  • Note: Anna M. Larsen, 88, Green Bay, died peacefully Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011, at her home. She was born March 12, 1923, in De Pere, to Thomas and Mary (Bongers) Heesaker. In 1942, she graduated from Nicolet High School.

    Anna had been employed at Western Union. On Oct. 5, 1946, she married Gordon Larsen at St. Boniface Catholic Church in De Pere. Along with her husband, Anna owned and operated Larsen TV and Appliance. She later worked at San Luis Manor Nursing Home. Mrs. Larsen was a member of St. Agnes Parish. For 25 years, Anna worked as a volunteer for St. Vincent De Paul.

    She enjoyed sewing and created many treasured gifts of quilts, teddy bears and other stuffed animals and even helped create a bear skin rug. Anna loved to travel with her husband and with her family.

    Survivors include her three children and their spouses, Allen Larsen, Peggy and Daniel Wellens, Chuck and Joan Larsen; her grandchildren, Corbin Litke, Brenda (Scott) Conradt, Bruce Litke, Tina (Steve) Williams, Naomi Larsen, Penny Larsen, Cora (Robert) Gladych, Sarah (Chaming) Yang; step-grandchild, Michael (Bobbie) Wellens; many great-grandchildren; three sisters, Alice Harvey, Dorothy VandeVeren, Joan Otto; five sisters-in-law, Irene Heesaker, Evelyn Heesaker, Sylvia (Wendell) Nelson, Evelyn Nelson and Della Seiler.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon; a son, Thomas Larsen; a step-grandchild, Lisa Williams; two brothers, Andrew Heesaker, James Heesaker; a sister, Ruth Wicker.

    Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. A Parish Wake Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Visitation will continue from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1484 Ninth Street. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church with the Rev.     The Larsen family wishes to express their gratitude to the staffs of Grancare Nursing Home and Heartland Hospice for their care of Anna during her illness.

    Dorothy lived life extremely proud of her Dutch heritage and with the same passion, heart, toughness and spirit of her number one favorite team, the Packers. She really enjoyed spending time with her Iowa Packer fan family.

    Dorothy most enjoyed time spent with her family.

    Dorothy is survived by her 2 sons, Hank (Betty) and George "Van" Vanderveren; 2 daughters, Mari (Leon) Rushing and Susan (Joe) Schleis; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; her sister, Joan Otto; sister-in-law, Irene Heesaker and many nieces and nephews.

    She was preceded in death by her soulmate, Steve; 5 siblings; a Godson; other relatives and friends.
