    Mrs. J. Van Beek Concelebrated Mass Wednesday

    A concelebrated Mass for Mrs. John M. [Elizabeth 'Betty' Vanden Heuvel] Van Beek, 63, will be at 12 noon Wednesday at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, Kimberly. The Mass will be concelebrated by Father David Pleier, a nephew of the deceased, and the Rev. Msgr. Carl Steiner. Mrs. Van Beek, of 416 S. James St., Kimberly, died suddendly Sunday morning, April 25, 1982 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Appleton. She was 63. She was born December 1, 1918 in Little Chute, and had lived in the Kimberly area all of her life. She had been employed at St. Lawrence University, Appleton, until her retirement on April 2, 1982. Mrs. Van Beek was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church, Kimberly.

    Survivors include her husband, John M. Van Beek; one daughter and son in-law, Sandra and Jerome Lamers of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two sons and one daughter in-law, George and Laurie Van Beek, and Michael Van Beek, all of Kimberly; her father, George Vanden Heuvel of Little Chute; three sisters, Mrs. John [Jane] Christensen of Neenah; Mrs. Norb [Ruth] De Coster of Little Chute, and Mrs. Eugene [Virginia] Welhouse of Kaukauna; and seven grandchildren.

    She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Kathryn Vanden Heuvel. Friends may call at the Jansen Fargo Funeral Home, Kimberly from 4 until 9 p.m. today [Tuesday] and after 8 a.m. Wednesday until the time of service. There will be a prayer service at 8 p.m. today. Interment will take place in Holy Name Cemetery.

    John Van Beek Dead At 76; Rites Wed. At Holy Name Church

    John M. Van Beek of 238 S. Birch St., Kimberly, died Monday, September 4, 1995, after a short illness, he was 76. Born December 3, 1918, in Kimberly, he was the son of the late Marinus and Nellie [Williams] Van Beek. Mr. van Beek had worked for and retired from Kimberly-Clark Corportion. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II, an avid muskie fisherman, he also enjoyed bingo and watching high school sports. He was a lifetime member of Holy Name Catholic Church, William Verhagen American Legion Post No. 60 of Kimberly, Kimberly Clark Quarter Century Club and the Papermakers Booster Club.

    Survivors include his wife, Katie [De Leeuw] Van Beek; two sons and daughters in-law, George and Laurie, Mike and Cindy, all of Darboy; a stepson and daughter in-law, Mike and Pam Hoppe of Columbia City, Indiana; a daughter and son in-law, Sandi and Jerry lamers of Tulsa, Oklahoma; a stepdaughter and son in-law, Pat and Cliff Janssen of Little Chute; 17 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; three brothers and sisters in-law, Peter and Pat of Appleton, Marty and Sally of Kimberly, and Dick and Gloria of Marietta, Georgia; two sisters and a brother in-law, Frances Kerkoff of Santa Rosa, California, and Pauline and Ralph Pleier of Kimberly; and numerous nieces, nephews, others relatives and many dear friends and neighbors.

    He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty; a brother, Benjamin; and a sister, Mary Ann.The Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11:30 a.m. tomorrow, Thursday, at Holy Name Catholic Church, Kimberly, with the Rev. David Pleier officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Jansen-Fargo Funeral Home, 204 E. Kimberly Ave, Kimberly, frome 4-8 p.m. today, Wednesday, and after 10: a.m. on thursday at Holy Name Catholic Church until the time of mass. there will be a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. this evening. American Legion Post No. 60 of Kimberly rites of burial will be held Thursday immediately following the mass at church.

  • Note: Jane F. Christensen, 91, of Neenah, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at Theda Clark Medical Center with her children at her side. She was born December 22, 1922, in Little Chute, daughter of George and Catherine (Weyenberg) Vanden Heuvel. Jane's first husband, Robert Massonet, died in WWII. She was then united in marriage to John Christensen. Jane was a 40 year member of Theda Clark Medical Center's Auxiliary. She worked in the gift shop and knitted baby caps, sweaters and booties for newborns. Jane enjoyed bowling and golfing and was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Neenah.

    Jane is survived by her son, Robert (Debbie) Christensen; a daughter, Mary Christensen; sisters: Ruth DeCoster and Virginia Stuyvenberg; sister-in-law, Dorothy Fetters; brother-in-law, Walter (Rose) Christensen; and "my little kitty", Ginger.

    Jane was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; sister, Betty (John) VanBeek; brothers-in-law: Norb DeCoster, Gene Welhouse, Donald Stuyvenberg and Wayne Fetters; sisters-in-law: Florence (Chick) Oswall and Ruth (James) Wrase; and two precious cats: Muffyn and Krissy.

    Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 28, 2014, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 620 Division Street, Neenah, with Fr. Michael Ingold officiating. Interment will be in St. Margaret Cemetery, Neenah. Visitation will be at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Neenah Animal Shelter or The Salvation Army in Jane's name would be appreciated.

    The Christensen family would like to express a special thank you to the Theda Clark Medical Center Staff and ThedaCare Hospice for making their mom comfortable during her last days.

    Age 78, died Tuesday, October 29, 1996 at Vallhaven Care Center. He was born on May 30, 1918 in Neenah, son of Christ and Frances [Simon] Christensen. John married Jane Vanden Heuveo on November 12, 1947 in Little Chute. John co-owned and operated Christensen Paint & Hardware Company Inc. with his brother, Wally. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Menasha and was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran of World War II.
    He is survived by his wife, Jane; a daughter, Mary Christensen, Neenah; a son and daughter in-law, Robert and Debbie Christensen, Barrington, Illinois; a brother and sister in-law, Walter and Rose Christensen, Neenah; three sisters and two brothers in-law, Dorothy Fetters, Weyauwega; Florence and Edward Oswald, Madison; Ruth and Jim Wrase, Menasha; and his companion cats; Krissy and Muffyn.
    John was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Jimmy; and a brother in-law, Wayne Fetters.
    Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 2, 1996 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Menasha. Interment will be in St. Margaret Cemetery, Neenah. Friends may call at the church from 9:30 a.m. Saturday until the time of the services. A memorial has been established for the Neenah-Menasha VNA. The Kessler Funeral Home is assisting the family.

  • Note: Peter "Pete" A. Meulemans, 63, Wrightstown, passed away suddenly at his home on Sunday, July 3, 2011. Pete was born on January 3, 1948, to Adrian and Evelyn (Coenen) Meulemans in Wrightstown. He grew up in a farming family and continued to do what he loved most, farming, until he died still on the family farm where he was born and raised. Besides farming, Pete was an avid sports fan. He was a big Packers, Brewers and Badgers fan, but he always had a special place for the Colts because he was such a Johnny Unitas fan. He was a Wrightstown Tigers fan when his children participated in sports, especially wrestling.

    Pete is survived by his wife of 37 years, Linn (DeCoster) Meulemans; sons: Jason, Gastonia, NC, Jody (Sara) and their children, Chloe, Grant, Ella, and Saylor of Freedom; Jeremy (Kacy) and their children: Skyler, Jordan and Paityn of De Pere; Janelle (Nathan Sprangers) and soon to be grandchild, Wrightstown; Joel (Stephanie) and soon to be grandchild, Greenville; and Jill, Wrightstown. Also surviving is one brother, Dale (Dolly) Meulemans, and three sisters and brothers-in-law: Nancy (Russ) Titel, Sandy (Lloyd) Gehring and Sherry (Ron Demske). Linn's family: mother and father-in-law, Norbert and Ruth DeCoster, Little Chute, and brother, Jim (Lyn) DeCoster, Black Creek; and also many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Adrian and Evelyn Meulemans; a brother, Bruce; an infant sister, Charlotte; and a brother-in-law, Bob Schmelter.

    Family and friends may call Thursday, July 7, 2011, from 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at St. Clare Parish-St. Paul site, Wrightstown. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 6:00 p.m. Thursday at church, with Fr. Carl Meulemans officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
