    Age 66, passed away at 11 a.m. Saturday morning after a heart attack. He was born in the Town of Woodville May 30, 1896. Mr. Lappen was Pulp Mill foreman at Hilman Pulp & Paper Co. until 1963 when he retired. He was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Aloysius Church, Kaukauna, a member of Local 147 and the Century Club of Hilman.

    The survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Lester [Marion] Ludvigsen, Neenan; Mrs. Jerome [Ruth] Be Notch and Mrs. Edward [Janet] Broeren, both of Kaukauna; and Mrs. [Annaceil] Meulemans, Wrightstown; three sons, Leo of Appleton; Cliff of Little Chute; and Paul from LaCrescent, Minnesota; four brothers, Peter of Manitowoc; James of Chicago; Anton, Kaukauna; and Mike, Shawano; four sisters, Mrs. Walter [Kate] Ebling, DePere; Mrs. Homer [Gert] Hudson, West Allis; Mrs. William [Theresa] Mundt, Milwaukee; and Mrs. Vern [Esther] Meyers of Milwaukee; and 18 grandchildren.

    Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Kaukauna, Fr. Sylvester Borusky of St. Aloysius Church officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Monday at the Greenwood Funeral Home, Kaukauna. The rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Monday.

    Age 62, died at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 27, 1984. She was born May 8, 1922, in Freedom. She had been employed by Zwicker Knitting Mill for many years.

    Survivors include her husband, Leo Lappen; two daughters, Cheryl and Mark Miller, Oskhosh; Debbie and Keith Brandt, Menasha; a son, Ray Lappen, Appleton; a brother, Clarence Diedrick, Kaukauna; and five grandchildren.

    She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Mark; a brother, Woodrow; and a sister, Agnes.

    The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 29, 1984, at St. John Catholic Church, Little Chute, with the Rev. Paul Radetski officiating. Interment will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Kaukauna. Friends may call at the Verkuilen Funeral Home, Little Chute, from 6-9 p.m. Friday evening, and from 9 a.m. Saturday, until the time of service. Ther will be a prayer service at 8 p.m. Friday evening.

    Paul Edward Lappen

    Age 58, beloved husband, father and grandfather, died unexpectedly Monday, October 23, 1995 in Iron Mountain, Michigan. He was born April 19, 1937, in Kaukauna to the late Edward and Jeanette [Vander Zanden] Lappen. He was proud to serve in the Marine Corps as a rifle instructor. He married Beverly J. Crha May 20, 1961 at St. Mary Church in Antigo. Paul was a 29 year member of Local 458 Plumbers and Steamfitters Union. He was a member of Sacred Heart Parish. He was employed b y August Winters and Sons for 29 years. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and trapper.

    Survivors include his wife, Beverly J.; six children; Suzanne Paula [Carl] Mohl, Appleton; Jesse Joseph [Tammy] Lappen, Menasha; John Paul [Deborah[ Lappen, Oshkosh; Joan Hazel [Brian James] Diem, Appleton; Constance Suzanne [John] Piscitello, Appleton; 10 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews; three sisters,
    Anaciele [Lloyd] Muelemans, Black Creek; Jackie [Edward] Broeren, Kaukauna; Ruth [Jerry] Benotch, Kaukauna.

    He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Clifford and Leo; and two sisters, Marion Luvigson and Roseland Lappen.

    Funeral services will be Friday, October 27, 1995 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Appleton with Father William Kuhr officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Kaukauna. Friends may call Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at Wichmann Funeral Home, Appleton. There will be a 7 p.m. prayer service with Father Timon Costello. Friends may call at the church Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
