She was born March 28, 1954, daughter of the late John Peters and Janet Kieffer Peters of Kaukauna. On April 18, 1975, Donna married Ron Rosin in Oneida; he survives. For over twenty-eight years, Donna was employed as a baker’s assistant at Rich’s Bakery in Appleton.

    Survivors include her husband: Ron Rosin of Appleton; two children: Brian Rosin of Appleton and his special friend Leighle’ Donohue and Becky Rosin of Green Bay and her special friend Luke Gerrits; her mother: Janet Peters Van Handel; four sisters: Sharon (Phil) Keener, Diane (Lawrence) Regis, Shirley (Don) Conrad, Darlene (Jeff) Vanden Boogart; a brother: Ken Peters and his special friend Dar Rickert; her step-brothers and step-sisters: Mike (Marge) Bartelt, Jean (Bob) Hruska, Joyce (Bob) Luckow, Paul Van Handel, Fred (Marilyn) Van Handel, and Luke (Ellen) Van Handel.

    Donna is also survived by Ron’s mother: Cordell Hurst and her special friend Leo Micke; her sisters-in-law: Sue (Marty) Becker, Shirley (Tom) Havel, Lori (Bob) Gossen, Luann Rosin and her special friend Tom Calmes, Mary Ambrose and her special friend Jim Seefeldt; brothers-in-law: Bob (Mary Kay) Rosin, Jim (Pam) Rosin, Harry (Vicky) Rosin, Carl (Sandy) Rosin, Alan Rosin, and Dennis Rosin. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Donna was preceded in death by her father John Peters, her step-father Matt Van Handel, her fathers-in-law Harold Rosin and Floyd Hurst.

    The funeral liturgy for Donna will be held at 4:00 PM on Thursday, September 11, 2003 at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer Street in Kaukauna with Fr. Jim Lucas officiating. Friends may call directly at the church on Thursday from 2:00 PM until the time of the service.

  • Note: Ronald A. Rosin, age 65, of Appleton, passed away at Cherry Meadows Hospice, Appleton, on Monday, July 11, 2016. Ron was born on May 30, 1951, in Appleton, to the late Harold and Cordell (Hurst) Rosin. He married Donna Jean Peters on April 18, 1975 in Oneida; she preceded him in death in 2003.

    Following his graduation from Kaukauna High School, Ron was employed at Elm Tree Bakery (later Rich's Bakery). Following the closure of Rich's, he was a truck driver and then was employed at Thilmany Paper Company until his retirement. Ron attended Holy Cross Catholic Church and school and later became a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Appleton. His fondest memories of St. B's were the church picnics. He truly enjoyed the rides and games with his entire family. Ron served as president of Catholic Financial for 26 years. He felt honored to sit next to Cardinal Timothy Dolan at a District Meeting in Milwaukee.

    Survivors include his daughter, Becky Rosin of Suamico; his sisters and brothers, Sue (Marty) Becker, Robert (Mary Kay) Rosin, James (Pam) Rosin, Shirley (Tom) Havel, Harold (Vicki) Rosin, Carl (Sandi) Rosin, Lori (Bob) Gossen, Luann (Tom) Calmes, Alan Rosin, Mary Ambrose and Dennis Rosin; his grandchildren, Austin Toyra, Peyton and Aryanah Rosin. He is further survived by many other family members and friends.

    The Funeral Liturgy will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 15, 2016, at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer Street, Kaukauna, with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating. Friends may call at the Fargo Funeral Home, 400 W. Wisconsin Avenue, Kaukauna, on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and again directly at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. On September 6, 1948, he was united in marriage to Lorna J. Kempen at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Wrightstown. Bill was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during WWII. He and Lorna farmed in the area their entire married life. Bill was a member of the Barbershoppers chorus for 27 years. Together, Bill and Lorna enjoyed square dancing, polka music, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends. Their last twelve winters were spent in Florida.

    He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lorna; 12 children: Mary (Vande Hey) and her husband, Don Clousing, Bob Van Handel, Joan (Jeff) Lamers, Ron (Jackie) Van Handel, Dan (Cathy) Van Handel, Dave Van Handel, Steve (Kris) Van Handel, Larry (Nancy) Van Handel, Julie (Charlie) Gross, Dennis (Tina) Van Handel, Don (Sandi) Van Handel, and Laurie (Terry) Leitzke; 28 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren: Andy (Tiffany) Vande Hey and their children: Quinn and Zane, Mike Van Handel, Nicole (Andrew) Selbo, Katelyn Van Handel, Tiffany, Crystal, Becca and Josh Lamers, Jeremy (Lisa) Van Handel and their children: Jaden and Kaily, Jonathon, Jordan and Ashley Van Handel, Zack, Jacob and Kaylee Van Handel, Tara and Luke Van Handel, Patrick and Megan Van Handel, Caleb and Josh Gross, Ryan and Rachel Van Handel, Erin and Brienne Van Handel, Tyler, Keri and her son, Elijah, and Willie Leitzke; 5 brothers and sisters: Agnes Smudde, Rich (Grace) Van Handel, Ursula (Clarence) Vanden Heuvel, Audrey Van Camp, and Ervin (Ruth) Van Handel.     He was preceded in death by his parents, a son-in-law, Marvin Vande Hey, a grandson, Jonathon Leitzke, 5 brothers and sisters: Catherine, Marie, Mathias, Irene, and Arthur; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Bonnie, Fabian, Marian, Janet, Urban, Jerome, Reuben, George, and Bernice and Marvin, Paul, and Richard Kempen.

    The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 9, 2010, at ST. BERNADETTE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2331 E. Lourdes Dr., Appleton, with Fr. Donald Zuleger officiating. Friends will be received on Friday, October 8, 2010, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at BOETTCHER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 2401 Fieldcrest Dr., Kaukauna, and again directly at church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Bill's name is being established. Burial will take place in Holy Name of Jesus Cemetery in Kimberly.

    Stoffel, Irene C. Irene C. Stoffel, of Appleton, age 85, died Wednesday, July 26th, 2006, at Theda Clark Regional Medical Center. Irene was born May 9, 1921, in Little Chute to the late Fred and Anna (Schumacher) Van Handel. On June 17, 1948, she married George Stoffel at St. John Catholic Church in Little Chute. The couple enjoyed over 52 years together until his death in 2001. Other than helping out on the family farm, Irene worked in the kitchen and helped clean at the Silver Dome in Greenville, and also at Biggar's Hotel in Appleton. Irene loved to travel and shop.

    She was very active at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Appleton for many years where she belonged to the Christian Mothers. Most recently she was a member at St. Pius Catholic Church, where she belonged to the Marian Rosary Group.

    Irene will be sadly missed by her son, Dennis (Sheri) Stoffel, of Windsor, CA; four daughters: Yvonne (Gunter) Manning, of Neenah; Sandy (Peter III) Kooiman, Appleton; Debbie (Vern) Sumnicht, Appleton; and Lori (Innocent) Altraide, of Appleton; 12 grandchildren: Christopher and Tiffany Stoffel, Windsor, CA; Peter, Andy, Sarah, Amy, and Anna Kooiman; Michaela and Joshua Sumnicht; Nathan, Brianna, and Dylan VanDerLoop, all of Appleton; her great-granddaughter, Ashlee Beckett; four brothers: Arthur Van Handel, of Appleton; Bill (Lorna) Van Handel, Darboy; Richard (Grace) Van Handel, Kaukauna; and Erv (Ruth) Van Handel, Glendale, WI; three sisters: Agnes Smudde, Freedom; Ursula (Clarence) Vanden Heuvel, Little Chute; and Audrey VanCamp, of De Pere; a brother-in-law, Jerome Van Lanen, Little Chute; six sisters-in-law: Janet Van Handel, Kaukauna; Lorraine Blazek, Appleton; Mary Neuman, Greenville; Agnes Van Heuklon, Appleton; Julie Vissers, Appleton; and Sally Schcroth, Appleton. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.

    She was preceded in death by her husband George, her parents, a brother Matt Van Handel, two sisters: Catherine Van Lanen and Marie Dombrowski.

    The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 31st, at St. Pius Catholic Church, 500 W. Marquette St., Appleton, with the Rev. Thomas Farrell officiating. Friends may call on Sunday, July 30th from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Brettschneider-Trettin-Lederer Funeral Chapel, and directly at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Parish Prayer Service 5:30 p.m. at the funeral chapel on Sunday. Entombment will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund has been established.

    Elder Dobrinska "Butch" 204 W. 8th St., Kaukauna, age 82, died Wednesday, February 3, 1993 at Franciscan Care Center after a long battle with cancer. He was born June 16, 1910 in Menasha the son of the late John and Hattie [Pankratz] Dobrinska. He married the former Minnie Verhasselt on September 26, 1939 in Phlox, Wisconsin. She preceded him in death on October 2, 1979. Butch, a long time employee of Wisconsin Electric Power, retired in 1975. He was an active member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Kaukauna.
    He is survived by his wife, Marie [VanLanen] Dobrinska, Kaukauna; six children; Janet Pearsen, Green Bay; William and Vicki Dobrinska, Shiocton; Mary Selig, Appleton; Ronad and Barbara Dobrinska, De Pere; Carolyn and Jim Biese, Kaukauna; Gene and Karen Van Lanen, Honover, Pennsylvania; thirteen grandchildren: Pete, Debra, Tim and Tammi Pearsen; Tammi and Ben Dobrinska; Cassandra and Michael Selig; Toby and Jackie Dobrinska; Ben Biese; Jeff and Lori VanLanen; five great grandchildren: Tasha and Timothy Pearsen; Jordan and Kiley Romenesko; and Jennifer Quella; two brothers and two sisters in-law; Floyd and June Dobrinska, Tigerton; Richard Dobrinska, Phlox; Marge Dobrinska, Phlox; a sister; Marie Stevens, Chicago; and nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Dobrinska. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Kaukauna with Father Ron Lhotte officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Appleton. Friends may call at the Fargo Funeral Home, 400 W. Wisconsin Ave., Kaukauna from 4 to 9 p.m. on Friday and after 8:30 a.m. Saturday until the cortege leaves for the church. There will be a parish prayer service at 8 p.m. Friday evening.     Mrs. Donald L. Vander Zanden Dolores C. Vanden Boom W2810 Oakridge Dr. Darboy

    Age 68, died unexpectgedly, on Thursday afternoon, December 16, 1999, at Appleton Medical Center. She was born December 27, 1930, to the late Walter and Isabella [Jansen] Vanden Boom in Appleton and had been an area resident all of her life. Dolores was united in marriage to Donald L. Vander Zanden on July 31, 1952, and he preceded her in death on September 9, 1980. Mom loved and was loved many. She enjoyed being a wife and mother and spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing cards and bingo. Dolores was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church.

    She is survived by her six children and their spouses; Donna and Donald Stratton Jr., Appleton; David and Cynthia Vander Zanden, Darboy; Barbara and John Kelderman, Kaukauna; Lynn and Mark Van Zeeland, Appleton; Randy and Basia Vander Zanden, St. Charles, Minnesota; Patti and Steve Canan, Freedom; 16 grandchildren; Ryan, Amber and Reed Stratton; Nick, Becky, Mike and Kelly Vander Zanden; Jamie and Jessica Kelderman; Holly and Heather Van Zeeland; Lyndon, Natalia and Krystijon Vander Zanden; Kristin and Kari Canan; a brother and sister in-law; Paul and Lou Vanden Boom; Betty Allen, Brookfield, Wisconsin; Rose and Chuck Keller, Darboy; a sister in-law; Darlene and Bill Van Grinsven, Kimberly; and a special friend; Irene [Harvey] Van Deraa, Kimberly.

    The funeral liturgy will be 11 a.m. Saturday, December 18, 1999 [today] at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 600 E. Kimberly Ave., Kimberly, with Father Dennis Bergbaken officiating.
