He met the love of his life, Lorraine Vander Heiden, at Bluestone Park dancing to the music of Romy Gosz. They had many wonderful times together. They were married September 16, 1947 in St. Rafael Cathedral in Dubuque, Iowa. Orville spent 32 months in the US Army SIG C. ASA

    He spent 42 years at Dehn's Ice Cream, first as the De Pere store owner and then home and farm delivery, 4 years at Holtger Bros and 15 years at Weber Bowling and Awards. He was an avid bowler, achieving highs of 767/296-290. He was the proud originator of "The Orv Bowl", a charity bowling tournament, raising thousands of dollars for sick children & adults alike with the help of family and friends.

    Orville was a member of St. Mary Parish in De Pere, serving as trustee, usher, and selling Scrip.

    He is survived by his loving wife, Lorraine, and their children: Mary Kay (Steve) Jauquet, Dale (Jayne) Schroeder, Denise (Kurt) Gajeski, Nancy (Pat) Burke, Steven, Renee (Kevin) Perock, Susan (Rick) Beining; grandchildren: Colleen (Mike) Vien, Polly (Ryan) Juley, Neil (Amanda) Jauquet, Andrew (Kristen) Schroeder, Jennifer (Bill) Kramer, Adam Titulaer, Colin Burke, Ryan Burke, Shannon (fiancé Rob Mach) Burke, Ross and Cassidy Perock, Danielle, Megan and Allison Beining; great-grandchildren: Gunnar VonHaden, Cora and Jansen Jauquet, Ava Mach and Mac Schroeder; sisters-in-law: Elizabeth, Rosella and Joan Schroeder.

    Orville was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Lois; a grandson, Benjamin Jauquet; brothers: Norman, Merlin, Walter, Roland and Marvin; sisters: Florelda (Walter) Krueger, Elverta (Lawrence) Bittner; a nephew, Donald Krueger; a niece/godchild, Barbara Schroeder Peters; father-in-law: Lawrence Vander Heiden; sister-in-law: Helen Vander Heiden; mother and father-in-law: Robert (Agnes Coenen) Hannan; as well as many relatives and good friends.

    Family and friends may visit at St. Mary Catholic Church, 4805 Sportsman Drive, Ledgeview, on Tuesday, January 27, from 2:00-5:45pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 6:00pm Tuesday with the Rev. Richard Getchel officiating. Cotter Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family.

    In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established for the De Pere Christian Outreach Food Pantry, and for St. Vincent Hospital Cancer Research.

    Dad - Thanks for showing us how to play hard and love unconditionally. You fought a good fight and we know you are in peace. We love you!

    James was born on April 13, 1917, in Green Bay, to Rose (Thomas) and Frank Aerts.

    He married Florence Kolb on Sept. 16, 1939 and she preceded him in death on April 30, 1979.

    Jim had a long career in law enforcement, rising in the ranks of the De Pere Police Department to assistant chief of police. He graduated from the FBI National Academy in 1962 and received his degree from President John F. Kennedy. From 1963 to 1981 he served as director of security at St. Norbert College. In addition to his career in law enforcement, Jim was a trained and talented stone mason, who turned this into a full-time career after his retirement. He served in the U.S. Air Force.

    Jim was also a talented musician. He played clarinet with the Chicago Junior Symphony, the U.S. Navy Band, Green Bay City Band and was one of the original members of the Packer Lumberjack Band. He served two terms as a member of the De Pere City Council.

    Jim was an avid Packers fan. For 60 years, he attended all home games, and in later years followed the team to almost every stadium in the country.

    He is survived by two daughters, Jamie (David) McGuire, Amy (Scott) Sorenson and a son-in-law, Joseph Hoffman; six grandchildren, Stephanie (Michael) Hawley, Shaun (Aaron) Olejniczak, Patrick Thomas, Brianna McGuire, Bridgette McGuire, Lauren Hoffman; and three great-grandchildren.

    He was preceded in death by his second wife, Dorothy (Roe) Aerts; daughter, Suzanne (Aerts) Hoffman; son-in-law, Steven Thomas; and nine brothers and sisters.

    Gathering time for family and friends will be Sunday, May 20, 2007, at 2 p.m. at Old St. Joseph Catholic Church on the St. Norbert College campus until the Mass of Christian Burial at 3 p.m., Rev. James Baraniak, O. Praem. officiating. Burial will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in De Pere. Cotter Funeral Home, De Pere, is assisting the family.

  • Note: Mrs. Casey (Norma Jane) Kolb, of De Pere passed away quietly on Thursday morning October 23, 2014 following a short illness. The daughter of the late Joseph and Loretta (Ehnard) Schumerth was born March 15, 1923 in Green Bay. She attended De Pere High School and Mt. Mary College. She married Clayton "Casey " Kolb on June 14, 1947 at St. Francis Catholic Church in De Pere. The couple celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary.

    Norma Jane volunteered at St. Francis Library, then went on to work in the library at St. Norbert College for 24 years, retiring in 1989. She and Casey were very active in the community. Norma Jane was past president of the Nazareth Guild, fundraising for the St. Joseph Orphanage. She belonged to various bridge clubs for over 50 years. Norma Jane was a Woman of incredible faith and was a life-long member of St. Francis Church in De Pere, where she belonged to Altar Rosary Society. She and Casey were members of the Norbertine Associates and they prayed the Rosary often. They had a love of international travel. She had a dynamic personality and enjoyed the friendships and wonderful relationships of many friends and family during her lifetime. Her love of family continues to be her legacy.

    Her family includes her husband, Casey, five children, Greg (Maribeth) Kolb, Steve (Karen) Kolb, Rick (Eileen) Kolb, Beth (Rick) Theiler, Sarah Thompson (fiancé, Rick Pouwels), fourteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, two brothers, Robert Schumerth and James (Eva) Schumerth. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister-in-law.

    Family and friends may call at St. Francis Catholic Church, 220 South Michigan Street, De Pere from 9:00 to 11:00 am Monday October 27, 2014. Mass of Christian Burial will be concelebrated at 11:00 am Monday at the church with Father Richard Getchel and Father Judah Pigon, MF, officiating, assisted by members of the Norbertine Community.
