    Menasha

The Lord blessed the world by giving us Earl Huelsbeck for 101 years, and now He can appreciate this warm, sincere, gentle man the way so many of us have. Earl was a successful man by all measures. The numbers are certainly there, six children: Evelyn Birling, Menasha Elaine Bishop, St. Louis, Missouri Corrine Malc, Ocala, Florida Joan Cassella, Atlanta, Georgia Betty Schultz, Salinas, California and David Huelsbeck, Neenah. Then comes 23 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren. His sister, Angeline Williamson of Appleton also survives him.

Earl was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Mathilda, in 1991 and two brothers, Clarence and Hubert Huelsbeck.

After an upbringing on the farm, Earl was a milkman for Gear Dairy in Menasha for most his working days. Meeting people made his job rewarding. Always a smile and always whistling were his trademarks. Successfully raising a family of six during the depression days, Earl and Tillie redefined the words love, understanding and perserverance. A musician of natural talents, he often supplemented their income by playing in a band, yet another means of enjoying people and sharing a good time. A frequent quote of his ... "The only thing better than fun is more fun." The trademark "Whiteone" and "Plowboy", always in moderation, attest to his philosophy and longevity.

That the world were populated by Earl Huelsbecks ... but we can only emulate him and his contributions. Now only the Lord can relish his own works.

So how does one measure success? A Family member summed it up beautifully, "Over a century of love."

Funeral services for Earl will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2002, 11:00 a.m., at St. Mary Catholic Church, 212 Appleton Street, Menasha with Father Michael Norieka S.S.S. officiating. Family and friends will be received on Saturday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Menasha.

A special prayer and thank you to the staff at Oakridge Gardens for making him feel loved and cared for.

Robert Lee Arndt

M, b. January 3, 1943, d. April 22, 2012

Biography

  • Birth: Robert Lee Arndt was born on January 3, 1943 in Appleton, Outagamie Co, Wisconsin.
  • Death: He died on April 22, 2012, at age 69, in Wisconsin Rapids, Wood Co, Wisconsin.
  • Note: Robert Lee Arndt, 69, Town of Grand Rapids, died Sunday, April 22, 2012 surrounded by his family at Riverview Medical Center, Wisconsin Rapids.

Bob was born January 3, 1943 in Appleton to the late Lee and Elizabeth (Kuse) Arndt. He graduated from Appleton West High School and attended UW LaCrosse. On July 18, 1964, Bob married his high school sweetheart, Ann Seidl, in Appleton. They were blessed with the births of their children; Melissa and Michael.

Bob retired from Consolidated Paper in 1998 having worked as a storeroom supervisor. More recently, he worked as a self employed salesman for Lawson Products.

A gregarious and outgoing man by nature, Bob would easily walk into a room full of strangers and in little time have a room full of lifelong friends. He will be remembered for his love of fishing, watching Brewers baseball and working away his troubles in the yard on his trusty John Deere. But for Bob, it was his family that meant everything to him, and the world revolved around his grandsons. Bob and Ann traveled far and wide to be able to spend time with their family, making new friends wherever they went.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 47 years, Ann; children, Melissa (Bobby) Mabry of Arlington, TN and Michael (Amy) Arndt of Wisconsin Rapids; grandchildren, Alec Mabry of Arlington, TN, Lucas and Samuel Arndt of Wisconsin Rapids; and extended family and friends.

Friends may visit from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Thursday, April 26th, with a memorial service and celebration of Bob's life following the visitation at Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home, Wisconsin Rapids. Reverend Dan DeRoche will officiate.

Bob's family would like to thank the hundreds, if not thousands of people that were brightened by Bob's character and his larger than life personality, for your prayers and support. Also, a special thanks to the doctors and staff from the UW Cancer Center Riverview for your genuine care and concern for Bob and our entire family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made in the name of Robert L. "Bob" Arndt to: UW Cancer Center Riverview, 410 Dewey Street, Wisconsin Rapids, WI 54494.
