    Little Chute-Peter Nieling, 60, died Thursday morning at his home here after a lingering illness. Surviving are his widow, three sons, Martin of Appleton and Albert and Alvin of Little Chute and two daughters, Mrs. Leo Geiger and Mrs. Leonard Jenkins, both of Neenah. Two sisters and one brother also survive. They are Mrs. Nellie Berghuis and Mrs. John Boots of Little Chute and Theodore Nieling of Tacoma, Wash. Funeral services will be conducted at 9 o'clock Saturday morning at St. John church by the Rev. John J. Sprangers. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

    Celebrated This Morning at St. Marry's Church in This City
    A large company assembled at St. Mary's church in this city at 9 o'clock this morning to witness the double wedding of the Misses Mary and Dora Meyer, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Meyer, of Grand Chute, old residents of the county. The contracting parties were Miss Mary Meyer, and George West of Kaukauna, and Miss Dora Meyer, and Peter Nieling of Little Chute.
    After the ceremony a wedding breadfast was served at the home of the bride's parents in Grand Chute, followed ba a reception which continues all day and this evening. The young people will make their homes at Kaukauna and Little Chute respectively. Amoung the guest at the reception were a mumber of Appleton friends.

    Leo B. Geiger

    Age 74, died Monday morning following a short illness. He was born January 12, 1904 in Colby, Wisconsin. Mr. Geiger had been employed by Meyer, Burstein and Sons, Neenah, for over 30 years prior to his retirement in 1957.

    Survivors include his wife, Mary E.; three sons, Leon, Monroe; Donald and Ronald, both of Neenah; a brother, Henry Geiger, Neenah; and six grandchildren.

    He was preceded in death by a son, Francis.

    The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Kessler Funeral Home, with the Rev. Michael O'Rourke officiating. Interment will be in St. Margaret Cemetery, Neenah. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-9 p.m. Tuesday.

  • Note: Donald M. Geiger, 72, Neenah, passed away peacefully December 30, 2013, at Cherry Meadows Hospice. He was born May 18, 1941, Neenah, son of Leo and Mary (Neiling) Geiger. Donald was united in marriage to Vicki Hinz on July 9, 1980. She preceded him in death on June 16, 1995. He was a train hobbyist who in his spare time also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Donald worked for the City of Neenah for 43 years, retiring in 2002.

    Donald is survived by two children: Amanda Heyn, Neenah; and Peter Geiger, Windsor, VA; a granddaughter: Lain; a brother: Ron (Brenda) Geiger, Mountain; a sister-in-law: June Monroe; and many other relatives and friends.

    Donald was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Lee and Francis Geiger.

    In accordance with Don's wishes, no services will be held. Interment will be in St. Margaret Cemetery, Neenah. A memorial has been established.

    Donald's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the staff at Cherry Meadows Hospice and Theda Clark Medical Center for all their care and compassion.

    Age 41, died Friday, June 16, 1995 at Parkview Health Care Center. She was born November 17, 1954 in Oshkosh, the daughter of John and Carol [Tritt] Hinz. She married Donald Geiger July 9, 1980 in Oshkosh. Vicki was a member of St Margaret Mary Catholic Church.

    Survivors include her husband, Donald, Neenah; a daughter, Amanda, and a son, Peter, both at home; her parents, John and Carol Hinz, Larson; two brothers, Michael [Lori] Hinz, Winneconne; Mark Hinz, Larson; a sister, Terri [Mark] McLaughlin, Winneconne; mother in-law, Mary E. Geiger, Menasha; grandmother, Hilda Tritt, Oshkosh; an aunt, Bev [Ed] Rehfeldt, Larsen.

    Marin W. Nieling 1609 N. Oneida St. Appleton

    Age 81, died as a result of a heart attack on Wednesday, August 2, 1989 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. He was born October 1, 1907 in Little Chute to Peter and Dora Nieling. He was employed at Appleton Papers for 30 years and was a member of their Quarter Century Club. Martin was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters and St. Therese Catholic Church for over 50 years.

    He is survived by his wife, Clara with whom he recently celebrated their 55th Wedding Anniversary; a daughter, Audrey Miller, Appleton; a son and daughter in-law; Ron and Mary Nieling, Kimberly; two brothers and sisters in-law; Albert and Ann Nieling, Crivitz; Alvin and Wilma Nieling, Appleton; two sisters; Mary Geiger, Neenah; Johanna Jenkins, Schofield; and five grandchildren.

    The complete funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 5, 1989 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Therese Catholic Church, Morrison, Wisconsin with Fr. Daniel C. Gilsdorf officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St., on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 8 a.m. until the cortege leaves for the church. Prayer and scripture service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday. A memorial fund is being established.
