neenah resident for over 40 years. Mr. Vosters was a World War II Army veteran. He was a former employee of the American Can Co. Waschington Street Plant. He was a member of the St. Gabriel Catholic Church, Neenah aand operated Vosters' Upholstery Shop in Neenah for many years. The family wishes to expree its great appreciation to the VNA of Neenah-Menasha for all their care and concern during the past year.

    Mr. Vosters is survived by his wife, Joanne; his mother, Josephine Vosters, Appleton; a daughter; Patricia Vosters George, Neenah; a son and daughter in-law; Greg and Kathy of Neenah; three sisters; Mrs. Francis [Evelyn] McGuire, Shawano; Mrs. Earl [Marion] Vande Bogart of Appleton; and Mrs. Jerry [Arelene] Van Handel, Centerville, Iowa; and three grandchildren; Christopher George; and Robbie and Leslie Vosters.

    He was preceded in death by his father, four sons and a daughter. Funeral services will be Monday December 7, 1987 at 10:30 a.m. at the Westgor Funeral Home, Neenah, and 11 a.m. at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, Neenah. Friends may call Sunday at the funeral home from 4 to 7 p.m. There will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. A memorial has been established for the VNA of Neenah-Menasha and the American Cancer Society.

    Neenah-Gerald Robert Vosters, two day old son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Vosters, 130 Douglas St., died Sunday. The child was born Friday at Theda Clark Hospital.

    Survivors besides his parents are Mr. and Mrs. Dedering, Neenah, and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Vosters, Appleton.

    Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon at the Westgor Funeral Home, the Rev. Joseph P. Glueckstein, will be in charge and burial will be in St. Margaret Cemetery.

    Voster, Janice M.


    Janice M. Voster, age 82, of Neenah, passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2009, at Theda Clark. She was born on November 25, 1926, in Menasha, daughter of the late Fred and Mary (Mer-kel) Heckner. On June 3, 1946, she married Clyde Voster at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Menasha, and he preceded her in death on December 10, 1995. She was a long-time member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church, Neenah, and enjoyed playing cards and Bingo.

    She will be sadly missed by her son, Tom (friend Debbie) Voster, Little Chute; her brother, Clyde (Mary Lou) Heckner, Menasha; brother-in-law, Glen Burt; sisters-in-law, Ruth Voster and Lomie Anderson; nephews, Kenneth Heckner, Raymond Heckner, and Charles Heckner; nieces, Gail Henke, Mary Francis Heckner, and Kendall Gentz; and Janice's special friend, Terry Cleveland.

    She was preceded in death by her sister, Eileen Burt; and her brother, Charles Heckner.

    The Memorial Mass for Janice will be celebrated on Friday, June 12, 2009, at 11 a.m. at St. Gabriel Catholic Church with Father Richard Allen as celebrant. Visitation will begin Friday at 9 a.m. until the hour of mass at the church. Inurnment will be in Appleton Highland Memorial Park.

    Wells, Jay Jay Q. Wells, aka Al J. Johanek passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 22, 2007, after a long battle with cancer. Jay was born in Two Rivers, Wisconsin, on July 8, 1929. He was the son of Joseph and Emily Johanek. Jay was a familiar name in radio and TV broadcasting since 1957. He was the leader of the "Jay and Andy Dance Band," "The Red Raven Orchestra" and the "Jay Wells Orchestra/Combo." He will be remembered for his love of music and entertaining anyone that crossed his path.

    He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Grace (Honey) Wells, his son Jay Johanek, of Lawton, OK; his daughter, Gail Johanek, Green Bay, WI; stepson, Tony (Laurie) Wagner, Waupaca, WI; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

    A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. If you didn't see him on stage — it's too late.

    died Wednesday July 5, 1995 at St. Mary's Hospital, Green Bay after a short illness. She was born May 3, 1899 in Wrightstown, the daughter of the late Albert
    and Johanna [ Zittlow ] Kersten. Grace was a long time resident in Kaukauna.
    She was a loving mother and grandmother and a inspiration to all who knew her.
    She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and a long time member of the National Catholic Society of Foresters.

    She is survived by a son and daughter in-law; Cyril and Dorothy Hopfensperger, Green Bay; three daughters and a son in-law; Helen and Bill Putzer, Appleton; Lucille Cooper, Menlo Park, Ca.; Marion Bellarosa, Stuart, Florida; 21 grandchildren, and 32 great grandchildren; a sister, Helen Renke, Seymour; a cousin, Cliff (Laona) Zittlow, Wrightstown.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Aloysius; three sons; Donald, Jack and Aloysius Hopfensperger; two son in-laws; Nicholas Bellarosa and Bob Cooper.

    The funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday July 8, 1995 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna, with Father Jack Mullarkey officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at the Fargo Funeral Home, 400 W. Wisconsin Ave., Kaukauna, from 4 until 8 p.m. Friday (today) and after 8 a.m. on Saturday until the cortege leaves for the church. There will be a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. on Friday.

    Putzer, Helen M.


    Helen Margaret Putzer, age 90, died Tuesday morning, February 9, 2010, following a short illness. Helen was born November 9, 1919, to Aloys and Grace Hopfen-sperger in Little Chute. Helen was an excellent student, and after graduation from Kaukauna High School, She worked for the Hormel Meat Company in Austin, Minnesota. Following her marriage to Bill, her husband of 60 years, she concentrated on raising her three sons, and being a loving and devoted wife to Bill. Bill and Helen enjoyed 45 years of square dancing which became a defining activity in her life. Helen was also an accomplished pianist, and would frequently entertain her family with a variety of musical styles from her substantial repertoire. Helen's effervescent personality was contagious, and she strived to bring happiness to those around her. She will be missed.

    Helen is survived by her three fine sons: Bob, John Paul (Jamie), and Tom (Melissa); grandchildren: Christopher and Emily Putzer (Moris Zelaya), Hannah Scott, Sarah (Chris) Bateman, Sarah (Phil) Carpenter, Jenny (Milton) Cordova, Mark Semrad, Marietta (Zak) Crider, and Brianna Jackson.

    Private family services will be held on Saturday.
