[John Richmond LAMBIE was born on 15 Sep 1823 in Barhouse, Mauchline, Ayr, Scotland. Twin of Thomas Lambie. He was christened on 28 Sep 1823 in Mauchline, Ayr, Scotland. He emigrated before 17 Mar 1852 from Scotland. He immigrated after 17 Mar 1852 to (the) United States. He bought land from the county, the Lambie homestead, in 1862 in Outagamie Co., WI. He was a farmer in Aug 1870 in Kaukauna, Outagamie Co., WI. He was living on 5 Aug 1870 in Kaukauna, Outagamie Co., WI. Per the 1870 census: He had real estate valued at $800.00 and personal property valued at $190.00; also he could not read. He was living a couple of houses from Phillip O'Riley ((58) in dwelling 88) from Ireland, James Aird ((24) in dwelling 89) from Scotland and William Lambie (a possible brother)((47) in dwelling 92) from Scotland. He was living on 18 Feb 1880 in Kaukauna, Outagamie Co., WI. He was a farmer in Aug 1880 in Kaukauna, Outagamie Co., WI. These Lots are now part of the Second Ward of Kaukauna. His Probate does not identify which heir received this property. He bought land from Lot numbered fifteen (15) in Block one (1) of the Nielsons Addition to the City of Kaukauna, before 5 Jan 1906 in Kaukauna, Outagamie Co., WI. Because of the various delays in the Probate of his will, the heir who inherited this Lot is not identified. He signed a Will on 5 Jan 1906 in Kaukauna, Outagamie Co., WI. Basically his will leaves everything to his wife Signa. The Will was witnessed by G.H. Dawson and Benjamin L. Dawson, both lawyers and of Kaukauna, WI. Later they moved and caused a delay in the Probate, refer to the Probate file. He owned his house in Apr 1910 in Kaukauna, Outagamie Co., WI. He was living on 19 Apr 1910 in Kaukauna, Outagamie Co., WI. Per the 1910 Census: It is indicated he has been married twice, and he has been married for 3 years; this would make the marriage year 1907 vice 1877, most likely an error. Also he immigrated in 1852 and is a naturalized alien. He died on 21 Apr 1911 in Kaukauna, Outagamie Co., WI. He had Will Proved (Probated) on 2 May 1911 in Kaukauna, Outagamie Co., WI. Death of John Lambie, Sr.-A Resident of Kaukauna for Sixty Years.

John Lambie died at his home on Oviatt street, Friday morning, April 21, at eight o'clock from diseases incident to advanced age. He was one of the earliest pioneers here, settling in the town of Kaukauna nearly 40 years ago, where for fifty years he was one of the sturdy farmers of that locality.

John Lambie was born September 15, 1833, at Dunhead, Machland in Scotland, and was married to Margaret Aird in the year of 1850. In 1862, they came to Kaukauna where she died about thirty-five years ago, the mother of nine children, all still living. About thirty-three years ago he married Mrs. Gene Hanson, then the mother of one son and to whom was born six children, making in all in this remarkable family sixteen children and all of whom are living. There has been born forty-five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, making together sixty-seven direct descendants of Mr. Lambie.

Of hardy Scotch parentage he was made of the ? and ? which go out into the world and help to build countries and found empires. Coming to this vicinity when it was scarcely more than the red man's home, he grappled with a true pioneer's implicit and understandable courage all the great difficulties which permeated themselves and from the wild ? forest covered he carved out the home where was born the generation which are so worthily succeeding him. Eight years ago Mr. Lambie sold his farm and retired from active life, moving into the city where he purchased a comfortable home. He was confined to his bed only one week being able to be around the home up to that time.

    OLD RESIDENT DIES.
Mrs. John Lambie Passes Away Following an Operation.

Mrs. John Lambie aged 65 years, died quite suddenly at 4:45 o'clock Monday morning at her home on Oviatt street, following an operation Saturday for strangulated hernia. She was taken ill Friday and the physician at once pronounced her condition critical and recommended an operation to relieve the serious condition, but the effort proved to be without avail and her death soon followed. Mrs. Signe Hanson-Lambie was a native of Borse Denmark, where she was born September 28th, 1846. She came to America in 1874, settling at Oconto where in 1877 she was married to John Lambie, one of the pioneer settlers of the town of Kaukauna since 1831 and who died about nine months ago. Mr. and Mrs. Lambie retired from active life in 1903, removing from their farm to this city to spend the remainder of their lives in ease.

Surviving are her children, Peter Hanson of Vesper, Wis., Mrs. George Frazer, Appleton, George of Oak Grove, Frank on the Island, Bessie, Bertha, and Jennie at home; also surviving is her aged mother Mrs. Christina Jensen, and her sister Mrs. Carrie Christofferson, both of this city.

The funeral was held Thursday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock from Brokaw Memorial church following a short service at her late home at 1:30 o'clock, the Rev. S. J. Tink officiating. Interment was at the Kelso cemetery by the side of her husband.

The sympathy of the entire city goes out to the family who have lost both parents in so short a time, especially to the daughters who are left alone at their home.

The pallbearers were William Taggart, Lawrence Nelson, Peter Simpson, William Schlender, Gus Boettcher and Max Lemke.
