She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother Erv, a son Richard, a sister Mildred, and an infant son William. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 18, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at the Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in New London with the Fr. David Lewis officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday, March 17, 2002 at the Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London from 4-8 p.m. where a 7:30 p.m. prayer service will be held.     Davis, Lloyd G.
    Lloyd G. Davis, age 87, of New London, passed away at Eastview Medical and Rehabilitation Center in Antigo. Lloyd was born in the Township of Northport, on Noavember 27, 1920, son of the late George and Julia (Borhman) Davis. On June 6, 1946, Lloyd was united in marriage to Agnes Rueden. She preceded him in death on March 14, 2002. He worked for New London Utilities for many years. He was very active in New London youth baseball, the American Legion and the Merchants, he was also president of Little Britches and Rodeo City Riders. Lloyd served his country in the US Navy from 1940-1943; he was involved in all invasions from Africa to Normandy.
    He is survived by two daughters: Pamela (Norbert) Wensel, Deerbrook; Patti (Loren) Buss, Tigerton; a son-in-law Steve Paquette, New London; Five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    Besides his parents, sister and wife, Lloyd is preceded in death by a son Richard, a daughter Paula Paquette and an infant son William.
    Funeral Mass for Lloyd will be held on Friday, May 16, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in New London with Fr. David Lewis officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery, Military Graveside Rites will be held. Friends may call at the Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London on Thursday, May 15, 2008 from 4-8 p.m., a 7:30 p.m. prayer service will be held.   • Note: Roger Anthony Rueden, age 87 of Shiocton, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at his residence. Roger was born on April 17, 1929 to the late Edward and Mary (Driessen) Rueden in Shiocton. He grew up in Shiocton and graduated from Shiocton High School in 1947. On January 3, 1953, he was united in marriage to Verona King. She preceded him in death on May 16, 2016. Roger was a farmer his entire life and worked on the family farm. He also worked construction until 1967 and drove school bus for Shiocton School District for 42 years. He officially retired in 2009. Roger enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and playing Sheepshead with his buddies. Roger loved his numerous trips to Canada fishing with his family and friends.

    Roger survived by his children, Ronald (Paula) Rueden, Diane Knops, Becky (John) Sager, and Kathleen (Carl) Lucht; grandchildren, Eric (Jamie) Sager, Heather Knops (Tony Rangel), Sara (Corey) Bergsbaken, Jessica Sager, Jason (Lauren) Knops and Landon Lucht; great-grandchildren, Dakota, Hailey, Colton, Alexis, Aiden, Brandon, Shanna, Connor, Kyle, Owen, Olivia, Antonio and Anna and his sister, JoAnn Meyer. He is further survived by five step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

    Roger is preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter, Debra Rueden; son-in-law, Ron Knops and siblings, Mildrid, Ervin, Ceciel, Agnes, Marion and Elizabeth.

    A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 15, 2016, at St. Denis Catholic Church in Shiocton, with Fr. Richard Allen and Deacon Ken Bilgrien officiating. Family and friends can visit directly at the church on Thursday, from 9 a.m. until the time of mass. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

    The family would like to thank the entire staff of Synergy Homecare, especially Megan, for the exceptional, tender care shown to Roger and the family.

    Appleton

    Age 84, died Monday, October 28, 2002 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, surrounded by her family. She was born in Kaukauna on December 29, 1917 to the late Edward and Mary (Driessen) Rueden. On September 4, 1952 she married Anthony Zitzelsberger, he preceded her in death on March 17, 2000. Cecilia was a charter member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. She taught in a one room school in the Shiocton area. She worked at Zwickers Knitting Mill and then with her husband for their excavating company.

    Cecilia was devoted to her family and will be sadly missed by her sons: Randy (Susan), Steve (Sharon), and Mark, all of Appleton daughter, Barbara (Don) Laux, Appleton grandchildren: Amy and Eric Zitzelsberger, Kristie (Nick) Marx, Brett (special friend Amy) Zitzelsberger, Andrea, Jennifer and Melissa Laux great-grandchild, Mariah Lynn Laux brother, Roger (Verona) Rueden, Shiocton sisters: Marion (Vic) Barlow, Appleton Betty (Max) Bohatschek, Neenah Joanne (Gene) Meyer, Greenville special friend and sister-in-law, Shirley Rueden, Appleton brother-in-law, Lloyd Davis, New London other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Ervin Rueden sisters, Agnes Davis and Milly (Norman) Seguin.

    The Funeral Mass will be Thursday, October 31, 2002 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 500 W. Marquette St., with Father Don Zuleger officiating. The visitation will be Wednesday at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. and again on Thursday at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. There will be a vigil service at 6 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.

  • Note: Marian M. Barlow passed away on September 18, 2013 after a short illness. Marian was born in Kaukauna on April 26, 1923, the daughter of the late Edward and Mary (Driessen) Rueden. She married Victor Barlow on September 28, 1946 in Shiocton. He preceded her in death on September 8, 2010.

    She took pride in growing up on a farm in Shiocton. She loved to do Word Searches and play cribbage. She was famous for her chocolate chip cookies, her Thanksgiving stuffing and all her pies. Nobody left her home hungry. She enjoyed spending time with her family and always loved visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

    Marian is survived by her children Bob (Connie) Barlow, Mike (Gretchen) Barlow, Peggy (John) Annis, Sharon Barlow and son-in-law Bob Henseler. Her 11 grandchildren Scott (Sherri) Henseler, Mark (Jen) Henseler, Stephanie (AJ) Hosig, Brian (Lauren) Barlow, Brandon Barlow, Emily Barlow, Matt Barlow, Nick (Tiffany) Annis, Tim Annis, Alex Annis and Jordan Annis. Her 3 great-grandchildren Derek and Abbey Henseler and Vincent Annis. Her brother Roger (Verona) Rueden, sister Joanne Meyer and sister-in-law Shirley Reuden. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Vic, her daughter Jean Henseler, her brother Erv Rueden and sisters Cele Zitzelsberger, Milly Seguin, Agnes Davis and Betty Bohatschek.

    A Funeral Mass for Marian will be held at 10:00AM, Saturday, September 21, 2013 at St. Mary's Catholic

    Church, 312 S. State St, Appleton. Friends and family may call at the church from 9:00AM until the time of service at the church.

    In lieu of flowers, donations will be distributed among her favorite charities.

Betty Marie Rueden

  • Death: Betty Marie Rueden died on November 21, 2012, at age 81.
  • Note: God opened his arms and welcomed home Betty Marie Bohatschek, when she died peacefully Wednesday, November 21, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. Betty was born in Shiocton on May 12, 1931 to the late Edward and Mary Rueden. Blessed into a large family, she grew up on the family farm and learned life lessons that she would carry with her throughout her life. After graduation she worked at Zwickers Mill and enjoyed many adventures with her friends, especially to Shawano Lake.

    On September 5, 1955, she married Max Bohatschek. Together they enjoyed 40 years of companionship. During that time they enjoyed card club, bowling, and spending time with family and friends. They took bus trips, traveled, and attended many Packer games. As a mother of young children, Betty volunteered at St. Gabriel Church. She worked at Kimberly Clark for 20-plus years, taking with her many memories and life-long friends. After retirement, she enjoyed time volunteering at Theda Clark's gift shop.

    Betty was well known as a savvy card player, who would never share her strategies. She also greatly enjoyed gardening, canning and cooking. Her family recipes have been, and will be, passed on for many generations. She will always be remembered for her great sense of humor and her ability to make light of any situation.

    The light of her life in her later years were her grandchildren and granddogs. She was the best grandma any child could have wished for. They will always cherish the memories they were fortunate to make with her and they both loved her with all their hearts. Betty was generous with her family and friends; always putting their needs before her own. She would often go without to give her children a little something special.

    Betty will be missed by her two daughters: Ann (Steven) Heser; Julie (Duane) DeKeyser; her two grandchildren: Nathan and Alyssa DeKeyser; her sisters: Joanne Meyer; Marion Barlow; and brother, Roger (Verona) Rueden. She is further survived by her sisters-in-law: Shirley Rueden and Lorraine (Mike) Vander Wielen as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Max; siblings: Cele (Tony) Zitzelsberger; Mildred (Norm) Seguin; Agnes (Lloyd) Davis; Ervin Rueden; brothers-in-law: Gene Meyer, and Vic Barlow; and other family members, in-laws, and friends.

    The funeral service for Betty will be held at 11:30 A.M. Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, Fr. Larry Seidl officiating. Friends will be received at church from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service.

    In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.

    The family would like to thank the staff of Fox River Assisted Living for their constant care, friendship and compassion. Betty enjoyed the residents and staff over the last few years. Thank you also to the staff of Appleton Medical Center, Rennes, and Unity Hospice for the care and dignity they showed during the last weeks of her life.

  • Note: Joanne Johanna (nee' Rueden) Meyer passed away peacefully, with her family at her side, on Sunday, January 15, 2017, following a short hospitalization. She was born on the family farm in Shiocton, on April 26, 1934, the youngest of the 8 children of Edward and Mary (Driessen) Rueden. On May 5, 1956, Joanne married Eugene Meyer. He preceded her in death on June 26, 2009.

    Joanne was an active member of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Greenville, for 58 years, helping with many of the church and school act ivies over the years. Most recently, she enjoyed meeting with others to make Rosaries for the missions. A few of her other interests included extensive Genealogy research, some travel and playing cards and other games. Joanne also enjoyed and appreciated visits with her friends and extended family, card playing groups, and birthday lunches with her "work group" from the credit union. Her life was always centered around her family.

    Joanne is survived by her 4 children: Sue (Tom) Feld, Lisa Strong, Kerrie (Jimmy) Buksyk and Daniel Meyer; her 4 grandchildren: Jeremy (Anushka) Klitzke, James (Angela) Buksyk, Justin Buksyk and Johanna Buksyk; and her 2 great-grandchildren: Evan Eugene Buksyk and Madisen Rose Buksyk.

    Mass of Christian burial for Joanne will be 11:30 AM on Friday January 20, 2017 at ST. MARY OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, N2385 Municipal Dr, Greenville, with Fr. Dane Radecki officiating. Visitation will be held at the church Friday morning beginning at 9:30 until 11:15 AM, with Mass at 11:30 AM. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

    Mom will be missed by all and remembered with love.

    Verona was born in Appleton, Wisconsin on March, 3, 1932, the daughter of Edward and Irene (Lettman) King. Her family moved to Shiocton Verona's freshman year of high school, where she then graduated. On January 3, 1953, Verona married Roger Rueden in Shiocton, Wisconsin. Throughout the years Verona worked at the family restaurant Eat Shop, Zwickers, and drove bus for Shiocton School District, but most importantly, she was a full time mother and farm wife. Verona was a life long member of St. Denis Catholic Church and a member of St. Ann's Christian Mother Society.

    She enjoyed fishing, bowling, golfing, playing with her card club and raising cauliflower.

    Verona is survived by her husband, Roger; children, Ronald (Paula) Rueden, Diane Knops, Becky (John) Sager, and Kathleen (Carl) Lucht; grandchildren, Eric (Jamie) Sager, Heather Knops (Tony Rangel), Sara (Corey) Bergsbaken, Jessica Sager, Jason (Lauren) Knops, and Landon Lucht; and great-grandchildren, Dakota, Hailey, Colton, Alexis, Aiden, Brandon, Shanna, Connor, Kyle, Owen, Olivia, Antonio and Anna.     The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at St. Denis Catholic Church, Shiocton, with Fr. Richard Allen and Deacon Ken Bilgrien officiating. Family and friends are invited to visit directly at the church on Tuesday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

    The family would like to thank the staff and nurses at both St. Joseph Residence and ThedaCare Hospice for the tender care shown to Verona and the family. Also, they would like to thank Fr. Norman Kruzik and Deacon Ken Bilgrien for the kind and compassionate spiritual care given to Verona.

  • Note: Victor B. Barlow, 90 of Appleton, passed away on September 8, 2010. He was born Sept 3, 1920, in New London to the late August and Lessie (Post) Barlow. He married Marian Rueden on Sept. 28, 1946, in Shiocton. Victor served during WWII in the Navy aboard a carrier in the Pacific. He worked at Roundy's in Little Chute for 36 years and was a member of VFW Post 2778.

    Victor is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Jean Henseler, brothers: Ray, Louis, George, Simon and Kenneth (Kay), sisters: Beatrice, Evelyn (Frank) Fischer, Georgie Anna Barlow and Betty (Elmer) Rohde, father- and mother-in-law, Edward (Mary) Rueden, sisters and brothers-in-law: Cele (Tony) Zitzelsberger, Milly (Norman) Seguin, Erv Rueden, Agnes (Lloyd) Davis, Max Bothatschek and Gene Meyer.

    The family would like to thank Dr. Ken Geller for taking good care of him throughout the years and the wonderful caring staff at Oakridge Gardens.

    Meyer, Eugene "Gene" Edward


    Gene, 82, Greenville, on Friday, June 26, 2009, we lost a cherished Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Cousin, Brother-in-law and Friend. Eugene Edward Meyer passed away at home with his family at his side.

    Gene was born October 26, 1926, in Eau Claire, WI to the late Arthur and Caroline (Nowak) Meyer and moved to Lena, WI as a small child. He graduated from Lena High School as salutatorian in 1944. He married Joanne Rueden at St. Denis Catholic Church in Shiocton May 5, 1956.

    Gene served his country during the Korean War. He retired from McKesson Corporation. Gene volunteered for over twenty years at the Hortonville Community Food Pantry serving on it's Building Committee and its Board of Directors. Gene loved nature and all it had to offer. He enjoyed his many trips to Canada fishing and his Tuesday morning card games with the guys. Gene was a member of The Knights of Columbus Council #7895. He was a member of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church in Greenville for over 50 years. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed sharing his bountiful harvest with many friends. He definitely had a "green thumb" and enjoyed passing on his knowledge to his children and grandchildren. Gene loved people and was a warm and caring person. Gene liked all types of music, especially classical. He sang in the church choir for many years.

    Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Joanne; one son, Daniel Edward Meyer (special friend Brenda Gosz), Appleton; three daughters, Susan (Tom) Feld, Appleton, Lisa Strong, Pearson and Kerrie (James) Buksyk, Neenah; four grandchildren, Dr. Jeremy (Dr. Delis) Klitzke, Portland, OR, James Buksyk (fiance Angela Hewitt), Justin Buksyk and Johanna Buksyk, all of Neenah; one brother, Jerome (Beryl) Meyer, Lena, two sisters, Carol (Tom) Scallon, Manitowoc and Marion (Joe) Dudek, Coleman, four sisters-in-law, Phyllis Meyer, Lena, Marion (Vic) Barlow, Betty Bohatschek and Shirley Rueden, all of Appleton, one brother-in-law, Roger (Verona) Rueden, Shiocton. Many nieces, nephews and friends.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Jack and a sister Phyllis, three sisters-in-law and their husbands; Cele (Tony) Zitzelsberger, Mildred (Norm) Seguin and Agnes (Lloyd) Davis; two brothers-in-law, Ervin Rueden and Max Bohatschek.

    The celebration of Gene's life will be held at 12 p.m. (Noon) Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Greenville with Rev. Justin Werner celebrating the Mass of Christian Burial. Friends may visit the family from 9 a.m. until the time of mass. Interment will be in St. Mary's parish cemetery with Military Honors.

    Jansen, Eugene R. Eugene R. Jansen, "Gene," Menasha, age 77, passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2006, at his residence with his family at his side. He was born on September 24, 1928, in Little Chute, son of the late Henry J. and Loretta (Coenen) Jansen. Gene married Rita Wagner on February 24, 1951, in Washington D.C. Gene was a Staff Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps. and was a part of the Korean Conflict. He was employed as an ink technician with Marathon/Sun Chemical Corporation from 1950 until 1992, when he retired after 42 years. Gene loved playing cards, going up north to the family cottage, and crossword puzzles. Gene was an avid reader and enjoyed watching the Packers and listening to the Brewers. He especially loved the time he spent with his grandchildren and family. Gene is survived by his wife, Rita, their children: Steve (Marlene) Jansen, John Jansen, Chris Jansen, Lori (Steve) Nelson, and Lisa (Josh) Michalkiewicz; grandchildren: Matthew (Katie) Jansen, Morgan and Carly Michalkiewicz; a sister, Yvonne (Lyle) Butts; a brother Earl Jansen; sisters-in-law: Margaret Faust and Helen Prestipino; and brother-in-law, Paul (Ellie) Dohr. Eugene is further survived by other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Elaine Dohr, brothers-in-law and sister-in-law: Burnell (Virginia) Wagner, John Faust, and Hank Prestipino. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2006, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 516 De Pere Street, Menasha, with Fr. Paul Radetski officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Interment will take place in St. John Cemetery, Menasha. In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established.   • Note: Earl H. Jansen, 78, of Chambersburg, PA, died unexpectedly Wednesday morning, July 17, 2013, in the emergency room of Chambersburg Hospital. Born March 31, 1935, in Little Chute, WI, he was a son of the late Henry and Loretta E. Coenen Jansen. He earned a BS in Engineering from Marquette University in Milwaukee and retired as a Quality Assurance/Technical Manager from the former James River Corporation in Chambersburg on August 1, 1990, after many years of service. He attended Corpus Christi Catholic Church for many years, was a member of Knights of Columbus Council #1426 and B.P.O. Elks Lodge #600, all in Chambersburg. Mr. Jansen was an eclectic music connoisseur and an avid reader of non-fiction. He especially enjoyed reading about current events and history.

    He is survived by three sons, Randy A. Jansen and wife Melody of Chambersburg, Mark A. Jansen and wife Marie of Columbia, MD, and Timothy J. Jansen and wife Vicki of Waynesboro, VA; a daughter, Linda S. Strite of Chambersburg; eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Yvonne M. Butts and husband Lyle of Menasha, WI. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Rita Jansen; a brother-in-law, Paul Dohr; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene R. Jansen; a sister, Elaine Dohr; and a grandson, Shaun Jansen.

    Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, July 20, 2013, in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA with Rev. Paul Theisz officiating. Interment will follow at Lincoln Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday.

    It was Mr. Jansen's request that flowers be omitted and memorial contributions be made to Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 320 Philadelphia Avenue, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
