  • Note: Leo Joseph Blair, Kaukauna, age 84, died Wednesday, July 21, 2010, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born August 7, 1925, in Freedom, son of the late Edward and Mary (Mangold) Blair. On May 15, 1948, he was united in marriage to Florence Wuyts in Kaukauna. Together they enjoyed 58 years of marriage until her death in 2006. Leo was an U.S. Army Veteran serving two tours of duty during WWII, and a member of the Wrightstown American Legion Post #436. He was employed at Thilmany Pulp and Paper for 44 years as a pipe fitter and fire chief until his retirement. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club. Family, friends, and neighbors were very important in Leo's life, especially the grand and great-grandchildren.

    He will be deeply missed by his five children: Judy (Paul) Faust, Ray Blair (special friend, Judie Quella), Bob (Mary) Blair, Nancy (Curt) Kalies, and Lisa Blair; a son-in-law, Jeff Janssen; 10 grandchildren: Adam, Sara, Erin, Ryan (special friend, Kerry), Renee (Andy), Chad (Tammy), Quinn (Jen), Lance (Lacey), Kris (Frank), and Brian (Melissa); 8 great-grandchildren: Dillian, Zachary, Aubrey, Ava, Blake, Jennifer, Connor, Faith, and baby Kalies; a brother, Norbert Blair; two sisters: Bernice Verhoven and Joan Blair; three sisters-in-law: Germaine Blair, Arlene Blair, and Bernice Wuyts; two brothers-in-law: Robert (Rita) Wuyts and Jack (Bernice) Wuyts.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Florence, a daughter, Sue Janssen; a granddaughter, Jennifer Janssen, three brothers: Edward (Virginia), Jerome, and Cletus; two sisters: Loretta (Alvin) Vandenberg and Ruth (Vic) Diedrich; three brothers-in-law: Albert (Louise) Wuyts, Harry (Jean) Wuyts, and Carl Wuyts; four sisters-in-law: Anne (Joseph) Rademacher, Bertha (Bill) Zahn, Emma (Ezra) Terry, and Phyllis Blair.

    Funeral Services for Leo will be at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at Peace United Methodist Church, 2300 Wisconsin Ave., Kaukauna with Rev. Tim Albrecht officiating. Full military rites will follow. Friends may call directly at the church from 3 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund in Leo's name is being established.     Blair, Florence M. Florence M. Blair, Kaukauna, age 78, died Wednesday, May 31, 2006, at home surrounded by her loving husband and children following a courageous battle with cancer. Florence was born December 12, 1927, to the late August and Lydia (Fleming) Wuyts in Kaukauna. She married Leo Blair on May 15, 1948, in Kaukauna.

    Florence was a lifetime member of Peace United Methodist Church. She enjoyed her Tuesday Morning Study Group and visiting with friends and neighbors. Florence loved being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother and cherished the time she shared with her family.

    She will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 58 years, Leo Blair; five children: Judy (Paul) Faust, Ray Blair(special friend, Judie Quella), Bob (Mary) Blair, Nancy (Curt) Kalies and Lisa Blair; son-in-law, Jeff Janssen; 10 grandchildren: Adam, Sara, Erin, Ryan (Nichole) Renee (Andy), Chad, Quinn (special friend, Jen) Lance, Kris (Frank) and Brian (Melissa); six great-grandchildren: Dillian, Zachary, Aubrey, Ava, Jennifer and Blake; three brothers: Carl (Bernice) Wuyts, Jack (Bernice) Wuyts and Bob (Rita) Wuyts; a sister, Emma Terry; a brother-in-law, Norbert Blair and five sisters-in-law: Louise Wuyts, Bernice Verhoven, Joan Blair, Germaine Blair and Arlene Blair.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Sue Janssen, a granddaughter, Jennifer Janssen, two brothers, Harry (Jean) Wuyts and Albert Wuyts, two sisters, Bertha (Bill) Zahn and Anna (Joe) Rademacher and a brother-in-law, Ezra Terry.

    The funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2006, at PEACE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 2300 Wisconsin Avenue, Kaukauna with Pastor Timothy J. Albrecht officiating. Friends will be received on Saturday at CHURCH from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service. Entombment will follow at Appleton's Highland Memorial Park.   • Note: Norbert "Nubby" P. Blair, age 85, son of the late Edward and Mary (Mangold) Blair, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2015. He was born January 17, 1930 in Freedom. Norbert was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. He was employed by Thilmany Pulp and Paper for 37 years until his retirement in 1991. He served in the U.S. Army in 1951 until 1953 and in the U.S. Army Reserve until 1959. He married Phyllis (Diedrich) on November 7, 1955 in Kaukauna. Phyllis passed away twenty-five years ago on July 4, 1990.

    Nubby enjoyed craft hobbies, such as woodworking and plastic canvas creations. He was a member of VFW Post 3319.

    He is survived by a sister Bernice Verhoeven, Kaukauna; two sisters-in law: Germaine and Arlene Blair, of Kaukauna; sons: Randy (Susan) Blair of Appleton and Dennis Blair of Combined Locks; grandson Greg (Ashley) Blair of Appleton; two great grandchildren: Bentley and Mackenzie; special friend Bette Spencer; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Phyllis; three sisters: Loretta VandenBerg, Ruth Diedrich and Joan Blair; four brothers: Edward, Jerome, Cletus, and Leo Blair; two sisters-in-law: Virginia and Florence Blair; three brothers-in-law: Alvin VandenBerg, Vic Diedrich, and Earl Verhoeven.

    A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer Street, Kaukauna, with Father Tom Pomeroy officiating. Visitation will held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at BOETTCHER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 2401 Fieldcrest Drive, Kaukauna, and again the following day at church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services.
