    Henry Verhagen, Sr., 79, lifetime resident of Freedom, route 1, Kaukauna, died at his home at 7:30 Wednesday night after a long illness.
    Mr. Verhagen was born Oct. 9, 1867. He had operated a farm until 1912 and then became janitor for St. Nicholas Catholic church, Freedom, until 1934 when he retired. He was a member of the Holy Name and St. Therese societies of St. Nicholas church.
    He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. John Fink, Freedom, Mrs. Henry Plutz, route 1, Forest Junction, and Mrs. Herbert Nytes, route 3, Kaukauna; a brother, Louis, Little Chute; a sister, Mrs. Lucy Pennings, Kaukauna; and four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
    A solemn requiem mass will be said at 9:30 Monday morning at St. Nicholas church, Freedom, with the Rev. A. W. Van Dyke, pastor, as celebrant, the Rev. Robert Verhagen, a nephew, St. Nazianz, as deacon and the Rev. Earl Schuh, Green Bay, sub-deacon. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
    Friends may call at the Verhagen residence starting at 7 o'clock Friday evening. The rosary will be recited at 8 o'clock Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings at St. Nicholas church.

One was Henry's niece, Johanna or Anna Verhagen (Mrs. Henry Plutz), daughter of Martin and his wife Catherine (Smits) Verhagen. Catherine died when Anna or Johanna was only 4 months old. The other was Eleanor Coenen (Mrs. Herb Nytes), daughter of Annie's brother John and his wife Minnie (Danan) Coenen. Minnie died when Eleanor was only 2 months old.

    Mrs. Henry Verhagen, Sr.
    Mrs. Henry Verhagen, Sr., 77, route 1, Kaukauna, died at her home in the village of Freedom at 2:10 Thursday afternoon after an illness of one month. She was born in DePere Oct. 14, 1868, and has lived in Freedom for 55 years. She was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic church, Freedom, Christian Mothers society and St. Therese society of that parish.
    Survivors are the widower; three daughters, Mrs. John Fink, route 1, Foresst Junction; Mrs. Herbert Nytes, route 3, Kaukauna; Miss Anna Verhagen, route 1, Kaukauna; three brothers, John, Henry and Anton coenen, all of De Pere. One sister, Mrs. Bernard Vander Heiden, route 2, Kaukauna; 4 grandchildren. 9 great-grandchildren.
    funeral services will be held at 9:30 Monday morning at ST. Nicholas Catholic church. The REv. A. W. Van Dyke will officiate at the Ssolemn requiem high mass. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the residence after 7 o'clock this evening. The rosary will be recited at the church at 9 o'clock tonight and Saturday night and at 8 o'clock Sunday night.

    Conradt, Eveline M. Eveline M. Conradt, Appleton, age 96, passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 15, 2007, at Franciscan Care Center, which was her home the past four years. She was born February 10, 1911, in Shiocton, the daughter of Louis and Augusta (Buss) Conradt. She was employed at Kimberly-Clark for many years prior to her retirement. Eveline was a member of St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in Appleton, and was a member of their Ladies Aid. She was a volunteer at Appleton Medical Center, and a long time resident of Randall Court Apartments.

    Survivors include two sisters: Dorothy Schmidt, Clintonville; Elvira Feller, Kaukauna; a brother, Daniel Conradt, Navarino; many nieces and nephews, and her sister-in-law, Irene Yunk, Townsend. She is also survived by her god children: Betty Klitzke, Shawano; Marlene Minton, Mosinee; Joy Daebler, Navarino; and special friends: Jean and Ken Rahmlow, Appleton.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Lena and brothers and sisters-in-law: Elmer, Vilas, (Marcella), Norman, David (Marlis), Wilbert (Nora and Rose), brothers-in-law: Gilbert Schmidt and Harold Feller, god children: Debbie Anderson and Lee Buss.

    Funeral services for Eveline will be at 11 a.m. on August 20, 2007, at ST. PAUL EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 302 North Morrison Street, with Rev. Kenneth Frey and Rev. Elroy Conradt officiating. She will be laid to rest at 2 p.m. at Bovina Cemetery, Shiocton. The visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Eveline's family would like to direct memorials to the St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church.

    Schmidt, Dorothy L. Dorothy L. Schmidt, age 89, of Clintonville, WI, formerly of Appleton, WI, passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 27, 2007, at the Shawano Medical Center with her children by her side. Dorothy was born on August 18, 1918, in Shiocton, WI. She was the daughter of the late Louis and Augusta (Buss) Conradt. Dorothy grew up in Shiocton where she was later united in marriage to Gilbert Schmidt on December 27, 1941. Upon Gilbert's return from military service, the couple moved to Clintonville. They were members of the St. Martin Lutheran Church in Clintonville where Dorothy was a past member of the Ladies Aid. Gilbert then preceded Dorothy in death on November 1, 1979. A few years later, Dorothy moved to Appleton where she became a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Recently she moved to the Angelus Retirement Community in Clintonville, and also rejoined St. Martin Lutheran Church. Dorothy was an excellent mother who enjoyed being a homemaker.

    Survivors are two daughters: Betty (Gary) Klitzke, Shawano; Linda (Donald) Bohman, Appleton; two sons: Robert (Jane) Schmidt, Severn, MD; James (Sue) Schmidt, Greenleaf; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; her brother, Daniel Conradt, Navarino; her sister, Elvira Feller, Kaukauna.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gilbert, a son Gerald, a granddaughter Elizabeth Schmidt, a grandson Jeffrey Klitzke, four brothers: Vilas, Norman, David, and Wilbert, and a sister Eveline Conradt.

    Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2007, at 11 a.m. at the St. Martin Lutheran Church in Clintonville, with the Rev. Christian Burg officiating, and interment will follow at the Graceland Cemetery also in Clintonville. Friends may call at the church only on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the services. Memorials may be directed to the St. Martin Lutheran School Building Fund. The Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home in Clintonville is assisting her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward and a son, Harold. The funeral will be at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Verkuilen Funeral Home, Little Chute, with the Rev. Richard Klingeisen officiating. Interment will be in Lakeview Memorial Park, Oshkosh. Friends may call at the Verkuilen Funeral Home from 5 p.m. Wednesday until the time of service.
