    Schmidt, Earl L.
    Earl L. Schmidt, 62, Kaukauna, died unexpectedly Friday, July 11, 2008, at Appleton Medical Center. He was born in Appleton on May 28, 1946, to the late Lawrence and Loretta (Ashauer) Schmidt. On Oct. 14, 1967, Earl married Ann Liebergen at St. Mary Parish in Greenleaf. He was a member of St. Aloysius Parish in Kaukauna. Earl enjoyed fishing and traveling. He loved spending time with his family and was an especially proud Grandpa. Earl had recently retired.
    Earl is survived by his wife of 40 years, Ann; three children, Kristine (David) Tadych, Greg (Amy) Schmidt and Robert (special friend, Jennifer) Schmidt, all of Kaukauna; six grandchildren, David, Crystal and Amanda Tadych, Sydney, Hayden and Samantha Schmidt; sisters and brothers, Ruthie Lemke, Joan (Steve) Woldt, Paul (Debbie) Schmidt, Alan (Donna) Schmidt, Rose Heegeman and Neil Schmidt; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Melvin (Carol) Liebergen, Gordon (Bonnie) Liebergen, Theresa (Ray) Rozmarenowski and Ben Rottier. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by his brother, Mark Schmidt; and sister-in-law, Mary Jane Rottier.
    Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2008, until the time of Mass at 5 p.m. at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL PARISH (St. Aloysius Site, 2401 Main Ave., Kaukauna). The Rev. Jerome Pastors will officiate. Committal St. Mary Cemetery, Kaukauna.

  • Note: Raphael (Ray) Rozmarenowski, 70, of De Pere, died Monday morning September 21, 2015, following a short battle with cancer. The son of the late Jerome "Harry" and Henrietta (Van Ven Roy) Rozmarynowski was born March 17, 1945 in Denmark. He married the former Theresa Liebergen on June 1, 1968 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Greenleaf. He served in the U. S. Army, with the U.S Forces Support Unit in Korea from 1963 to 1966.

    Ray had retired from Ft. Howard Paper Company after 32 years of service. He later worked at Progressive Farmers Co-op where he worked pumping gas. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, going on bus trips, and camping. Ray was a member of the Wrightstown Legion Post.

    Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Theresa, two sons Jerry (Sarah), Wrightstown, Scott, De Pere, daughter Sarah (Matthew) St. Martin, Milwaukee, grandchildren, Kevin, Micaela, Tiffany, Rachael, his siblings, Donald (Delores) Rozmarynowski, Betty (Gerald) Gajewski, Robert (Joann) Rozmarynowski, twin brother, Richard (Betty) Rozek, Bonnie Rozmarynowski, Rita (Thomas) Stankevitz, his in-laws, Paul (Marian) Van De Hey, Carol Liebergen, Gordon (Bonnie) Liebergen, Anna Schmidt and Ben Rottier, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter, Brittany, two sisters, Karen Van De Hey, Mary Ann DeGrave, parents-in-law, sister-in-law, Mary Jane Rottier, brothers-in-law, Earl Schmidt, Ronald DeGrave, and Melvin Liebergen, and one nephew, Robert Schmidt.

    Family and friends may call at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 305 North Tenth Street, De Pere from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday September 24, 2015. Prayer service will be held at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue after 9:00 am on Friday at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family, 1307 Lourdes Avenue, De Pere, until time of service. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Friday at the church with Father Tim Shillcox, O. Praem, officiating. Full Veteran's Rites will be accorded following the Mass at church.     Beloved husband of the late Mary (nee Hackett) for 50 years. Loving father of Larry (Mary Jane), Nancy, Mary (Roger) Uttech, Margaret Cole, Marlene, David (Ellyn) and Laurie (Rick) Soike. Loving grandpa of many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Gene (Carol) and Joan Gruentzel.
    Preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Catherine; and six brothers and sisters. Further survived by other relatives and friends.
    Vincent was a proud employee of Wisconsin Bell and retired after 46 years of dedicated service.

    Age 43, passed away Sunday at his home from a sudden heart attack. He was born August 19, 1920 in Appleton, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Beschta. He resided in Waupaca, Kaukauna, Sun Prairie and Superior before moving to Sturgeon Bay. He was a trustee of Bay View Lutheran Church and the vice-president of the Sturgeon Bay Kiwanis Club. He was plant manager of the Wisconsin Telephone Company in Sturgeon Bay at the time of his death. He served 4 years with the Navy during World War II. On November 20, 1946 he married Delores Turecek at Birnamwood, Wis. Mr. Beschta is survived by his wife; one son, Richard, age 15; one daughter, Diane, age 11, both at home; his father, Ben Beschta, Appleton; five brothers, Vincent, Watertown; Carl, Stanley, Gene and Gerald, all of Appleton; three sisters, Mrs. Bernard Vanden Bogart, Kimberly; Mrs. Gene Gruentzel, Appleton; Mrs. Richard Brouillard, Combined Locks. She had 9 siblings, and was a baton twirler when she was younger. She was very outspoken, had a cabin on Chute Pond, and collected humming bird stuff. She worked at the A.A.L. (its an insurance company). She was not an only child. Her poodle mix dog's name was Taffy, one other puppy's name was Chipper. She loved cross-stitch, needlepoint, and crossword puzzles. She spent much time with her grandchildren because she was interested in who they were. She loved sitting by the fire and chatting. She had 5 children. She likes reading, golfing, and bowling. Her life was 66 years long because she got cancer. She was born in Appleton on July 13, 1933. She died August 19, 1999.

  • Note: J. J. "Skip" Beschta, age 85, of Appleton, passed away at Cherry Meadows on Thursday, April 16, 2015. Skip was born on May 30, 1929, in Appleton, to the late Ben and Katherine (Kamps) Beschta. He married Carol Pommerenke on June 11, 1955; she preceded him in death on July 14, 2011.

    Skip proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was employed by Wisconsin Bell Phone Company for over 44½ years. Skip was a well-known fast and slow-pitch catcher and pitcher, retiring from the sport after age 50. He enjoyed ski jumping, snowmobiling, and was famous for his long and "friendly" walks. Most of all, Skip was revered as a world-class "tinkerer." His abilities to fix, improvise and improve are legendary. He and Carol enjoyed traveling to South Dakota and Yellowstone National Park. Skip also truly enjoyed raspberry-filled donuts and raspberry sherbert, not to mention molasses cookies.

    Survivors include his children, Judy (Mike) Grishaber, Appleton; Luann (Brian) Byatt, Appleton; and Gene (Bonnie) Beschta, Appleton; his grandchildren, Lance (Jesse Brinkmann) Grishaber, Lucas (Kelly Webb) Grishaber and John Beschta; his sister Joan Gruentzel; his sister-in-law, Marcie Beschta. He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Vincent (Mary) Beschta; Stan Beschta, Donald (Delores) Beschta; Gerald Beschta; and Carl (Bette) Beschta; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Pat (Dick) Broulliard and Audrey (Bern) Vanden Boogard; and Gene Gruentzel.

    Memorial services will be at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME—TRI-COUNTY CHAPEL, 1592 Oneida Street, Menasha, with Deacon C. F. Dedman officiating.     Age 51, passed away late Saturday following a brief illness. He was born January 12, 1922 at Freedom, and had been a Kaukauna resident for the past 18 years. He was employed at Thilmany Pulp and Paper Co. Mr. Schommer was a member of the Kaukauna VFW Post 3319 and the Little Chute Jacop Coppus American Legion Post 258. He was an Army Veteran of World War II.

    Survivors are his wife, Mary [Van Toll]; his mother, Mrs. John [Anna] De Goey, Kimberly; two daughters, Mrs. Ervin [Mary Ann] Plate, Hilbert; Mrs. Robert [Barbara] Hendricks, Kaukauna; three sons, Patrick, Little Chute; Anthony and Jeffrey, both at home; a half brother, John Wirth, Kimberly; a sister, Mrs. Alvin [Betty] Pennings, Combined Locks; a half sister, Mrs. William [Joanne] Jansen, Rt. 4, Kaukauna; and five grandchildren.

    Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Kaukauna with interment in St. John Cemetery, Little Chute. Rev. Charles Fredricks will officiate. Friends may call at the Greenwood Funeral after 2 p.m. Tuesday. There will be American Legion and VFW memorial services at 7 p.m. and a prayer service at 8 p.m. on Tuesday.

    Age 85, was called to eternal life with her family by her side Sunday evening, October 27, 2002. She was born April 18, 1917 in Freedom daughter of the late John and Dora (Verhasselt) Green. She married Leo Schmidt on June 22, 1939 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Freedom. They farmed in Hollandtown their entire life. Leo preceded her in death on October 28, 1961. Florence enjoyed caring for her family and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was best known for her chicken dressing, pies and chocolate chip cookies. Florence was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Hollandtown, where she was active in the Altar Society and cleaned the church for many years.

    Survivors include eight daughters and four sons-in-law: Mary Jane (James) Hurst, Theresa Schmidt, all of Kaukauna Lucille King, North Carolina Darlene (Pat) Hanaway, Greenleaf Grace (Glenn) Kalies, Forest Junction Marilyn Schmidt (fiance Tony DeVita), Florida Carolyn (Dave) Van Vonderen, Tisch Mills three sons and three daughters-in-law: Gerald, Kaukauna Eugene (Cathy), Green Bay Tony (Monica), Brillion Mary Jane (Carl) Vanden Heuvel, Kaukauna 30 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren two brothers and three sisters-in-law: John (Germaine), Bob, all of Freedom Elaine Green, De Pere Harriet Green, Little Chute five sisters and three brothers-in-law: Frances (Harry) Moulry, New London Rosella Kortz, Verna Berken, both of Little Chute Esther (Jim) Van Vreede, Kaukauna Eleanor (Bud) Bowers, Wrightstown. She is further survived by her husband's brothers: Norbert (Lucina, Jerome (Audrey), Francis (Rose), Alfred (Eunice) a brother-in-law, Ray Bies and numerous nieces and nephews.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo a son, Bernard grandson, Jacob Van Vonderen daughter-in-law, Patricia (Grogan) son-in-law, William J. King three brothers and a sister-in-law, Norbert, Bill (Lorraine), Vince three brothers-in-law: Orin Kortz, Gerald Berken and Leo Wieland.

    Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Francis Catholic Church, Hollandtown with Fr. Jim Lucas officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Boettcher Family Funeral Home, 2401 Fieldcrest Dr., Kaukauna from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 9:30 a.m. Thursday directly at the church until the time of services. There will be a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name.

    A special thank you to Danielle Kelly and the staff who lovingly cared for Mom during her stay at Appleton Medical Center.
