  • Note: Orvell A. De Bruin, 92, of Seymour passed away Sunday, July 27, 2014 at Good Shepherd Nursing Home with his family by his side. He was born July 1, 1922 son of the late John Edward and Hattie (Green) De Bruin. On July 31, 1943 he was united in marriage to Rose Marye Mory. She preceded him in death January 30, 2012.

    Orvell was a graduate of the of Seymour High School class of 1940. He farmed until his retirement and was a World War II Army Veteran. Orvell was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Seymour. He was ordained May 16, 1981 to the Permanent Deaconate by Bishop Wycislo at the Cathedral in Green Bay. He served at St. John Catholic Church for many years.

    Orvell was the Rural Life Director for Diocese, Diocesan Rural Life Grant Program, Advocate for Marriage Tribunal, Parish Council St. Johns for 30 years, Chaplain Knights of Columbus Seymour, Parish Trustee and Treasurer for 12 years, Seymour Area Clergy Association, he and his wife Rose Marye started St. Vincent De Paul Conference at St. Johns, County Committee Farmers Home Administration, American Legion, VFW and the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. In 1991 he was named Seymour's Outstanding Citizen of the Year.

    Survivors include his children: Elizabeth Birling, Green Bay; David (Mary) De Bruin, Seymour; Steve De Bruin, Algoma; Debra Rosin, Green Bay; Dennis De Bruin (special friend Terri), Appleton; grandchildren: Anthony ( Pamela) Birling, Andrew Birling, Amy Birling, Amanda (special friend Andy) Birling, Sarah (Justin) Goetz, Katie (Aaron) Galarowicz, Joshua (Tiffany) De Bruin, Angie (Brian) Woolery, Jacqueline De Bruin, Tanya (Jeremy) Peacock, Dennis De Bruin Jr.; great-grandchildren: Zachary, Shelby, Taylor, Jacob, Greame and Austin; brother, Ervin (Millie) De Bruin, Appleton; sister, Lucille Werth, Appleton; sisters-in-law: Peggy Mory, Arizona; Helen Nelson, Ft. Worth, Texas; many nieces and nephews.

    Preceded in death by his son-in-law, Tom Birling; daughters-in-law: Sharon De Bruin and Patti De Bruin brother, Lloyd (Margaret) De Bruin; sister, Mabel (Lloyd) Wagner; brothers-in-law: Tom Nelson, Ralph Mory, sisters-in-law: Margaret De Bruin, Roberta (Robert) Mory.

    Friends may call at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Seymour on Wednesday, July 30, 2012 from 4-8 PM and prayer service at 7:30 PM and on Thursday, July 31, 2012 at the Church from 9:30 AM until Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 AM with Mgrs. James Dillenburg and Fr. Bob Kabat officiating. Burial will take place in St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Seymour. Military Honors will follow at the cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at

    Mabel C. Wagner, age 85, of Appleton, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, November 29, 2009. She was born in Seymour on November 29, 1924, daughter of the late John Edward and Hattie (Green) DeBruin. On May 1, 1948, Mabel was united in marriage to Lloyd Wagner. He preceded her in death on September 29, 1995. Mabel began her care-giving career at St. Elizabeth Hospital and then worked at Appleton Extended Care for 25 years as a CNA giving care and comfort to all with warmth and kindness. After retiring, she did volunteer work to help those in need.

    Mabel is survived by her four children: Nancy (Andy) Gerl, Ken (Denise) Wagner, Linda (Steve) Wagner and George (Lorri) Wagner; eight grandchildren: James (Shelley) Wagner, Jarred Gerl, Bryan (Bridgette) Gerl, Andrea (Adam) Keller, Jim and Jenny Wagner, Jessica (Brian) Netzel and Brandon Wagner, and a great-grandchild, Hollie Netzel. She is further survived by two brothers, Orvell (RoseMarye) DeBruin and Ervin (Millie) DeBruin, and a sister, Lucille Werth. Mabel will be missed by many nieces and nephews as well.

    Mabel was preceded in death by a brother, Lloyd (Margaret) DeBruin; three brothers-in-law: George (Caroline) Wagner, Joe Dorn and Jerry Werth; two nephews: Harry and Joe DeBruin.

    A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 3, 2009, at St. Joseph Catholic Church (410 W. Lawrence St., Appleton) with Fr. Larry Abler presiding. Burial will be held in Highland Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the hour of Mass on Thursday at the church.

    The family would like to thank Dr. Karl Baum and Rennes Nursing Home for the care that was given to Mabel. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Mabel's name.

  • Note: Kenneth WT Krueger, 68, formerly of Appleton, died unexpectedly on Friday, Aug. 12, 2011, at his cottage in Waupaca. He was born Oct. 8, 1942, in Colorado, son of the late William and Dorothy (Peterson) Krueger. Ken served for four years in the U.S. Air Force.

    He was employed and retired from Thilmany Pulp and Paper. Ken enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.

    He is survived by his children, Kelly (Brian) Nettekoven, Appleton; Kevin (Gina) Krueger, Hollandtown; and Jennifer (Jonathon) Bucko, Missouri; six grandchildren, Natalie, Madison and Hannah Nettekoven, Nolan, Maliya and Barrett Krueger; one brother-in-law, Bill Lydecker, Minnesota; numerous nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by one sister, Marna Lydecker.

    Memorial services for Ken will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 18, 2011, at Boettcher Family Funeral Home, 2401 Fieldcrest Dr., Kaukauna. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 12 Noon until the time of services.

  • Burial: She was buried in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton, Outagamie Co, Wisconsin.
  • Note: Lucille T. Werth, 87 years, passed away November 6, 2016 at St. Paul Home, Kaukauna, Wisconsin. She was born on April 27, 1929 in Seymour, Wisconsin to her loving parents Edward and Henrietta (Green) DeBruin. In her early years she was the cook for the hands on the family farm in Seymour. She met her husband Walter Dorn at the Cinderella Dance Hall. Together they raised seven children and started Wally Steak House in Charlesburg, WI where she was active in all areas of the business.

    Lucille later married Jerry Werth, in Hawaii and opened the Prime Steer in Hilbert, WI with later locations opening in Kaukauna, WI and Green Bay, WI.

    Lucille liked to travel, flying to Florida, Europe and Mexico were favorite trips. She enjoyed her Monday night off going to other supper clubs and swapping stories. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.

    She will be missed by her children Donald (Kathryn) Dorn, Ronald (Ginny) Dorn, Randy (Debra) Dorn, Joseph (June) Dorn, Daniel (Julie) Dorn, Larry (Lola) Dorn and Sue (Dean) Meyer and her brother Ervin DeBruin. She is further survived by 23 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

    Lucille is preceded in death by her parents Edward and Henrietta DeBruin, her first husband Walter Dorn, her second husband Jerry Werth, grandsons Ross Dorn, Erik Dorn, and Bryan Dorn, siblings Lloyd (Margaret) DeBruin, Orville (Rosemary) DeBruin and Mabel (Lloyd) Wagner and sister-in-law Millie DeBruin.

    A Memorial Service for Lucille will be on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at 11 am at The Funeral Home. Private inurnment Highland Memorial Park. Visitation Wednesday, at the Funeral Home, from 9 am until time of Service.

  • Death: He died on October 12, 2013, at age 91.
  • Note: Harold Peter Weiland died on Saturday, October 12, 2013, at Rennes Health Care Center in Appleton, Wisconsin. Harold was born on June 18, 1922, in Appleton, to the late John and Mary Weiland. He graduated from Appleton High School in 1940 and married Mary Geraldine Manning on March 11, 1944. Harold served his country during World War II as a leader of an Army Air Corps support unit in Las Vegas, Nevada.

    He was the owner and manager of the Harold Weiland/Fox Cities Insurance Agency for 25 years. Harold served as U.S. Representative Robert Cornell's home secretary and was a broker with Piper, Jaffray and Hopwood. He spent his early retirement lovingly caring for his wife who died of Alzheimer's disease in 2006. Harold continued to volunteer at Rennes Health Care Center following her death.

    He is survived by his two children, Cecilia Wiltzius and Jim Weiland; his daughter-in-law, Ellen Weiland; his two grandsons, Sam Wiltzius and Ben (Laura) Weiland. Harold is further survived by five brothers and a sister. A second daughter, Fran Weiland, preceded him in death. All those who knew Harold will miss his calming presence, commitment to family and genuine acts of love.

    Contributions to Harold's favorite charities, The Salvation Army and St. Joseph's Food Pantry, would be appreciated. The family is grateful for the compassionate care Harold received from Dr. Deborah Ihde and the staff at Renaissance Assisted Living, and Rennes Nursing and Rehab Center.     Gloria M. Weiland, 85 years of age passed away at home Aug. 2, 2014, from "stroke" related altercations suffering with prolonged "Bronchiactisis".

    Her life-long partner John W. Weiland, 88 years of age, deceased in Hospice Sept. 6, 2014, from "Parkinson's" Disease complications, was taken by Our Lord to join his wife Gloria of 65 years, glorified into Everlasting Salvation, reunited together in Eternal Life with our Loving Lord our God forever lasting.

    John and Gloria are survived by their two children, Christopher John and Elizabeth Ann to have had two grandchildren, Alexander and Nicholas Abrams.

    Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2015, at Spanish River Church, 2400 Yamato Road, Boca Raton, (561)994-5000.
