    Mrs. Josefa (Josephine) Hable, 78, of 1137 W. Seventh Ave., died Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at Winnebago County Hospital. She had been in failing health three years. She was born in Ausria on April 16, 1884, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Sonnleitner, and came to Oshkosh as a child. She was married at St. Vincent Catholic Church on Aug. 11, 1903, to Peter Hable. He preceded her in death.

    Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Agnes Luck, Oshkosh, and Mrs. Rose Handy, Neenah; five sons, Frank, Alfred, Walter, Herbert and Lawrence Hable, Oshkosh; two brothers, John and Frank Sonnleitner, Oshkosh; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Harrand, in Michigan, and Mrs. Amelia Jungbauer, Milwaukee; 18 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were two brothers, Joseph and Carl, and two sisters, Mrs. Justina Tomasko and Mrs. Ottillia Schreiner.

    Services will be held Friday at 8:30 a.m. at Poklasny Funeral Home and 9 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with the Rev. David S. Bunkleman officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

    Peter Hable, 81, of 1429 Seventh St., died today at 7:20 a.m. at Mercy Hospital, following an illness of one year. He was born June 28, 1876, in Austria, and came to this country and to Oshkosh in 1891. He was married here to Miss Josephina Sonnleitner on Aug. 11, 1903. Mr. Hable had been employed by Radford Company until his retirement in 1946. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Catholic Order of Foresters.

    Surviving are his wife Josepha; two daughters, Mrs. Agnes Luck, Oshkosh, and Mrs. Rose Handy, Neenah; five sons, Frank, Alfred, Walter, Herbert and Lawrence Hable, Oshkosh; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

    Services will be held Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. at Sitter Funeral Home and 9 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with the David S. Bunkleman officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

    Mrs. Joseph Zinsli Dies at Chippewa Falls

    CHIPPEWA FALLS - Mrs. Joseph Zinsli, Sr., 80, died Monday evening at her home at 1522 Eagle St., in Chippewa Falls.

    Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran church, the Rev. B. H. Schrien officiating. Burial will be at the Forest Hill cemetery.

    Mrs. Zinsli was born Louise Nowak in Vienna, Austria, and came to this country as a young girl, settling in Chippewa Falls. She was married in 1890. Except for 12 years at Lake Nebagamon she lived the rest of her life in Chippewa Falls. She was active in the Zion church and in the Ladies Aid.

    She is survived by seven daughters, Mrs. Clarence Larson, Mrs. Henry Schmidtmayer, Mrs. Emie Naset, Mrs. Herbert Kalow, Helen and Ruth of Chippewa Falls and Mrs. Lief Larson of Thorp; one son, Joseph of Chippewa Falls; one sister, Mrs. Agnes Sonnleitner of Appleton; five brothers, Joseph Nowak of Chippewa Falls, Frank, John and Rudolph of Appleton and Louis of Milwaukee; 14 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

  • Note: Joseph Zinsli, a well known and highly respected resident of Chippewa Falls for over fifty years passed away at 4:30 o'clock this morning at St. Joseph's hospital following a brief illness. Mr. Zinsli was born December 8, 1864, in Spliegen, Switzerland, and he came to the United States in the spring of 1883 and settled in Chippewa Falls. Forty-six years ago in May he was united in marriage to Louise Nowak in this city. He was employed by the Weyerhauser Lumber Co. at Lake Nebagamon until 1900, when he started in business for himself, having lumber camps in northern Wisconsin and Minnesota. In 1916 Mr. Zinsli retired from business and returned to this city, his residence being at 1522 Eagle street. He is survived by his wife and son, Joseph Jr. and seven daughters, Mrs. Ted Larson, Mrs. Waldemar Naset, Mrs. Herbert Kalow, Helen and Ruth of this city, Mrs. Henry Schmidtmayer of Milwaukee, and Mrs. Lief Larson of Thorp. Also surviving are thirteen grandchildren. The remains will be taken to the residence from the Hogseth Funeral Parlors Saturday afternoon, where they will lie in state until the funeral. Services will be held Monday at the Zion Lutheran church, the time to be announced later. Interment will take place in Forest Hill cemetery.

  • Note: Lillian Nowak, 100, Green Bay resident, died Tuesday June 5, 2012 at her home. She was born September 24, 1911 in Green Bay to the late Walter and Rose (Dombrowski) Jagodzinski. Lillian married Alfred Nowak on November 6, 1935 at St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church. He preceded her in death March 6, 1983. In Lillian's earlier years she was employed at Kraft Foods. She was also employed as a crossing guard for the city for many years. Lillian was a longtime member of St. Mary of the Angels Parish as well as their St. Elizabeth Altar Society and was a faithful patron of the Perpetual Adoration Chapel at SS Peter & Paul Church. She enjoyed traveling the country and the world. Lillian had a talent for crocheting and shared her works with charities, family and friends. She couldn't resist a game of Bingo or a card game. Lillian was devoted to her faith and was immensely proud of her family, especially her grandchildren.

    She is survived by her three children: Cindy and Jim Collard, Green Bay; Gilbert and Patt Nowak, Sobieski; Nancy and Michael Hagerty, Green Bay; nine grandchildren: Cristin (Brian) Bowe; Jason (Tami) Collard; Jennifer (Brent) Miller; Jill (Greg) Gill Jr.; Anne (James) Cowart; Amanda (Joel) Mikulsky; Ian Hagerty; Patrick Hagerty and Maura (Mike) Schwandt; she was also the "Incredible Grandma Lily" to sixteen great grandchildren.
    Funeral Mass 12:00 noon Saturday with Fr. Patrick Gawrylewski OFM officiating. Entombment in the Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
