  • Note: Frank J Giordana, age 91, of Kaukauna, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, on Monday, March 7, 2016. He was born on April 30, 1924 to the late Emil and Laura (DiQuardo) Giordano. He graduated from Kaukauna High School in 1943. Frank married Florence "Red" Weigel on October 2, 1948 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kaukauna. Frank served in the Navy for three years during World War II. He worked at Thilmany Pulp and Paper as an ink and plate coordinator for 37 years until he retired in 1986. Frank was a member of the Quarter Century Club at Thilmany.

    Frank enjoyed playing and watching sports, and was inducted into the Kaukauna Athletic Hall of Fame in 1976. He attended the University Wisconsin Fox Valley Extension. Frank was a member of the VFW, American Legion Post No. 41, and the Moose Lodge #953. He and Red enjoyed their winters in Florida for 18 years, where they would golf, bowl, and play cards. They also enjoyed camping, traveling, and times up north with their children. Frank and Red were charter members of the Cabaret Dance Club. Because of his failing eyesight Frank always carried his binoculars to see sporting events, dance reviews, neighborhood projects, TV, and to help him bowl. He especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

    Frank is survived by his wife of 67 years, Red; his children: Jeane, John (Bonnie), Jay (Nancy), Jerry (special friend Tracy) Giordana; grandchildren: Angela, Uriah (Monique), Nick, Jon (Brooke) Giordana, Damon (Marie), Dean (Amy), Davis, Valerie (fiancé Brandon) Voights, Melanie (David) Balthazor, Corey (special friend Chelsey), Brent (special friend Skye), Antonio Giordana, and Michael Mylen; son-in-law: David Voights; 12 great grandchildren; sister, Janice (Bob) Hammen; sisters-in-law: LaDonna, Lorraine "Butter", Sally Giordana; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, his daughters Wendy Voights and Joy Marie Giordana; brothers: Carl (Dolores), Joe, Emil, Jim (Sally), Bob (Pope), and Rich Giordana; sisters: Sr. Jilene, Philomena(Rudy) Skalmusky, Mary (Heine) Hubert, Lucille (Sonny) Schmidt, and other relatives.

    Funeral services for Frank will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at SAINT KATHARINE DREXEL- ST. MARY SITE, 119 W 7th Street, Kaukauna with Fr. Jerry Pastors officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 11, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at BOETTCHER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 2401 Fieldcrest Drive with a prayer service to conclude the evening.   • Note: Florence "Red" Giordana, age 90, of Kaukauna, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at St. Paul Home surrounded by her family. She was born on January 22, 1927 in Two Rivers, WI to the late Wendolin and Elizabeth (Nahm) Weigel. On October 2, 1948, "The Feast of the Guardian Angel", Red married Frank Giordana at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna. The couple enjoyed 67 years together prior to his death on March 7, 2016. Florence was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Kaukauna.

    Red graduated from Chilton High School in 1945, Outagamie Rural Normal School in 1947, and University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in 1967. She taught school at WRAY School in Chilton, Wis. 1947-1948, Old Glory, town of Hobart 1948-1950, Sacred Heart School in Sherwood 1965-1967, and Kimberly Area Schools from 1967-1987, when she retired.

    She was a member of Outagamie Retired Teachers, Wisconsin State Teachers, and St. Al's Church. Red was a member of Sweet Adelines for 25 years. She especially enjoyed her Monday card group. Bowling, golf and bingo were other favorite activities.

    Red and Frank were charter members of the Cabaret Dance Club. Camping, traveling and spending time up north with their family were cherished memories.

    Florence is survived by her children: Jeane, John (Bonnie), Jay (Nancy), Jerry Giordana: grandchildren: Angela, Uriah (Monique), Nick, Jon (Brooke) Giordana, Damon (Marie), Dean (Amy), Davis (special friend, Stephanie) Voights, Valerie (Brandon) Hutsen, Melanie (David) Balthazor, Corey (special friend, Chelsey), Brent (special friend, Skye), Antonio Giordana; son-in-law, David Voights; 12 great-grandchildren: Lexi, Morgan, Carson, Mason, Aubrey and Baby G. to come, Elizabeth, Emma, Mya, Miranda, Kalia, Liliana and Boden. Sisters: Elizabeth "Ruth" Kupka, Margarette "June" (Frank) Hallfeld, Sharon Goetsch (John) and Virginia Johnson; brothers: Joseph (Penny) and Carl (special friend, Pat) Weigel, and Jerry (Carol) Amerpohl; Red is further survived by her husband's sister, Janice (Bob) Hammen, sisters-in-law: LaDonna, Lorraine "Butter" and Sally Giordana; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

    Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, daughters, Wendy Voights and Joy Marie Giordana and brothers-in-law, Robert Kupka and Jerry Johnson, nephew, Mike Kupka and niece Fuychsia Jewell.

    Funeral services for Red will be at 12 noon on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at St. Katharine Drexel Parish at St. Mary Church, 119 West Seventh St., Kaukauna. Friends may call on Friday, December 1, 2017 at Boettcher Family Funeral Home, 2401 Fieldcrest Dr., Kaukauna from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service concluding the evening. Wendy graduated from Kaukauna High School in 1972.Wendy married David Dewayne Voights on March 23, 1974. They enjoyed 40 years of wedded bliss. Wendy was an active member of the Catholic Church at Saint Katharine Drexel Parish. Wendy enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and grandchildren.

    Wendy is survived by her husband, David Voights, Kaukauna; daughter, Valerie Voights and Brandon Hutsen, Mukwonago; sons: Damon (Marie) Voights, Combined Locks; Dean (Amy) Voights, Appleton; and Davis Voights, Appleton; parents, Frank and Florence Giordana, Kaukauna; her sister, Jeane Giordana, Clintonville; brothers: John (Bonnie) Giordana, Little Chute; Jay (Nancy) Giordana, Kaukauna; Jerry Giordana and Tracy Heim, Green Bay; grandchildren: Elizabeth, Emma, Mya, and Miranda Voights. She was preceded in death by her sister Joy Marie Giordana.

    The Mass of Christian Burial for Wendy will be at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL PARISH at St. Aloysius Church, 2401 Main Ave., Kaukauna with Fr. Jerry Pastors officiating.   • Note: Our beloved father, brother, grandpa and great grandpa, Donald "Monus" Verstegen, age 88, Little Chute, passed away July 10, 2017. He is now at peace with our Lord and his loving wife, Doris and his son, Jim.

    Don was born in Little Chute on November 1, 1928, son of the late George and Marie (Kees) Verstegen. He graduated from Little Chute High School in 1947 and married Doris Muthig on September 6, 1958. Don proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the American Legion Post #258 in Little Chute. Don loved to play cards and was involved with several different card clubs through the years. He drove truck for the Appleton Papers Lox Mill for 43 years before his retirement in 1991.

    Don is survived by his children: Jeff Verstegen, Kaukauna; Jolene Verstegen, Little Chute; Judi (John) Wolf, Appleton; Jon Verstegen, Suamico; his grandchildren: Crystal (Cory) Solon, Derek (Valerie) Verstegen, Amy Losselyong, Joshua (Holly), Benjamin & Nicholas Wolf, and Sophia Verstegen; great-grandchildren: McKenzie Gillis, Alaena & Aubrey Wolf and Marlee Verstegen; brothers: Carl and Ross Verstegen; sisters-in-law: Lois Selig and Geneva Muthig; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

    Don was preceded in death by his wife, Doris; a son, James Verstegen; his parents, George and Marie Verstegen; father and mother-in-law, John and Norma (Doehling) Muthig; brothers and sisters-in-law: Doris Verstegen, Marian Verstegen, Earl Muthig, Sylvester Muthig, Joyce (Robert) Balthazar and Kenneth Muthig; nieces and nephews: Marlene Lyons, Karen Kuchenbecker, Bruce Muthig and Doug Muthig.

    Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 15, 2017, at the Verkuilen-Van Deurzen Family Funeral Home, 101 Canal Street, Little Chute, with Deacon Bud Klister officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. A celebration of Don's life will be held at Hollander's Pub and Grill following the memorial service.     Our beloved Wife, Mother, Sister, Grandma & Great-Grandma Doris J. (Muthig) Verstegen, 85, Little Chute, passed away at home on January 20, 2017. She is now at peace with our Lord and her beloved son, Jim.

    Doris was born in Deer Creek on Jan 19, 1932 to the late John & Norma (Doehling) Muthig. She graduated from Clintonville High School in 1950 and married Donald Verstegen on Sept 6, 1958. She spent her life in service to others. When she wasn't caring for her family, she was waiting on her customers. She was a successful business person, opening Mom's Cozy Café with her son, Jim. They owned & operated the restaurant from 1987 to 1991.

    Doris is survived by her husband Donald Verstegen, her children, Jeff Verstegen, Kaukauna; Jolene Verstegen, Little Chute; Judi (John) Wolf, Appleton; Jon Verstegen, Saumico; her Grandchildren, Crystal (Cory) Solon, Derek (Valerie) Verstegen, Amy Losselyong, Joshua (Holly), Benjamin & Nicholas Wolf, and Sophia Verstegen; Great-Grandchildren: McKenzie Gillis, Alaena & Aubrey Wolf and Marlee Verstegen. Doris is also survived by her sister Lois Selig, sister-in-law & brothers-in-law: Geneva Muthig, Carl Verstegen and Ross Verstegen and many nieces & nephews

    She was preceded in death by her son James Verstegen, her parents John & Norma (Doehling) Muthig, her brothers & sister: Earl Muthig, Sylvester Muthig, Joyce (Robert) Balthazar, Kenneth Muthig, her parents-in-law George & Marie (Kees) Verstegen, her sisters-in-law Doris Verstegen & Marian Verstegen, nieces & nephews Marlene Lyons, Karen Kuchenbecker, Bruce Muthig & Doug Muthig.

    A private family service is being held at the Verkuilen-Van Deurzen Family Funeral Home. A celebration of Doris' life will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2017, at 12:00 p.m. at Hollander's Pub & Grill in Little Chute.
