    Lillge, Evelyn Emma Evelyn Emma Lillge, 83, Appleton, has gone to be with her Lord and husband in heaven on Sunday, March 18, 2007. She was born July 27, 1923, to the late Ernest and Ida (Plamann) Spring-stroh in Freedom. Evelyn graduated from Freedom High School in 1941, and proudly played on the Appleton Merchant's girls softball team. She married Harold Lillge Dec. 2, 1944, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Freedom. Among her places of employment were: AAL, Peterson-Rehbein Meat Market and Sears until her retirement. Evelyn was a member of the City of Appleton Fireman's Auxiliary for many years. She was a very active faithful member of Bethany Lutheran Church where she served her Lord on the Altar Guild.

    Evelyn is survived by her daughters, Sheryl (Daniel) Hanke, Sparta; Debra (Donald) Miller, Appleton; grandchildren, Kristi Jenson, Nathan Hanke, Kari Hanke, Chad Miller, Stephanie (Phillip) Luehring, Timothy Miller and Michelle Miller; great-granddaughter, Emma Luehring; sisters-in-law, Verona Lillge and Gladys Krueger. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; brothers, Marlin (Ellen) Springstroh and Lawrence (Melda) Springstroh.

    Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2007, at Bethany Lutheran Church, with Rev. Mark Henke and Daniel Hanke officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Visitation will be Tuesday at the church, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services.

    A memorial fund is being established.

  • Note: Eunice Schroeder, age 91, of Menasha, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2013. She was born on May 23, 1922 in Freedom, the daughter of the late Henry and Albertina (Boelter) Witt. Eunice attended grade school at St. Peter's School in Freedom. She worked as a nanny in Milwaukee and moved back to Appleton where she met Ray Schroeder and they were married on March 1, 1945. Ray had four children, Ray Jr., Jerry, Sandy, and Bob, and together they had six children.

    Eunice had a passion for gardening, and after Ray's death in 1969, she ran her produce stand for a number of years. Many will remember her as a very good cook, especially her soup, and her working years at the Cimarron. Eunice was a member of Bethel Ev. Lutheran Church, Menasha for over 50 years.

    She is survived by her children: Nancy (Bill) Kangas; Cynthia (Dennis) Kroes; Bonnie (Tom) Day; Andrew (Joy) Schroeder; and Fred (Teresa) Schroeder; grandchildren: Rob, Ranee, John, Cheri, Mike, Chris, Tim, Jeff, Vickie, Rick, Lisa, and Lynn; special "big grandmother" of Heather, Lexie, Zac, and Vinny. Eunice is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray; children: Ray Jr., Jerry, and Delroy; and her five sisters and four brothers, along with their spouses.

    The funeral service for Eunice will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, November 4, 2013 at Bethel Ev. Lutheran Church, 829 Appleton Road in Menasha. Rev. Sam Degner will be officiating. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park in Appleton. A time of visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 am until the time of service.     De Pere lost another of its oldest residents in point of age and long time residence here on Sunday morning when Mrs. Susan Weyenberg died in a Green Bay hospital. She was 91 years and six months old at the time of her death. Mrs. Weyenberg had been in failing health for the past several years. Her home was on North Sixth street (in West De Pere (wk)). The funeral was held on Wednesday morning from Saint Francis' church, Reverend G. J. O'Connell celebrating the requiem mass. Interment was in Mount Olivet cemetery. The pallbearers were E. A. Lee, John McHugh, Denis Calnan, William Rupiper, Frank Cook and J. A. Kuypers.

    Mrs. Weyenberg was born October 19, 1837, in Kingston, Canada. Her parents were John and Ellen Kane Walsh. In 1849, she with others, came in a prairie schooner to Johnson's Creek, Wisconsin, and a year before the close of the Civil war she came to De Pere. Her husband, Francis Rosekranz, was killed in the war, and she opened a millinery store in De Pere. She continued this business during 40 years. A few years after her arrival here she was married to Renier Weyenberg, who for many years conducted a clothing store and insurance agency. Mrs. Weyenberg was loved by a large circle of friends and was respected by all who knew her.

    The only survivor is a brother, Louis J. Walsh of Gillett.

    Those who were here for the funeral were, John Walsh of Miami, Florida, a nephew; Mrs. Harry Barnum, Chicago, a niece; Michael Walsh, Askeaton, a nephew; Mrs. Kate Walsh, Askeaton, a sister-in-law; Mrs. Lewis Walsh, Gillett, a sister-in-law; Mrs. Guy Chandler, Gillett, a niece; Mrs. Evelyn Owen, Gillett, a sister-in-law; Mr. and Mrs. John Hammen, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Weyenberg, George Williamsen and Mrs. Dora Hammen, all of Little Chute.
