James D Reynen

M, b. March 4, 1945, d. May 17, 2016

Family: Sally A Thomsen (b. April 18, 1945, d. May 28, 2015)

Biography

  • Birth: James D Reynen was born on March 4, 1945 in New Franken, Brown Co, Wisconsin.
  • Death: He died on May 17, 2016, at age 71.
  • Burial: He was buried in Nicolet Memorial Gardens, Green Bay, Wisconsin.
  • Note: James D. Reynen, 71, Crivitz, formerly of Green Bay, died unexpectedly, Tuesday, May 17 2016, at his home. He was born March 4, 1945, in New Franken to Bernice (Mallien Reynen) Johnson and the late Francis Reynen. Jim attended Preble High School graduating in 1963. He enjoyed being outside while living on the family's hobby farm. Jim was employed by Procter and Gamble for 30 years and was fortunate to retire at the age of 50. His true dream was to retire and move up to the cottage. He spent many days fishing on the flowages in his boat or his "ice shack condo". His best days were spent in the "office" fishing. Jim was the envy of the other fisherman on the flowage. He supplied the family celebrations with enough fish to feed the neighborhood. If Jim wasn't on the flowage, he was at an auction with his "beer drinking buddies". Jim enjoyed his frequent trips to visit family and play cards with his 100 year old mother. It was always a goal to win the most quarters from each other. He was very creative and kept busy with other people's projects. Jim could fix what was broken and did it with a laugh, a smile and a beer. "That jobs done!" He cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren. Jim taught them the art of fishing, turtle hunting and the memorable "whisker rubs". He was very proud of all their accomplishments in school and in life.

He is survived by two daughters, Lori and Mark Jacobs, Luxemburg and Jean and Ken Van Den Elzen, Denmark; four grandchildren: Cassi and Sammie Jacobs and Taylor and Alexandra Van Den Elzen; his mother, Bernice Johnson, Green Bay; two brothers, Roger (Gloria) Reynen, Twin Bridge and Ron (Norma) Reynen, Green Bay; one sister, Karen Tilque, Howard; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by Sally Reynen and his brother-in-law, Lee Tilque.

Friends may call at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 2040 Hillside Lane after 9:00 am Saturday, May 21, 2016, until time of Mass. Funeral Mass 11:00 am Saturday, at the church, with Rev. Mark VanderSteeg officiating. Burial in the Nicolet Memorial Gardens. On-line condolences may be sent to the Reynen family at www.prokowall.com. In lieu of floral expressions a memorial fund has been established in his name.
Published in Green Bay Press-Gazette from May 19 to May 21, 2016.
