    MARY WETTSTEIN

On Wednesday afternoon at three o'clock, at her home in South Stockbridge, Mrs. Stephen Wettstein passed away after an illness of eight months duration. In March last her health was in such a condition that she was taken to St. Joseph's hospital, Milwaukee, where she underwent a surgical operation the relief from which was only temporary. She returned home and for a time seemed to improve until Monday when she had a change for the worse and sank rapidly until death relived her of her suffering.

Mary Mauer was born in Marytown, Fond du Lac County, Aug. 5, 1850, her parents being the late Mr. and Mrs. John Mauer. In 1868 she was married to Joseph See and they settled on a farm south of Charlesburg in the town of Brothertown where her husband died Nov. 15, 1870. The following year she was married to Stephen Wettstein of South Stockbridge, which town has since been their home. She was one of the respected citizens of the neighborhood in which she lived for nearly half a century. She was hard working, accommodating and neighborly, qualities that made her many friends.

The funeral will take place in this Saturday, from St. Elizabeth's church at Kloten of which she has been a devout member since settling in that community. Rev. Fr. J. H. Huhn will celebrate Requiem Mass and interment will be made in St. Elizabeth's cemetery.

The deceased is survived by a husband, four sons, John See of Kloten, Edward of South Stockbridge, Jos. Wettstein of Charlesburg and Anton Wettstien of Brothertown and two daughters, Mrs. Roy Merical of Wausau, Mrs. Lambert Daun of North Stockbridge. She also leaves four brothers, Math and Peter Mauer of Marytown, Michael and Anton Mauer of Stacyville, Iowa, and a sister, Mrs. John Wagner of St. Cloud.
