    Emily stillborn daughter of Chadwick Wilcox and Ann Horowitz died September 22, 1993 at Appleton Medical Center.

    Besides her parents, she is survived by paternal grandparents, Roger and Kathy Wilcox, Kaukauna, maternal grandparents, Rueben and June Horowitz, Appleton; aunts, uncles, and a cousin.

    Graveside services were held today at 10 a.m. at Riverside Cemetery. The Brettschneider-Tretten-Lederer Funeral Chapel is assisting the family.

    Little Chute Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul shall keep. If I should die before I wake, I pray the Lord my soul shall take.

    Age 22, died unexpectedly and peacefully in her sleep Friday, March 15, 2002 at her home. She was born April 13, 1979 in Kaukauna daughter of Michael and Sharon (De Valk) Evers. April was a 1997 graduate of Little Chute High School and was active in softball and basketball. She as a 2001 graduate of St. Norbert College and was currently a graduate student at the University Wisconsin Madison for Journalism. She enjoyed many different types of music and also musical shows, "Rent," being her personal favorite. She also enjoyed traveling and had the opportunity to spend five weeks in Europe this past summer.

    April is survived by her parents: Michael and Sharon Evers, Little Chute a sister, Erin (Greg) Millard, West Bend her maternal grandparents: Don (Corrita) De Valk, Little Chute great-grandmother, Gen Pynenberg God parents: Rick (Sue) Rusch, Dave (Sue) Thyssen who also gave her spiritual guidance Aunts and Uncles: Charlie (Carol), Jim (Lynn), Dick (Sheila), De Valk, Cyndi (Brian) Cahill, Mike (Sarah) De Valk, Marge Lamers, Mark (Rachelle) De Valk, Diane (Tony) Uitenbroek, Don (Marie), Ron (Kelly), De Valk cousins: Randi (Andy) Ullrich, Emily, Jennifer, Sarah, Jason (Jill) De Valk, Heather (John) Woelfel, Michelle De Valk and fiance Ryan, Travis (Magan), Anna, Maggie, Luke De Valk, BJ (Katy), Melissa, Kristin Cahill, Olivia, Claudia, David De Valk, Naomi Lamers, Corrita De Valk, Trevor, Hannah, Philip Uitenbroek, Simeon, Savannah, Spencer, Jeremiah De Valk special friends: Angie, Robin, Dave, Jackie, Joel, Kara, Steve, Julie, Rick and Kristina also survived by numerous other friends, great aunts and great uncles.

    April was preceded in death by her paternals grandparents: Grandpa Harry and Grandma Dot Evers and will be buried beside them.

    Funeral services will be 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2002, at St. John Catholic Church, Little Chute with Rev. Msgr. James Vanden Hogen officiating. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Little Chute. Friends may call at the church from 3 p.m. Tuesday until the time of the mass.

    We've learned that the people you care about most in life are taken from you too soon. We've learned that you should always leave loved one with loving words. It may be the last time you see them.

  • Death: He died on November 18, 2012, at age 61, in Little Chute, Outagamie Co, Wisconsin.
  • Note: James John DeValk was born on December 16, 1950. He was born
    in Kaukauna Hospital. He grew up in Combined Locks. He grew up in a
    big family he lived with his mom Corrita, his dad Don, his six brothers
    Ron, Don, Mark, David, Dick, Mike, and his four sisters, Sharon, Diane,
    Cindy, and Marge. They lived at 405 Williams Street. When he turned
    18 he went to go fight in the Vietnam War. After he was done fighting
    in the war he worked for his dad in the carpentry business. When
    James was twenty he married Melinda VanAsten. They got married on
    January 28, 1971. After he got married he moved into Little Chute.
    James had three children of his own, Jason the oldest, Heather the
    middle child, and Michelle the youngest. In 1984 he started his own
    business called Jim and J. DeValk Builders. From the start of the
    business he had he children involved, they were hauling things, and he
    also taught them the most important thing, he taught them how to
    work hard. He handed down the business to his son Jason and went
    into a Motorcycle business. He stayed in the motorcycle business for
    four years. After James retired he loves to go up to his cottage and fish.
    When he is not at his cottage fishing he is working in his shop wood
    working.

  • Note: James J. De Valk, Little Chute, age 61, died Sunday November 18, 2012 at his home surrounded by family. He was born in Appleton, WI on December 16, 1950 to Donald and Corrita (Van Kessel) De Valk. He was a graduate of Kimberly High School. Jim married Melinda "Lynn" Van Asten on January 28, 1971 at Holy Name Parish. A Vietnam War veteran, he proudly served as a U.S. Marine. Jim was the owner and operator of Jim & J De Valk Builders in Little Chute and Thunder Valley Cycles in Oshkosh. He enjoyed fishing, working in his shop and riding his motorcycle. He was happiest spending time with his family and grandchildren at the cottage.

    Jim is survived by his wife of almost 42 years, Lynn; children: Jason (Jill) of Little Chute; Heather (John) Woelfel, Little Chute; and Michelle (Ryan) Pociask, Sheboygan Falls; grandchildren: Lindsie and Emmy De Valk, Tyler, Trent and Gracie Woelfel, Henry, Lillian and Clayton Pociask; parents: Donald and Corrita De Valk; siblings: David "Charlie" (Carol), Sharon (Mike) Evers, Dick (Sheila), Cyndi (Brian) Cahill, Mike (Sarah), Marj Lamers, Mark (Rachelle), Diane (Tony) Uitenbroek, Don (Marie) and Ron "Chip" (Kelly); and Lynn's siblings: Jennifer (Al) Hatton and Dick (Peggy) Van Asten. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

    Jim was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Melvin and Eugenia (Bowers) Van Asten.

    Visitation will be held Wednesday November 21, 2012 at ST. JOHN NEPOMUCENE CATHOLIC CHURCH (323 S. Pine St. Little Chute) beginning at 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass at 12:00 Noon. Military honors will follow. To sign the guest book, please visit oconnellfh.com. A memorial is being established.

    De Valk, Sarah M. Sarah M. De Valk, age 21, daughter of David "Charlie" and Carol De Valk, of Neenah, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, November 3, 2005. She was born on December 26, 1983, in Wausau, WI. Sarah graduated from Neenah High School in 2005. She worked at Lakeside Packaging and also volunteered at Goodwill and Bethesda Thrift Mart. Sarah loved being with people and attending family gatherings. She had a great love for babies and dogs, especially her Ceasar. Sarah also enjoyed camping, swimming, playing with her nieces and nephews, and participating in Special Olympics events. Sarah is loved and will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends. Sarah is survived by her parents, David "Charlie" and Carol De Valk; sisters: Jennifer De Valk, Emily (Shane) De Valk, Randi (Andy) Ullrich, and Nichole Servin; and brother, Brent (Paula) Servin; nephews and nieces: Bryce Meinke, Madison and Mariah Ullrich, Justin and Abigail Servin and Rece and Rici Pruett; grandparents: Don and Corrita De Valk and Francis VanderWielen; uncles and aunts: Jim and Lynn De Valk, Richard and Sheila De Valk, Mike and Sharon Evers, Tony and Diane Uitenbroek, Brian and Cindy Cahill, Marji Lamers, Mark and Rochelle De Valk, Mike and Sarah De Valk, Don and Marie De Valk, Ron and Kelly De Valk, Bob and Claire VanderWielen, Gary and Pam VanderWielen, Dan and Kathy Lamers, Mark VanderWielen, Jean VanderWielen, and Doug and Shelly VanderWielen; Godparents, Uncle Tom and Aunt Mary Cat Roovers; and many cousins. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established. A special thanks to Linda Madsen from Todd Stevens agency, Beth Biesinger from Winnebago County Human Services, the staff at Lakeside Packaging, her teachers in the Neenah School District, and the volunteers at Special Olympics events for all of their dedication to Sarah.
