  • Note: Doris Mary Lorenz, age 84, of Shiocton passed away peacefully with her family by her side on March 1, 2014 at Greentree Nursing Home in Clintonville. She was born June 22, 1929 daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine (Mueller) Werner. On August 5, 1950 she was united in marriage to Elton Lorenz at St. Edwards in Mackville and celebrated 63 years together.

    Doris was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Navarino.

    Doris and Elton began building their homestead and continued to work together raising their family, taking care of the farm, and hauling milk for many years.

    She enjoyed providing for the family with her gardening skills. Doris was in charge of raising the pickles that were later sold to the canning factory to help support the family. She took pride in cooking the meals for the family gatherings during the holidays; usually never using a recipe.

    Some of the greatest memories were made on the weekly Saturday shopping trips to Appleton.

    Her grandchildren were always eager to visit Grandma Doris's special candy jar.

    She is survived by her husband Elton, their children: Patricia (Lloyd) Tesch, Eagle River; Dennis (Sally) Lorenz, Kaukauna; Kathleen (Ron) Guyette, Black Creek; Gerald (special friend Lisa) Lorenz, Iowa; Gordon (Diana) Lorenz, Shiocton; Harold (Tammy) Lorenz, Shiocton; Debra (Gary) Blohm, Seymour; Sandra (Joe) Gitter, New London; Christine (Vernon) Stedjee, Shiocton; 27 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Marcella Schwahn, Kimberly; Evelyn Krueger, Appleton. Doris is further survived by her brother-in-law Ralph (Roberta) Lorenz, Black Creek; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

    She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Peter; brother, Jerome Werner; sister, Leona McClone.

    Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 from 4 to 8 pm. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 from 9:30 am until the funeral service at 11 am with Deacon Don Coenen officiating.

    Burial will take place at South Cicero Cemetery in the spring.

    Schwahn, Clarence E. Clarence E. Schwan, age 75 of 800 South Railroad Street, Kimberly, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 13, 2005. He was born March 25, 1930, in the Town of Maple Grove, son of Alma (Maertz) Schwahn and the late Carl Schwahn. He married Marcella Werner-Luebke on May 9, 1975. He was previously married to LaVerne Behnke. Clarence was employed with Wickes Lumber for 28 years and Hofmann Monument for over 50 years. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Kaukauna. He is survived by his wife, Marcella; his mother, Alma Schwahn, Manitowoc; three children: Diane (Dennis) Voit, Waukesha; David (Laurie) Schwahn, Brillion; Doreen Schwahn, Brillion; two step children: Marilyn (Michael) Process, Kaukauna; Jeffrey (Jane) Luebke, Appleton; five grandchildren, two step grandchildren, a great-grandson and a great-granddaughter, a brother, Gerald (Alice) Schwahn, Reedsville; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a son, Donald; his father, Carl. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, December 17, 2005, at the Wieting Funeral Home in Brillion. The Reverend Walter Steinbach will officiate. Burial will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Brillion. Friends may call at the Wieting Funeral Home in Brillion from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and then again on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the hour of service.

  • Note: Elton W. Lorenz, age 88, of Shiocton passed away Friday, April 28, 2017 at Rennes Health in Appleton. He was born April 4, 1929, son of the late Alvin and Meta (Diedrich) Lorenz.

    On August 5, 1950, he was united in marriage to Doris Mary Werner at St. Edwards in Mackville and the couple celebrated 63 years together. Doris preceded him in death on March 1, 2014.

    Elton and Doris began building their homestead and continued to work together raising their family, taking care of the farm, and hauling milk for many years. Elton began hauling milk by the can and later began bulk hauling, having hauled milk for over 60 years. He was proud of his homestead, but most importantly, was very proud of his children.

    He is survived by his children: Patricia (Lloyd) Tesch, Eagle River; Dennis (Sally) Lorenz, Seymour; Kathleen (Ron) Guyette, Black Creek; Gordon (Diana) Lorenz, Shiocton; Harold (Tammy) Lorenz, Shiocton; Debra (Gary) Blohm, Seymour; Sandra (Joe) Gitter, New London; and Christine (Vernon) Stedjee, Shiocton; 27 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren and one more expected; daughter-in-law, Lisa Rossi, Kentucky; sisters-in-law: Roberta Lorenz, Black Creek; Marcella Schwahn, Kimberly; and Evelyn Krueger, Appleton; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

    He was preceded in death by an infant son, Peter; son, Gerald; brothers: Earl and Ralph Lorenz.

    Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 from 4 to 8 pm. Don was born on June 29, 1926 in Little Chute, son of the late John and Geraldine (Miller) Gerrits. On August 11, 1956, Don was married to Lillian Benzinger in Michicot, WI. For over 37 years, Don worked at the Neenah Foundry before retiring in 1988. He loved playing cards, especially Sheephead. Don was an avid Packer fan and participated in football pool at many local taverns.

    Don is survived by his loving wife, Lillian; his children, Nancy (Mike) Whitlock, Steve Gerrits, Mark (Nancy) Gerrits, and Paul (Brenda) Gerrits; grandchildren, Eric (Mandi) Hietpas, Ryan (Fiancée Dannielle) Hietpas, Kayla Hietpas, Ryne Gerrits, Ashley (Zeb) Bayer, Tyler Gerrits, and Samantha Gerrits; step-grandchildren, Bill and Andy Sitter; brothers, Bob (Millie) Gerrits, and Roger Gerrits; sisters, Darlene Romenesko, Vernadine (Jim) Welch, and Clarice Islinger; sister-in-law, Lois Gerrits; and brother-in-law, Don Evers. He was further preceded in death by a granddaughter, Cara Hietpas; brother, Eugene Gerrits; sisters, Elaine Evers, Sis Werner, and Audrey Van Handel; and brothers-in-law, Lee Romenesko, Jerome Werner, Frank Islinger, and Earl Van Handel.

Frank was born and lived in the same house his whole life, in Appleton, WI, on March 12, 1928. Frank is the son of the late Frank Sr. and Theresa (Gmeinweiser) Islinger. He married Clarice Gerrits on August 12, 1950 and recently celebrated 55 years together. Frank was employed at Hoffer Glass for 40 years, retiring in 1988. He loved woodworking and cabinet-making and passed this love to his sons and grandsons. Frank also enjoyed playing cards. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Clarice; children: Connie (Robert) Barlow, Gary (Pam) Islinger, Greg Islinger, Pam Rusch (friend, Ron Sutton), Scott Islinger (fiancé, Cheryl Johnson) and Paul (Jackie) Islinger; sisters: Erna Olsen, Ceil (Virgil-deceased) Young, Barbara (Harold-deceased) Lamoen, Anne (Ervin) Finske, Mary (James-deceased) O’Connor and Rosie (Ralph) Moser; grandchildren: Brian and Brandon Barlow; Mark, Kurt, Tim, Brent, Emma, Carleigh and Jason (Leah) Islinger; Al Rusch III (fiancé, Lisa Hughes); Karen (Phil) Kalwitz; great-grandchildren: Lukas, Avery and Payton Islinger; Kendra and Leandra Kalwitz and Courtlyn Rusch; sisters-in-law: Germaine (Jerome-deceased) Werner, Vernadine (James) Welch, Darlene (Lee) Romenesko and Elaine (Donald) Evers; and brothers-in-law: Robert (Millie), Donald (Lillian), Gene (Lois) and Roger Gerrits. The funeral mass will be held at 12:00 p.m. (Noon), on Wednesday, October 5, 2005, at SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH, 222 East Fremont Street, Appleton, with Rev. Norman Krutzik officiating. Visitors will be received at church on Wednesday, October 5 from 9 until 11:45 a.m. The interment will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his wife Catherine, his son, Robert, and his daughter, Rita. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at St. John Catholic Church, Little Chute with Reverend Richard Klingeisen officiating. Internment will be in the parish cemetery.
