    Neider, John A.


    John A. Neider, 60, Appleton, died unexpectedly Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton, Wisconsin. John was born on December 3, 1949, to Gordon and Mary (McFadden) Neider. John married the love of his life, Bernadette Rosin, March 18, 1972, and had three wonderful children. John was an avid NASCAR fan and especially liked Dale Earnhardt Jr. John also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren who brought him much happiness. His face would light up when he would see them. John also enjoyed traveling and liked driving his car, and in his earlier years, his boat. John was a liver transplant survivor for four and a half years thanks to the wonderful care he received from the UW-Madison Hospital.

    Survivors include his wonderful wife of almost 38 years, Bernadette; his son, John Joseph (fiance Sarah Desotell) and grandson Ian; his son Kenneth (Erin) Neider and their three children: Weston, Alyson and Hunter; his daughter Barbara (Joseph) Lonechild and their son, Johnathan and step-grandson, Joseph. He is also survived by his brothers: Gordon Jr. (Shue) Neider and Richard (Judith) Neider and a sister Susan (Phillip) Carletti. John is also survived by his sisters-in-law and brother-in-law: Eugene (Robin) Rosin, Bonnie (Richard) Fassbender, Marcelene VanDynHoven, Ann (Leon) Sprangers, Jim (Jeanne) Wegand, and Jerry VanDynHoven. John also had numerous, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.

    John was preceded in death by his father, Gordon Sr.; his father-in-law, Ervin Rosin; two sisters-in-law: Barbara (Rosin) Wegand and Renae Rosin; along with his grandparents.

    Services will be held at 12 p.m. (Noon) on Saturday March 13, 2010, at Valley Funeral Home. Friends may visit the family from 10 a.m. until Noon. Burial will be at Highland Memorial Park.

    We would like to give a special Thanks to the staff of Colony Oaks Care Center, especially Jean Meade and Dr. Barkmeier.

    Obituary Herman Gossens 73, 232 N. Sidney Street, Kimberly, died about 10 o'clock Thursday evening. He had suffered a stroke while in his garden early in the week and had not regained consciousness. Surviving are four daughters, Sister Mary Fidelis, Wheaton, Ill.; Sister Mary Illumina, St. Joseph hospital, Milwaukee, and Mrs. Fred Never and Mrs. Frank Brooks, Kimberly; four sons, Arthur, Joseph, Norbert and Rene, all of Kimberly; a brother, William, Greenleaf; two sisters, Mrs. Regina Coonen, Appleton; and Mrs. Martin Hutches, De Pere; and 21 grandchildren. Friends may call at the Jansen Funeral home, Kimberly, from 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon until the services. The rosary will be recited at 7:30 on Saturday and on Sunday evenings. The solemn high funeral mass will be at 9 o'clock Monday morning at Holy Name Church, Kimberly, with the Rev. C. F. Vanden Borne as celebrant. The Rev. Victor De Cleene and the Rev. La Verne De Cleene, St. Norbert college, De Pere, Nephews of the deceased, will act as deacon and sub-deacon. Burial is to be in the parish cemetery. Gossens was born April 16, 1876, in De Pere and lived in Kimberly for the last 30 years. He was employed by the Kimberly-clark corporation until he retired four years ago.

    Mrs. Mary (DeCleene) Gossens, 72, Sidney street, Kimberly, a resident there for the last 30 years, died at her home at 6 o,clock this morning after an illness of six months. She was born in California, April 18, 1876.
    Survivors are the widower Herman; four daugthers, Sister M. Fidelis, St. Michael's Hospital, Milwaukee; Sister M. Illumina, St. Joseph's Hospital Milwaukee; Mrs. Fred Never, Kimberly; and Mrs. Frank Brooks, Laramie, Wyo; four sons, Arthur Gossens, Combined Locks; Joseph, Norbert and Rene Gossens, Kimberly; four brothers Peter DeCleene, Chicago; and Joseph, Bernard and William DeCleene, Depere; three sisters, Mrs. Len Hendericks, Mrs. Mike Zeleten and Mrs. Peter Van Straten, Depere; and 16 grandchildren.
    A solemn high mass will be held at 9 o'clock Saturday morning at Holy Name Catholic church, Kimberly. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may start calling Thursday afternoon at the Jansen Funeral home, Kimberly, where the rosary will be recited at 7:30 Thursday and Friday nights.
    Mrs. Gossens was member of the Christian Mothers Society of Holy Name church.

    Gossens, Norbert A. Norbert A. Gossens, age 92, of Town of Menasha, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Wednesday, March 8, 2006. He was born on August 13, 1913, in De Pere, son of Herman and Mary (De Cleen) Gossens. He married Anthonette Schmidt on August 20, 1973. He had also been married to Mary Koch, and together they had eight children. Norb held various positions at Kimberly-Clark Research and Development for 41 years. He was an avid fisherman, he and his son, Bob, ran a charter out of Kewaunee known as the "GG." He loved to hunt deer and small game. Norb pitched horseshoe at Kemps Bar for many years, played cards, bowled, and most recently made wonderful covered hangers for his family and friends. He was a past board member and president of the Kimberly Recreation Association (KRA) for many years. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Toni; children: Barbara (Benotch) Gossens, her children: Norb (Linda), Guy (Carrie); Barbara (Bob) Havel, their son, Bruce (Michelle); Janet Weiss and special friend, Harold Sippel and children: Jill (Rick) Meixl, Jeff (Leah) Gloudemans, Jane (Pat) Schaefer; John (Susan) Gossens, their children: Scott, Amy (Rev. Paul) Rydecki, Mary (James) Block, Stephanie (Scott) Rademacher, Mark; Dave (Vicky) Gossens, their children: Caleb, Drew, Whitney; Tim (Sandy) Gossens, their children: Josh (Natalie), Andy (Alison); Gwen (Dan) Pociask, their children: Ryan (Michelle), Sam; Don Gossens (special friend Kathy), his children: Benjamin and Renae. He is also survived by his step children: Bob (Jackie) Schmidt, their children: Matthew, Jesse, Nicole; Kim (Dave) Jacob, their children: Christopher, Michael, Jason, Cheri, Nicole, Cody, Jennifer, Stephanie and Ryan; 24 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Robert Gossens; an infant son, Richard; grandsons: Jon Gloudemans, Gere Gossens, and Brian Havel; a son-in-law, Ray Weiss; three brothers: Ole and wife Katherine, Joe and wife Marie, Rene and wife Norma; three sisters: Sister Fidelis, Sister Illumina, and Ceal Brooks and husband Frank. Funeral services for Norb will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2006, at 11 a.m., at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, Neenah, with Rev. Richard Allen officiating. Friends may call at Westgor Funeral Home, Neenah on Friday, (TODAY) March 10, from 4 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m.; and again on Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.   • Death: Irenaeus Peter (Rene) Gossens died on January 7, 2003, at age 86.
  • Burial: He was buried in Holy Name Cemetery, Kimberly, Outagamie Co, Wisconsin.
  • Note: Age 86, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2003 after a brief illness. Rene was born on June 28, 1916 in DePere, the son of Herman and Mary (DeCleene) Gossens. On February 4, 1947, Rene married the former Norma Hildebrand in Butternut, Wisconsin; she preceded him in death on November 7, 2002. Rene was a corporal in the U.S. Army with the 472nd Antiaircraft Automatic Weapons Battalion, Battery B, from 1943 to 1946. He served 28 months in the Philippines, Australia, and New Guinea. Rene was later employed by Kimberly-Clark Corporation in Kimberly for 42 years and was a faithful member of the Holy Name Catholic Church in Kimberly.

    Rene's love of fishing and expertise at it were legendary. He also enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and was an avid Packer fan. He was a loving, kind,and gentle soul. Thank you, Dad, for creating a world for us where parents never fought, where love was never questioned, and generosity was a way of life. We love you and we miss you.

    Rene is survived by a daughter; Rosalyn (Joseph) Boero, Butternut, Wisconsin; five sons: Gary (Vickie) Gossens of Kimberly; Denny (Janice) Gossens of Neenah; Kevin Gossens of Waupaca; Randy (Vicki) Gossens of Kimberly; Ken Gossens of Appleton; thirteen grandchildren: Sara (Tom) Vanden Heuvel, Eric, Gina, and Kari Gossens; Missy Meidl; Jody (Aaron) Rauen; Jodi (Craig) White; Shawn Allen; Kelly Gossens; Margaret and John Boero; Dan and Kacie Gossens; and seven great grandchildren. Rene is further survived by his brother Norb (Toni) Gossens of Neenah. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Norma, and an infant son Joseph; brothers: Arthur (Kate) Gossens; Joe (Marie) Gossens; sisters: Sr. Fidelis Gossens; Sr. Illumina Gossens; Agnes (George) Fritz; and Cecelia (Frank) Brooks.

    A shared funeral liturgy for Rene and his mother-in-law, Edna Hildebrand who passed away on Sunday, January 5 will be held at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, January 9, 2003 at HOLY NAME OF JESUS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 600 E. Kimberly Avenue in Kimberly with Fr. Dennis Bergsbaken officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the church on Thursday from 9:30 AM until the hour of the services.
