Age 83, died Friday, March 15, 2002 at Century Oaks in Darboy following a short illness. She was born August 12, 1918 the daughter of the late Joseph and Hannah (Auden) Nushart. On May 4, 1937 Cecelia was united in marriage to Wilfred Siebers. Cecelia's strength of spirit and fiercely loving personality will ensure that she lives on in the hearts of her family and friends. A child of Bohemian ancestry and the Great Depression, she learned the lessons of survival early. A tough, tender, caring and loyal personality, combined with a wonderful sense of humor and fun, endeared her to people of all ages. Games with her children grandchildren and finally great-grandchildren, always delighted her. "How're doing, kid?" was her familiar greeting -- sharing a laugh was her typical way of relating to all. Even in her last months at Century Oaks Residential Facility, her sense of humor and love of independence created many new relationships. The staff became an extension of her family. She thought of them as her friends and they returned her affections. Cecelia's family wishes to thank the staff for their loving care of our mother. Wife, mother, homemaker, gourmet cook in the old traditions -- she was multifaceted. She strove for excellence in all these roles and took pride in them. Her husband, Wilfred, benefited from her culinary skills -- his lunchbox always contained her best efforts. She will be remembered for her turkey and dressing, lemon pies, dumplings, fancy cakes and true devotion to her family. "Watch the cars" was her caring goodbye to anyone who was leaving and driving.
