  • Note: "Doris Peterson Willems, 86, formerly of Sturgeon Bay, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2005, in Manitowoc. She was born July 13, 1918 in Jacksonville County, Wisconsin to Julius and Ida (Anderson) Johnson. Following the early death of her mother, she was raised by Albert and Clara Thompson Johnson as their daughter. She married Ingval Peterson. He preceded her in death. On June 11, 1982, she married Martin Willems. He also preceded her in death. Doris was an accomplished artist. Her grandchildren were very precious to her. She had a green thumb and loved flower gardening and tending to her plants.



    Doris is survived by her daughter Diane (Arnold) Schleicher of Egg Harbor and their children, Gregory (Michelle) Schleicher of Valmy; Steven (Jill) Schleicher of Egg Harbor; Annette Schleichger (special friend--Eric Larson) of Tallahassee, Florida; and Susan Scheicher (fiance --Jeremy Brueggmann) of Madison. She is also survived by daughter, Jean (Jack) Hildreth of Seymour, Ind. and their children, J. Michael (Sherry) Hildreth of Bloomington,, Ind; Joseph (Jennifer) Hildreth of Seymour, Ind; and Sean (Sara) Hildreth of Indianapolis, Ind. She is further survived by ten great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.



    She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; granddaughter, Renee Hildreth, and two brothers, Basil Johnson and Mark Johnson; two sisters-in-law, Helene Johnson and Helen Johnson.



    Friends may call on Saturday, February 26, 2004 (2005), at Huehns Funeral Home from 2 p.m. until the time of service at 4 p.m.



    Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. at Huehns Funeral Home On Saturday with the Rev. Kenneth Boettcher officiating. Burial will follow at Bayside Cemetery.



    In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Doris Willems memory to Zion Lutheran School in Egg Harbor; the Renee Hildreth Memorial Scholarship fund c/o Jackson County Bank of Seymor, Indiana; or to Shady Lane Home--3rd Floor in Manitowoc.

  • Note: Rita M. "G.G." Ransom, 90, Green Bay, passed away peacefully with her family by her side Saturday, March 9, 2013. She was born June 5, 1922, in De Pere to the late Louis and Nellie (Albers) Calaway. Rita married Charles "Chuck" Paulick in May of 1948; they had two daughters together before Chuck passed away in 1961. Rita remarried Allan Ransom in 1971 and he also preceded her in death. Rita worked at Saranac Glove Company for many years until her retirement.

    Rita was a longtime member of St. Francis Xavier Cathedral and quilted with the mission society. She volunteered at the Perpetual Adoration Chapel at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church since its beginning and also at St. Vincent De Paul. Rita enjoyed gardening, doing crafts, bowling, and especially shopping with her granddaughters. G.G. (Great-Grandma) loved spending time with her family, especially her great-grandchildren.

    Survivors include her daughter, Cyndee (Bob) Klaus; two granddaughters, Stephanie (Dan) Conway and Sara (Ryan) Horkman; great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Tynan, and Delaney Conway, and Nolan, Haiden, and Kallen Horkman; and sister, Geneva Ambrosius.

    Rita was preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy Paulick-Thebo; infant, granddaughter, Melissa Klaus; infant, great-grandson, Wilson Horkman; sister, Marion (Jim) Van Vonderen; brother, Don (Sharon) Calaway; and brother-in-law, Jim Ambrosius.

    Family and friends may call Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay from 4:00pm until 7:00pm with a parish prayer service at 7:00pm. Visitation will continue on Thursday at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, 139 S. Madison St., Green Bay from 10:00am until 11:00am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the church on Thursday at 11:00am with Rev. John Girotti officiating. Burial will be in Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
