    Formerly of 916 Lawe St., Kaukauna, age 81, died Christmas day. He was born November 8, 1898 in the Town of Kaukauna and had farmed in the Town of Kaukauna until 1948 when he moved to the Lawe St. address. He was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters in the Town of Freedom. He is survived by three sisters: Mrs. Nell (Clarence) Eiting, Wrightstown; Mrs. Russell (Lorraine) Senso, Kaukauna; Mrs. Roy (Honey) Abitz, Green Bay; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, four brothers and three sisters. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kaukauna, with the Rev. Robert Kabat officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Greenwood Funeral Home after 3 p.m. Thursday and there will be a parish prayer service at 8 p.m. Thursday.

    George Arnoldussen Rt. 2, Freedom

    Age 67, passed away around noon Friday after a brief illness. He was born August 2, 1902 at Freedom and farmed in the Town of Kaukauna until 1962 when he retired and moved in the village. He was a member of the St. Nicholas Holy Name Society.

    Survivors are his wife, Julia; two daughters, Mrs. Patrick [Juline] Grady, Rt. 2, Kaukauna; Mrs. Robert [Florus] Weyenberg, Rt. 5, Appleton; three sons, Fabian, Wrightstown; Myron and Hilary, both of Freedom; one brother, Peter, Kaukauna; five sisters, Mrs. Clarence [Nellie] Eiting, Wrightsown; Mrs. John [Ann] Bowers, and Mrs. Russ [Lorraine[ Senso, both of Kaukauna; Mrs. William [Martha] Coffey, Appleton; and Mrs. Roy [Elmira] Abbotts, De Pere; 24 grandchildren.

    Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Nicholas Catholic Church and burial will be in the parish cemetery. The Rev. Alfred H. Hietpas will officiate. Friends may call at the Greenwood Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Sunday. A wake service will be held at 7 p.m. and a scriptural rosary at 8 o'clock Sunday evening. Thursday, January 28, 1982.

    Age 74, died Tuesday after a brief illness. She was born July 12, 1904 in Kaukauna and she and her husband lived and farmed in the town of Oneida since 1929. She was a member of the St. Nicholas Christian Mothers and the Freedom Golden Agers. Survivors include three daughters: Mrs. Carl (Rosie) Greiner, Freedom; Mrs. Tom (Joyce) Broeren, Green Bay; and Mrs. Thomas (Helen) Dachelet, Winona, Minnesota; three sons: Dan and Vernon, both of Freedom; and Glenn, Kaukauna; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Joan (Harvey) Bowers, Kaukauna; a brother, Peter Arnoldussen, Kaukauna; four sisters, Mrs. Martha (William) Coffey, Appleton; Mrs. Nellie (Clarence) Eiting, Wrightstown; Mrs. Russ (Lorraine) Senso, Kaukauna, and Mrs. Roy (Honey) Abitz, Green Bay; 28 grandchildren and a great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband, John, in 1977 and a son, Harvey in 1964. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Freedom, with the Rev. John Feeney officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Greenwood Funeral Home, Kaukauna, after 2 p.m. Wednesday. There will be a Christian Mothers rosary at 7 p.m. and a prayer service at 8 p.m. Wednesday.

    122 ½ S. Walnut St., Appleton, Age 29, passed away at 10:15 p.m. Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Hospital following a lingering illness. He was born November 26, 1941 in Green Bay and had been an area resident most of his life.

    He is survived by his wife, Nancy; his father, Clifton Coffey, Kaukauna; four brothers, Thomas, Little Chute; Timothy, Bryan, and Jack, all of Kaukauna; four sisters, Mrs. Jacob (Darlene) Van Camp, Freedom; Mrs. James (Margaret Ann) Swedberg, Mrs. Patrick (Mary Jane) O'Brien, and Colleen Coffey, Kaukauna.

    Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday morning from Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna, with burial in St. Nicholas Cemetery, Freedom. Friends may call at the Fargo Funeral Home after 3 p.m. Friday and there will be a prayer service at 7:15 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.

    Julia Arnoldussen Newhouse [Julia Kerkhoff]

    Formerly of Freedom, age 84, died Tuesday, May 22, 1990 at Parkside Care Center. She was born December 19, 1905 in the Town of Holland, to the late Andrew and Wilhelmina [Van Lanen] Kerkhoff. She was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Freedom, the Christian Mothers of the church, and the Freedom Golden Agers.

    She is survived by three son and daughters in-law, Fabian and Iris, Arnoldussen, Wrightstown; Myron 'Mike' and LaVerne, Hilary and Loretta, all of Freedom; two daughters and sons in-law, Juline and Pat Grady, Mountain; Florus and Bob Weyenberg, Appleton; 24 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren; and two step sons, Bob and Darlene Newhouse, Oshkosh; Ronald, Minneapolis; four brothers and four sisters in-law, Adrian and Margaret Kerkhoff, De Pere; Louis and Mirina, New Orleans, Louisana; Mark and Dorothy, Freedom; Paul and Mary, Kelly Lake; four sisters and two brothers in-law, Sr. Lois, Ghana, West Africa; Vera and Bernard Feldkamp, Kaukauna; Edna Van De Loo, Little Chute; Mary and Charles Jansen, Combined Locks; her first husbands sisters; Nellie Eiting, Wrightown; Almira 'Honey' [Roy] Abitz, Green Bay; Lorraine [Russell] Senso, Kaukauna.

    She was preceded in death by her first husband, George Arnoldussen in 1969; her second husband, Lester Newhouse in 1988; a son, Bertrand in 1952; three sisters and four brothers.

    Funeral services will be 12 noon Friday at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Freedom with Father Dennis M. Ryan officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Fargo Funeral Home, 400 W. Wisconsin Ave., Kaukauna from 4-9 p.m. Thursday and after 9:30 a.m. Friday until the cortege leaves for the church. There will be a parish prayer service at 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established in her name.

    VanNuland Arndt, Laura E. Laura E. VanNuland Arndt Appleton Devoted Wife, Mother and Grandmother, Laura Elizabeth Arndt VanNuland, 9l, Waukesha, died peacefully on March 22, 2006, under the tender care of Linden Grove Elder Care and Season's Hospice Center from a complications of Alzheimer's disease. Laura, (Toots) was born November 7, 1914, in Wyoming Township, Waupaca County, Wisconsin, daughter of Gustav Kitzman and Anna (Barkholtz) Kitzman. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Big Falls, Wisconsin. She attended West Hill Grade School, Big Falls and Tigerton High School in Tigerton. On June 16, 1934, Laura became the bride of Arthur G. (Tuffy) Arndt. Confiding in only her Mother, she and Arthur eloped and married in Chicago, Ill. During the war, while "Tuffy" worked in the Navy yards in Washington, D.C., Laura attended the School of Cosmetology and worked with her sister Evelyn in a Beauty Shop in the D.C. area. Upon their return to Big Falls, "Toots" and "Tuffy" operated the Big Falls Store. Laura was an active member of the Big Falls VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Ladies Aide at St. Peter's Church. After the death of her husband in 1968, Laura continued to operate the store. On June 7, 1969, Laura married Jacob H. VanNuland at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Tigerton, Wisconsin. Jake and Laura operated the Tigerton Bowling Lanes, in Tigerton and raised Christmas trees in the Tigerton area until their retirement, at which time they moved to Lehigh Acres, Florida. They enjoyed many happy years there, taking great pleasure in entertaining many friends and relatives in their Florida home during the winter months. They also enjoyed visiting and traveling to many places, including Europe and Hawaii. During their final years together, Jake and Laura lived in Freedom, Wisconsin, and the Renaissance Assisted Living Home in Appleton until Jacob's death in 1999. In 1999, Laura moved to the Linden Grove Elder Care Home in Waukesha, Wisconsin to be near her daughter, Shirley. She remained there until her death. Laura is preceded in death by her parents, husbands, sons, Dennis Arndt, and Richard VanNuland, daughter-in-law, Florence VanNuland, grandsons, Jeffrey Arndt, Wayne Beirstaker, and Donald VanNuland, sisters, Elenor Kitzman and Evelyn Chiles, an infant brother, and brothers, Arnold, Alfred, Edward, Wilbert, Milton, Victor and Herbert Kitzman. Laura is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Shirley and James Proesel, Waterford, daughter-in-law and husband, Beverly and James Stoltz, Big Falls, and grandchildren, Bruce Proesel, David Proesel, Leiann Bachand, James Proesel Jr., Douglas Arndt, Dennis Arndt Jr., Denise Arndt, Thomas Arndt, Becky Popp, Karla Arndt, her sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Fritz Zimmerman, Big Falls, and her brother, Gerhart Kitzman, Embarrass. She is further survived by Jacob's family, son, James VanNuland, San Jose, California, daughters and sons-in-law, Joan and Donald Wetzel, Appleton, Rita and Donald Zalewski, Marquette, Michigan, RoseMary and Philip Salzman, Wild Rose, Betty VanNuland, West Bend and grandchildren, Patrick VanNuland, Raymond VanNuland, Thomas VanNuland, Michael VanNuland, Barbara Morgenstern, Maria Ireton, Ann Deckers, Joseph Wetzel, Linda VandeLoo, Lisa Bloedorn, Brenda Gehrt, Tami Zalewski, Stephen Zalewski, Philip Salzman Jr., John Salzman, Andreas Salzman, Lisa Hardy, Shannon Fauster, and Karen Ugarte. Laura is also survived by 47 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, sisters-in-law, Nellie VanNuland, Marie VanNuland, Kimberly, Theresa and Don Lamers, Sun Prairie and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation and the Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1810 N. McDonald Street, Appleton, on Tuesday, March 28, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will be in the Big Falls Cemetery, Big Falls, on Wednesday, March 29, 2006. We would like to thank the staff at Linden Grove Elder Care and The Season's Hospice staff for their tender and loving care given to our Mother during her last years. You have been Laura's Angels and we are eternally grateful.     Age 77, of Wild Rose, passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Appleton Medical Center. He was born on March 22, 1938 in Tigerton, WI to the late Louis A. and Agnes (Johnson) Salzman. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Philip received his bachelor degree in finance from UW-Platteville, as well as CPA and CPCU designations. Thirty years of his CPA career were spent with Wausau Insurance Co. in Wausau, WI followed by 10 years at Touchpoint Health Care in Appleton. Upon retirement, he became an accomplished author, writing many historical articles for the Marion Advertiser. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially working in his yard at the former Dopp Schoolhouse. Philip was united in marriage to RoseMary VanNuland on February 16, 1963 in Tigerton, WI and they were blessed with three children. He was very proud of his family, children and granddaughters.

    He will be dearly missed by his wife of 52 years, RoseMary; three sons: Philip, Jr. of Kileen, TX; John and Kate of Green Bay; Andreas and Jennifer of Creswell, OR; and four granddaughters: Madeline, Olivia, Amelia and Gabrielle.

    A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, N2845 Shadow Rd, Waupaca, with Fr. Xavier officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of Mass. Full military honors will follow the service. Burial of ashes will take place in the spring at St. Mary Magdalene Cemetery in Waupaca.
