    Age 61, died Wednesday, October 28, 1992 at Park Center Care Center. She was born October 7, 1931 in Sherwood, the daughter of Dan and Agnes [Rosenthal] Hopfensperger. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Kaukauna.

    She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Harold, her mother, Agnes Hopfensperger, Appleton; eight daughters and five sons in-law; Diane and Jim Tiesling, Appleton; Donna Ball, Florida; Darlene and Dave VerVoort, Appleton; Dorothea and Gary Holloway, South Carolina; Dawn Asthon, Florida; Dena and Joe Mikkelson, Oshkosh; Dickie and Harold Meyer, Appleton; Denise Maves, Appleton; two sons and daughters in-law; Dennis and Barbara, Appleton; Daniel and Patti, Neenah; 14 grandchildren; a brother and sister in-law, Eugene and Marge Hopfensperger, California; two sisters and brothers in-law, Lorraine and Robert Nabbefeld, Kaukauna; Frances and Donald Worden, Black Creek; and a special friend, Al Gallagher, Florida.

    She was preceded in death by her father, Dan, in 1989, a brother, Daniel, and a sister, LaVerne.

    Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Fargo Funeral Home with the Rev. Thomas Part officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Friends may call at the funeral home, Kaukauna from 10 a.m. on Friday until the services.

    Daniel D. Hopfensperger

    Third Appleton Man Dies in War
    Parents notified that Daniel Hopfensperger Was Killed September 12, 1950

    Daniel Hopfensperger Jr., Sergeant First Class, son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Hopfensperger, 1907 N. Charlotte St., was killed in Korea on September 12, 1950, his parents were notified Saturday by the was department. He is the third Appleton man killed in the Korean war. His parents received a letter from their son on Friday. It had been written of September 7, they said. A veteran of three years in the service, Hopfensperger joined the army shortly after his 17th birthday anniversary on November 1, 1947. He was stationed in Japan for about two years and was sent to Korea last August 16. He was attached to Company E of the Eight Calvary regiment.
    Born in the Town of Harrison on November 3, 1930, Sergeant Hopfensperger attended Sacred Heart and St. Theresa parochial schools. He was employed at the Lutz Ice company before enlisting.

    In addition to his parents, he is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Harold Ashton, Appleton; Mrs. Robert Nabbefeld, Kaukauna; and Miss Frances Hopfensperger, at home; and and brother, Eugene, at home; a grandmother and step grandfather, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Hauert, Appleton, also survives.

    Frances I. Worden age 65 died Thursday June 24, 1999, she was born October 9, 1933. The daughter of the late Daniel and Agnes (Rosenthal) Hopfensperger. She was united in marriage to Donald Worden on August 23, 1952. Frances enjoyed gardening, taking tap dancing lessions, painting and wood carving and
    most of all her family and grandchildren.

    She is survived by her loving husband, Donald Worden, a son Donald Jr. (Kim), Dale; a daughter, Ardis (Joe) Macco, of Black Creek; a sister Lorraine Nabbefield, Kaukauna; a brother, Eugene ( Margie) Hopfensperger, Sparta; a brother in-law, Harold Aston, Kaukauna; numerious nieces and nephews; five grandchildren; Scott, Richard and Mary Worden, Llindsay and Christoper Macco.

    Preceded in by her parents, 1 brother, Staff Sgt. Daniel Hopfensperger, who died in the Korean War; 1 sister; Joysce Aston; and brother in-law, Robert Nabbefeld, Kaukauna.

    She will be truly missed by all those she touched. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. until the time of service and 11 a.m. on Monday June 28, 1999, Pastor Dwight Douville officiating the service at Calvary Chapel, 2136 E. Newberry St. In Lieu of other expressions of sympathy a memorial fund has been established...

Nobby worked for Badger Northland for 19 years and later was self employed at a T V Repairman. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed spending time with his family.

    He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Lorraine [Hopfensperger] Nabbefeld; a daughter and son in-law; Debby and Don Koester, Combined Locks; three sons and two daughter in-laws; Jim Nabbefeld, Fond du Lac; Gary and Brigette Nabbefeld, Kaukauna; Ron and Pam Nabbefeld, Kimberly; seven grandchildren; Brian and Lisa Nabbefeld, Emily and Lindsey Nabbefeld, Mariah Nabbefeld, Stacie and Cory Koester; a great grandson; Christopher Nabbefeld; two brothers; Arthur Nabbefeld, Appleton; Tom Nabbefeld, San Antonio, Texas; a sister and brother in-law, Marion and Marvin Schimmelpfenning, Appleton, numerouis nieces and nephews, and a very special friend, Foster Busse Jr., Kaukauna.

    Ashton, Harold L. Harold L. Ashton, "Shorty," Kaukauna, age 83, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, February 13, 2007. Harold was born July 2, 1923, the son of the late John and Ethel (Frey) Ashton. On October 11, 1947, he married the former Joyce Hopfensperger at Trinity Lutheran Church in Appleton; Joyce preceded him in death in 1992.

    Harold is survived by ten children: Diane (James) Tiesling, Appleton; Donna (Jerry) Mikkelson, Miami, Florida; Darlene (David) Ver Voort, Appleton; Dennis (Barbara) Ashton, Appleton; Dorry Holloway, Milton, Florida; Dawn (John) Padgett, Homestead, Florida; Dina (Joe) Mikkelson, Appleton; Dickie (Harold) Meyer, Ellsworth; Daniel (Patti) Ashton, Appleton; and Denise (Lester) Lesselyoung, Appleton. Grandchildren: Brian (Jennifer) Tiesling, Brenda Tiesling, Tammy Ver Voort, David (Jolie) Ver Voort, Jr., Marcia Ashton, Gregory Ashton, Carrie Holloway, Nathan (Erika) Holloway, Lisa (Josh) Eldredge, Ashley Mikkelson, Melissa (Adam) Linder, Crystal Meyer, Scott Meyer, Christopher Lesselyoung, Lainee Lesselyoung; and six great-grandchildren.

    Harold also leaves behind two brothers-in-law: Eugene (Margie) Hopfensperger and Donald Worden; and a sister-in-law: Lorraine Nabbefeld.

    The funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Walt Steinbach of Bethany Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
