    (Andy)

    A lifelong resident of Appleton, Andrew "Andy" Liethen, age 73, died January 19, 1978 at Americana Healthcare Center following a long illness. He was a member of Sacred Heart Parish. Mr. Liethen was a past member of the Appleton Yacht Club, and one of Appleton's earliest private pilots, having earned his pilot's license in the mid 1930's. Mr. Liethen, who retired in 1969 as president of the Liethen Corporation, is survived by his wife, "Bobbie"; a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Carol) McIntyre and three grandchildren, Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin; a sister, Marie; two brothers: Robert and Henry; and 16 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Rose, and two brothers: Alois and Frank. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Church, with the Rev. Wilbert Staudenmaier officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wichmann Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, January 20, and after 8 a.m. Saturday. There will be a prayer service at 8 p.m. Friday. A memorial fund to the Wisconsin Heart Association is being established.

    Mrs. Henry Gartmann (Frances La Luzerne) of 1602 Florence St., Kaukauna, age 68, died Thurs., Sept. 10, 1992, at St. Elizabeth Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born June 13, 1924, in the Town of Union, Door County, the daughter of the late Jules J. and Mary Ellen "Molly" (McDermott) La Luzerne.
    Frances married Henry E. Gartmann in 1947 and lived in the Kaukauna area for many years. She loved to travel, enjoyed people and always took time to "smell the roses."
    Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law; a sister-in-law; and two brothers-in-law. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry in 1975; beloved sons, Ervin in 1968 and Douglas in 1976; three sisters, Ellen, Cecelia and Kathleen; and a brother, Hubert.
    The funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Sat. at Fargo Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Vandenberg officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Appleton.
    Fargo Funeral Home, Kaukauna, assisted the family with arrangements.

    A young Kaukauna man died Mon. of a self-inflicted gunshot wound suffered last Thurs.
    The victim was Ervin W. Gartman, 20, 1602 Florence St., who according to authorities, shot himself in the chest with a .22 caliber rifle. The incident was investigated by Outagamie County Coroner Bernhard Kemps and Kaukauna police.
    Gartman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Gartman was given a medical discharge from the Army last month. The body was released to the Fargo Funeral Home.

    Age 20, passed away at Kaukauna Community Hospital Mon. He was born Oct. 19, 1947 in Appleton, he lived in Kaukauna the past 17 years and attended Kaukauna High School and graduated in 1965. He was employed at Kimberly Clark Corp. in Kimberly before entering the service in May of 1967. He returned home on Wed., Mar. 27 after receiving a medical discharge from the service. Ervin is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Gartman, three brothers, all at home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thurs. at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Kaukauna with Rev. John W. Mattek, officiating. Friends may call at Fargo Funeral Home from 3 p.m. on Wed. and until noon on Thurs. and after 1 p.m. at the church.

    Age 25, died early Saturday morning at Kaukauna Community Hospital as the result of an auto accident. He was born March 2, 1953 at Green Bay, the son of Norman and Marcella (Jensen) Sengbusch. He graduated from Kaukauna High School in 1971. He is survived by his parents; two brothers: Wayne and Scott, both at home; two sisters: Mrs. LeRoy (Cheryl) Johnson, Appleton, and Mrs. Benjie (Wendy) Terrell, Fort Meyers, Va.; one niece, Amy Johnson; and one nephew, Benjamin Johnson. He was preceded in death by one brother, Norman Jerome Sengbusch Jr. Friends may call at the Knutson Funeral Home, 137 E. Main St., Denmark, after 4 p.m. today. The funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Immanuel United Church of Christ at Kaukauna, with Pastor Harvey Kandler officiating. Burial will be in East Cooperstown Cemetery.

    Late of Dolton, formerly of West De Pere, Wisconsin. Devoted mother of Susan M., Howard, the late Leo M. (Terry King Watkins), Norbert, and baby boy Wojtczak; grandmother of four; great-grandmother of one; and loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.

    Predeceased by her parents William and Helen (Miller) Brooks of Green Bay, Wisconsin, and her five brothers and four sisters-in-law: Robert (Luella), Norbert (Ruth), Jerome (Marilyn), Howard (Shirley), and Gerald "Pete" Brooks.
