Mr. Unmuth was self-employed prior to the time when he worked for the Outagamie Highway Department 17 years, retiring two years ago. He was a member of St. Theresa's Catholic Church, a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army and a member of the D.A.V. Survivors include a daughter, of Mrs. David (Kathy) Verhagen, of Neenah; four sons: Gereon (Jerry), Appleton; twin sons: Jack, of Kimberly, and Joseph, of New London; Mark, at home; a brother, Walter Unmuth, of Dunlap California; two sisters: Mrs. Tony (Marie) Wickesberg, of Appleton; Mrs. Peg Larkins, of San Francisco, Calif.; 10 grandchildren. Mr. Unmuth was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine, October 22, 1977 and a son, William, July 1965. The complete funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Theresa's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Carl Buresh officiating. Internment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.

She was born in Appleton on November 19, 1916, to the late Charles and Delia (Romenesko) Unmuth. Marie was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter and Edward Unmuth, and a sister, Peggy Unmuth Jacobs. She is survived by her husband, Anton "Tony", whom she was married to for 63 years; her son, Jim (Pat) Wickesberg, Tulsa, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Jennifer Wickesberg, San Antonio, Texas; and Matthew Wickesberg, Dallas, TX. She is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. The funeral Mass will be Tuesday, December 8th, 1998, at 4:00 p.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Marquette St. with Father Donald Zuleger officiating. There will be a visitation at the church from 3:00 p.m. until the time of mass. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery. The family would especially like to thank Wayne and Lucy Schoen for all their kindness and care.

Age 90, died peacefully following a brief illness on Monday, August 20th, 2001. He was born in Appleton February 13th, 1911, to Julius and Agnes (Becher) Wickesberg. He married Marie Unmuth on October 16th, 1935, at St. Theresa's Catholic Church and was a longtime member of the St. Pius X Catholic church. Tony spent most of his life in Appleton and and recently moved to Roswell, Ga., to be near his son and daughter in law. He was preceded in death by his wife in December 1998 and by his parents; two sisters, Agnes and Sister Elizabeth, and a three brothers, Herbert, Hilbert and Clarence. He is survived by a son and daughter in law, Jim and Pat Wickesberg, Alpharetta, Ga.; grandchildren, Jennifer Wickesberg, of San Antonio TX; and Matthew Wickesberg, of Phoenix Arizona; sister, Sister M. Julius Wickesberg, of the Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc; and several nieces and nephews. Private funeral services were held in Roswell on August 24th. Graveside services will be held on Monday August 27th, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's cemetery in Appleton, Fr. Don Zuleger officiating.

  • Note: Romenesko, Mildred (Kuehl) 1998 Appleton Post Crescent dated 12/13/1998; Mildred Romenesko, Appleton, age 85, formerly of Neenah, passed away on Friday, December 11th, 1998, at Appleton Medical center. She was born on April 29th, 1913 the daughter of the late Charles and Lena (Haase) Kuehl. On June 27th, 1981, Mildred married Orrin Romenesko in Appleton. Mildred was an avid reader of mystery novels and enjoyed working on crossword puzzles. Survivors include her husband, Orrin; her daughter, Patricia Laursen-Farster, of Menasha; a sister, Eleanor Kuehl, of Appleton; and six children, Tom (Becky) Romenesko, of California; Bruce (Peggy) Romenesko, of Maryland; David (Libby) Romenesko, of Michigan; Peter (Kathy) Romenesko, of Colorado; Carol (Jim) Kuehl, of Hartland and Mary (John) Geiger, of Sun Prairie; 14 grandchildren and two nieces. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 15th, 1998, at 11:00 a.m. at Westgor funeral home, Neenah, with Father Michael O’Rourke officiating. Internment will be in the Oak Hill cemetery. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday at the funeral home from 10 A.M. until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers memorials are appreciated to St. Joseph's food pantry, the Salvation Army, or the charity of one's choice.
