  • Note: Gerald "Jerry" Hoehne, 62, Kimberly, passed away Saturday May 8, 2010, at home. Gerald was born Oct. 8, 1947, to Robert and Marjorie (Pein) Hoehne. In 1966, he graduated from Kaukauna High School. Jerry married Mary Verstegen on June 5, 1971, at St. John Church, Little Chute. Jerry served his country in the U.S. Army for two years in Germany and the Army National Guard, retiring in 1994 after 23 years of service. Jerry was employed by Thilmany of Kaukauna retiring in Jan. 2010, after 41 years. Jerry enjoyed traveling, spending time with his family and was an avid Wisconsin Badgers fan.

    Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Mary; four children, Garrick (Marleny) Hoehne and daughter (Ruby), Anchorage, AK; Christian Hoehne, Kimberly, WI; Kyle Hoehne, Menasha, WI; and Neil Hoehne, Kaukauna, WI. He is further survived by his mother-in-law, Grace Verstegen; brothers: Robert (Sharon) Hoehne, Kaukauna, WI, and Don (Marcia) Hoehne, Kaukauna, WI; sisters: Lynn (John) Stumpf, Morrison, CO, Barbara Bies, Little Chute, WI, Mary (Kevin) Cox, Kaukauna, WI; brothers-in-law: Steven (Denise) Verstegen, Hilbert, WI and Kevin (Julie) Verstegen, Greenville, WI; sisters-in-law: Barbara (Karl) Hooyman, Darboy, WI, Patricia (Rudy) Ronk, Shiocton, WI, and Carla (Richard) Masten, Greenville, WI; special Godchildren, Monica Dreissen, Brandon Hooyman and Tim Stumpf; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

    Jerry is preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law James Verstegen; and brother-in-law Gerald Bies.

    Visitation will be held Wednesday May 12, 2010, beginning at 2 p.m. until time of Mass at 5 p.m. at HOLY SPIRIT PARISH —KIMBERLY SITE (620 E. Kimberly Ave.). The Rev. Msgr. James Vanden Hogen will officiate. Committal in St. John Cemetery, Little Chute. Military rites conducted by the William Verhagen American Legion Post 60 will be held at the cemetery.     Becker, Mary Frances Frances, 87, Neenah, went to heaven Saturday, July, 28, 2007. Mary Frances Verstegen was born in Little Chute, Aug. 6, 1919, daughter of Aloys and Della (Keelen) Verstegen. She was baptized at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute. In her late teens, she worked at St. Elizabeth Hospital and in her twenties she worked at Kimberly Clark-Badger Globe. She married Paul Becker Nov. 25, 1948. They made their home in Neenah, having four children. They ran Becker's Dog Motel for years. She also worked at Brecklin's Viking in Winchester. She was a member of Martin Luther Church, Neenah. Frances was proud of her Dutch (and wee bit Irish) heritage. She enjoyed life and was seldom without a joke or funny story to tell. She had many wonderful, caring friends and family that she shared her life with.

    Frances is survived by her children, Keith Becker, Appleton; Kay and Keith Grosskopf, Winchester; Dean and Barb Becker, Menasha, and Mark Becker, Neenah; grandchildren, Sue (Randy) Roen and children, Zachary, Gabrielle and Alyssa; Nicholas (Amy) Becker and son, Mason; Matthew Becker, Crystal (Matt) Brunner and son, Beau; Corey (Fritz) Heathman, Lindsey, Kelly and Shauna Becker; a sister-in-law, Grace Verstegen, Little Chute; many nieces and nephews.

    She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Paul; siblings, Blanche Weidenhaupt, Norbert (Nubs), Lloyd (Lanky) and James (Jimmy) Verstegen.

    Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2007, at Martin Luther Church, 436 S. Lake Street, Neenah, with Revs. Jason Oakland and Richard Krahn officiating. Entombment will be in Shrine of Heaven Mausoleum, Neenah. Friends may call at Martin Luther Church from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday and at the church from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the service.

    In lieu of flowers, a memorial in Fran's name has been established for Martin Luther Church and the American Cancer Society.

    A heartfelt thanks to all who helped with her care at home, family, friends, neighbors and hospice, the last few weeks.

    Mom, we'll miss your easy going attitude towards life and your ability to laugh. As you say, "It's been a slice of heaven."

    Age 63, died Wednesday morning after a long illness. She was born February 6, 1916 in Little Chute and had been a Kaukauna resident most of her life. She had been employed by Clark Cleaners, Appleton. Survivors include her husband, Norman; a step-son, Wayne Wiedenhaupt, Kaukauna; two brothers: Norbert Verstegen and James Verstegen, both of Little Chute; a sister, Mrs. Paul (Frances) Becker Neenah; and three grandchildren. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Bethany Lutheran Church, Kaukauna, with the Rev. Walter Steinbach officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Kaukauna. Friends may call at the Greenwood Funeral Home, Kaukauna, after 3 p.m. Thursday and after 10 a.m. Friday at the church.

    Age 75, passed away on Tuesday morning, December 23, 2003, at Appleton Medical Center, following a short illness. Doris was born on August 28, 1928, in Appleton to the late Elmer and Marie (Kluck) Knoke. She briefly worked at the Wisconsin Telephone Company, but after her marriage to Raymond C. Witter on September 24, 1949, in Appleton, she became a full-time wife and mother. Though homebound for the last several years, she enjoyed staying in touch with family and friends through the telephone, mail and her yearly “special” Christmas cards. Doris is survived by her two daughters, Mary (Don) Micke, Brillion, and Cathy (Jeff) Hofkens, Neenah; three grandsons, Mike and Dan Micke, Brillion and David Hofkens, Neenah; her step-grandchildren, Tara Hofkens, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Ryan Hofkens, Carson City, Nevada; and Jeff Hofkens, Jr., Kaukauna; her nephew Jim (Pat) Buckley, Hyannis, Massachusetts; her “other daughter” Linda Kennedy, Appleton; and many other relatives and friends from the Appleton and Hatley areas. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond on October 21, 1981; her brother, Orison “Buddy” Knoke,; her sister Darlene (George) Buckley; and her sister-in-law and cousin, Irene Witter. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 26, 2003, at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, Appleton, with Chaplain Nolan Gnewuch officiating. Friends may call directly at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. At Doris’ request, the casket will be closed. Also at her request, because of the Holidays, the service will be simple and family oriented. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Appleton.     Age 96, passed away on Thursday, December 2, 1999 at an Appleton nursing home. Bill was born October 6, 1903 in Wrightstown, the son of the late Nicholas and Mary (Kortz) Timmers. On July 1, 1930 he married the former Veronica Obarska at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kaukauna; she survives. Bill was employed for thirty-nine years for Kimberly-Clark and retired in 1968. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club at Kimberly-Clark and the Holy Name Society at Holy Name Catholic Church. He was an avid card player and enjoyed watching boxing and Green Bay Packer football. Survivors include his wife Veronica of Appleton; a son: William (Mary) Timmers of Winneconne; three daughters: Carol (Harold) Gilbertson of Appleton; Romayne (Donald) Sieb of Cross Plains; Marlene (Walter) Theyerl of Elkhart Lake; twelve grandchildren: Cynthia Bogard, Sandra Coolidge, William Bogard, Robert Bogard, Tistan Sieb, Terra Durand, Ted Thayerl, Tracy Theyerl, Elizabeth Haltinner, Kristen Jansen, William Timmers, and Steven Timmers; seven step-grandchildren: 13 great grandchildren; 3 step great grandchildren; a brother: Nicholas (Velma) Timmers of Spokane, Washington; three sisters: Rosella Weyers of Neenah; Dorothy Siebers of Little Chute; Gertrude Hietpas of Kaukauna; a sister-in-law: Dorothy Timmers of Kaukauna; a special nephew: Msgr. John Schuh and a caring niece, Evelyn Guckenberg of Neenah. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; brother: Theodore (Elizabeth) Timmers and Richard Timmers; sisters: Ella (John) Bast and Mabel (Alvin) Lemke; and by brothers-in-law: John Hietpas, Henry Weyers and Marvin Siebers. Bill was preceded in death by Veronica's brothers and sisters: Anthony (Helen) Obarska, Othelia (John) Schuh, Rose (Henry) Janssen, Charlotte (Rudy) Haase, and Hildegard (Norbert) Lucassen. The funeral liturgy for Bill will be held at 11 :00 a.m. on Saturday, December 4, 1999 at HOLY NAME OF JESUS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 600 E. Kimberly Avenue with Msgr. John Schuh officiating.     Bill will be remembered as a gentle, loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather and brother. All who knew him will miss him dearly.

    "Phronie"
    Formerly of Kimberly, passed away Sunday, September 17, 2000 at a local nursing home at the age of 97. She was born December 30, 1902 in Niagara, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Alexander and Theresa (Brouchek) Obarska. Veronica married William Timmers in Kaukauna on July 1, 1930, • and he preceded her in death on December 2, 1999 after sixty-nine years of marriage. She now joins Bill's side in death as she did in life. Bill and Phroriie lived in Kaukauna and Kimberly all of their lives. Phronie will be
    remembered for her delicious home-made bread, pies, and cookies. She was truly a great homemaker. Veronica loved to crochet afghans, make crafts, sew quilts, play cards, fish, and help others. She enjoyed watching baseball, football, and especially wrestling. Her times spent with grandchildren and great-grandchildren were special. Veronica was a member of Holy Name church for seventy years, and was also active in the Mission Ladies and the Christian Mothers. She is survived by three daughters: Carol (Harold) Gilbertson of Appleton; Romayne Sieb of Cross Plains; Marlene (Walter) Theyerl of Elkhart Lake; a son: William (Mary) Timmers of Winneconne; twelve grandchildren; Bill (Gina) Bogard, Bob Bogard, Sandy Bogard, and Dr. Cynthia (Mike Strebe) Bogard, Tristan (Lisa) Sieb, Terra (Kemper) Durand, Ted (Denise) Theyerl, Tracy Theyerl, Betsy (Urs) Haltinner, Kris (Roger) Jansen, William (Paula) Timmers, Steven (Jolene) Timmers; eighteen great-grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by sisters-in-law: Rosella Weyers, Gertrude Hietpas, Dorothy Timmers, and Dorothy Siebers, Velma Timmers, and a brother-in-law Nicholas Timmers, and many nieces and nephews, her special niece Evelyn Guckenberg, and a special nephew
