    Joey is preceded in death by his father, Donald Verbruggen, and his beloved grandmother, Irma VanStiphout.

    Joey is survived by his mother, Beverly, and his siblings; Joan (Albert) Allen, Julie Verbruggen, and James Verbruggen. He is also survived by his nephew, Marcus McFaul, with whom he was very close.

    A memorial service for Joey will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 8, 2016, at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, 537 N. Superior St., Appleton. There will be a time of visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Online Condolences may be made at www.wichmannfuneralhomes.com.

  • Note: Caroline M. Denis, 87, passed away on October 22, 2016 in Barrington, IL. Born on February 21, 1929, she is the daughter of the late Louis and Anna Tease. Caroline was raised in Green Bay and graduated from East High School. She married George A. Denis, Jr. on August 16, 1955, at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Green Bay. He preceded her in death in 1977.

    After their marriage, Caroline joined the Denis Sport Shop family business, where she worked until her retirement. She was an active member of the Altrusa Club of Green Bay, served as Club President from 1984-1986 and was dedicated to the building and operation of the Altrusa House of Green Bay. She was also an active volunteer at Heritage Hill State Historical Park. Caroline was an avid Packer fan, bowler, golfer and a world traveler. She enjoyed many adventures with her children, grandchildren and great-granddaughter.

    She is survived by her children, Susan (Ted) Plis of Barrington, IL, and George III (Chris) Denis of Woodruff, WI; four grandchildren, Thomas (Darlene) Plis, Ryan (Jaime) Plis, George Denis IV, and Daniel Denis; one great-grandchild, Kelsey Plis; sibling, Gerald (Betty) Tease and many nieces and nephews.

    Caroline was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Anna Tease; beloved husband, George A. Denis, Jr; siblings, Lucille Counard, Myrtle (Elmer) LeBeau, Clifford (Alice) Tease, Evelyn (Bert) Bersie, Delores (Curly) Aschenbrenner, Doris (Ray) Driessen, Ida Mae Tease, Cletus (Margie) Tease, Ralph (Catherine) Tease, Janet (Roman) Brunner, and Louis Tease, Jr.; brothers-in-law, Arthur (Betty) Denis and Francis (Marian) Denis.

    Visitation at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, 130 St. Matthew St., Green Bay, Friday, November 11, from 9 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. Entombment at Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.

    In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations to be directed in Caroline's name to the Altrusa House of Green Bay, 1116 E. Mason St., Green Bay, WI 54301.

    The family would like to extend a special thank you to Caroline's friends and the staff of The Garlands of Barrington, IL, as well as the dedicated caregivers of Prairieview at the Garlands.
