    Survivors include: husband Lawrence Stevens of Waupaca WI, daughter Deborah Campshure (Len) of Wild Rose WI, daughter Barbara (Jim) Stotzheim of Pine River WI, son Alan (Krystal) Stevens of Scandinavia WI, son David Stevens (Kristie) of Las Vegas NV, son Robert Stevens of Hortonville WI, 3 sisters, 1 brother, 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

    It really brought Elaine joy to spend time with family, especially outside at the cottage on nice summer days. She is well known for doing her beautiful needle work, great meals, and regular weekend attendance at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Waupaca WI. Elaine and Larry enjoyed a good 60 years of marriage, involving many winter months spent enjoying themselves in Mexico together.

    There will be a Visitation from 10-11 am, and a Memorial Service at 11 am, at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca WI on Wednesday, February 7, 2018. Fr. Amalraj Roche will be officiating.

She was further preceded in death by her husband, Frank J. Dombrowski Jr.; infant brother, Paul Schmit; sons-in-law: Doug Kronberg, Ed Miller; brothers-in-law: Marty Schumacher, Earl Hoffman, Jerry Sobieczyk.

    The funeral service for Marilyn will be 11:00 AM, Thursday December 7, 2017 at SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH, Appleton, WI, with Fr. Jon Thorsen officiating. Visitations will be 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Valley Funeral Home, Wednesday, December 6, 2017, and Thursday morning, at the church, 10:00 AM until time of service.

  • Note: Frank J. Dombrowski Jr., 72, died Friday, Oct. 1, 2010, at Theda Clark Medical Center after a short illness. Frank was born July 9, 1938, in Neenah, to the late "Chip" and Alma (Rasmussen) Dombrowski Sr. On Oct. 11, 1958, he was united in marriage to Marilyn Schmit at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Appleton. He worked for 44 years at George Banta, retiring in 2000.

    He enjoyed stock car racing for many years in car number X100, acquiring many trophies along the way. He loved fishing, going to the casino, and his annual trips to Las Vegas and Florida.

    He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Marilyn, Appleton; five daughters, Kathy Kronberg, Appleton; Karen (Mark) Hoelzel, Neenah; Kris Miller, Menasha; Kelly (Pete) Bruehl, Greenville; and Lori (Mike) Tyvol, Appleton; two sons, Frank "Butch" (special friend Sheri) Dombrowski, Menasha; and Mike (fiance Sara) Dombrowski, Appleton; nine grandchildren, Andy (Natalie) Dombrowski, Jennifer Kronberg, Chris Kronberg, Jimmy Kronberg, Mark Hoelzel Jr., Dan Hoelzel, Jacob Tyvol, Megan Tyvol, and Haile Magritz; two great-grandchildren, Ayden Dombrowski and Lexi Dombrowski; his sister, Sandy (Jerry) Sobiesczyk, Appleton; four sisters-in-law, Shirley (Bruce) Stevens, Waupaca; Elaine (Larry) Stevens, Waupaca; Esther (Marty) Schumacher, New London; and Carol Hoffman, Appleton; brother-in-law, Steve (Jane) Schmit, Appleton. He was further survived by many nieces and nephews.

    Frank was preceded in death by two sons-in-law, Doug Kronberg and Ed Miller, and brother in law Earl Hoffman.

    The Funeral Liturgy for Frank will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 6, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 222 E. Fremont St., Appleton,7 with Father David Kelly officiating. Friends may visit from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 5, at the Brettschneider-Trettin-Lederer Funeral Chapel, and directly at the church Wednesday in the Sacred Heart Room from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Parish Prayer Service will be held 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.

    We have been together for over half a century. There have been some tough times, but also, many good ones. I will miss you and love you forever. You left us so fast we didn't even get to tell you goodbye - we love you.

  • Note: Martin J. Schumacher, age 73 passed away on Monday, May 13, 2013, at New London Family Medical Center surrounded by his loving family, following a short battle with cancer. Marty was born on March 7, 1940, in Appleton son of William and Delia (DeCoster) Schumacher. In October of 1989, he was united in marriage to Esther M. Schmit in Las Vegas. He appreciated a good day's work and was the sole proprietor of Hillside Salvage and Repair of New London and also worked for WE Energies as head mechanic; retiring in 2000. Marty loved riding his Harley and was a lifetime member of Harley Classic Riders and also the Wolf River Men's Club. He loved fishing, especially with his sons and spent many hours on the Mississippi and trips to Canada. Marty also loved hunting and spending time at Deer Camp with family and friends. He enjoyed traveling with Esther and friends, which included trips to Branson and Jamaica. He loved to socialize at Huckleberry Acres, Bean City, and Hunters and you could always find Marty in his shop with his dogs, Tuffy and Tiger. He was also a member of the Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, New London.

    Marty is survived by his wife Esther; his children: Willy (Laurie) Schumacher, Manawa; children, Jessica, Taylor, Jamie and Darcie; Jerry Schumacher (special friend, June Otto) Weyauwega; children, Jordan (Jess), Bryan (Melissa); Robert (Jackie) Schumacher, New London; children, Shawn, Lisa (Shane); Al (Mary) Schumacher, Weyauwega; children, Corey (friend Mindy), Brad and Melissa. His mother Delia, three sisters, Delores (Dan), Gottschalk, Lakewood; Carol (Mike) Glodowski, Woodlawn, VA; and Patti (William) Hutter, Ellsworth; Gayanne the mother of his sons, 17 great grandchildren and also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

    He is preceded in death by his father, a brother Al, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

    Funeral Mass for Marty will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, New London with Fr. Joseph Irudamoney officiating. Visitation will be held at the Cline & Hanson Funeral Home, New London on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. and also at the church Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

    A special party was planned for Sunday May 19th for Marty at Huckleberry Acres, which we still plan to have in his memory at 12 Noon.

    The family would like to thank his visiting Nurse Jenny, UW Madison, Dr. Kohl and staff and also Chaplin K.C. Schuler for all the care and concern you gave to Marty.

  • Note: Earl F. Hoffman Butch 61, Appleton, passed away Thursday, September 30, 2010 surrounded by his loving family at Cherry Meadows following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on Fathers Day, June 19, 1949 to the late John and Alice (Beschta) Hoffman in Appleton. Earl married Carol Schmit at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Appleton on June 21, 1969. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a cook in Fort Polk, LA. Earl was employed by Rich Products for over 30 years and then Hillshire Farm Sara Lee retiring in 2010. He loved traveling, woodworking, the Packers, playing cards and visiting with friends and family, especially his grandchildren.
    Earl is survived by his wife, Carol; daughters: Julie Zehren and Lisa (Isaac) Rades; grandchildren: Holly and Robbie Zehren and Jayla Rades; sister, Louise (Tom) Stephani. He is further survived by sisters-in-law: Shirley (Bruce) Stevens, Elaine (Larry) Stevens, Marilyn (Frank) Dombrowski and Esther (Marty) Schumacher; brother-in-law Steve (Jane) Schmit, many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

    A Mass of Celebration for Earl will be held at 11:30 am Monday, October 4, 2010 at St. Edward Catholic Church, Mackville with Rev. Tom Farrell officiating. Interment will follow the Mass in the Parish Cemetery with Military Honors. Friends may visit the family, Monday at church from 9:00 am until the time of Mass.

    The family would like to thank Fr. Mark and Fr. Tom and the many friends and family for all there prayers. Also to Dr. Ray and Dr. Mortara and their staffs and the first responders. The wonderful caring staff at Cherry Meadows who made difficult days bearable.
